Beautiful wing tips! A nice close-up candid shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Steven. I'm a glutton for shoes like this. smile
A smart pair of Brogues Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Frank. They started a good conversation with the gent and his wife, both in their 80s.
Obviously the shoes of someone who has a very British taste
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Marie. They started a great conversation for me with the elderly gent and his wife, enjoying a nice English lunch in the pub.

"Beste beentje voor"... These shoes are "so English". Like Chris said, great memory to that day out, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Best foot forward is what I wish I had come up with first, Astrid. Bedankt. And yes, this was as if it were yesterday.

These shoes could belong to the Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg who rested on the bench in the Parliament for a short snap, a pic that went through the world!
Ginnie Hart: I didn't see that pic, Philine, but I can certainly imagine it!
Ja, dit zijn de betere schoenen !!!
En voor jullie is het een hele stap vanuit vakantiemodus in de gewone week ;-0
Ginnie Hart: It's fun, Marjolein, isn't it. And yes, back from vacation and now trying to settle back in. smile

In the apartheid years, there was some black people who belonged to their own dance clubs - mostly in building basements. Members would pack their dancing regalia and get dressed at the 'club' on a weekend evening and spent the time ballroom dancing. The men favoured black brogues.

All this happened a bit secretive, because the police would frown on blacks trying to be white. With repercussions. Owners of such places where these dance evenings happened knew and gave their blessings.
Ginnie Hart: (sigh) The stories we all could tell, I'm sure, Louis.
He he... I had one pair too.
Got them from a flea market in Scotland.
Only £1, I mean, why not?!
Ginnie Hart: Why not, indeed, LC. Did they fit and did you wear them???
Tres chic!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Larry.
Very smart - my feet are too wide for shoes like that!
Ginnie Hart: Hmmm. I hadn't though about that, Tom.
