Hannover's New Town Hall at Night
This is the same building as yesterday's pic but at night. Landlady Uschi told me in January that they added new lights to both sides, front and back, in December. I wanted to see them for myself, of course, so on a crisp sunny day, January 15, I took yesterday's pic and then waited until the sun set (5p) to take this shot.
This actually is the back side of Hannover's Neues Rathaus
(New Town Hall), which was built between 1901 and 1913. It's always referred to as 'new' because the old one from the 15th century is still standing in the City Center.
The Maschsee (the foreground water) is an artificial lake that is affectionately called the "blue eye" of Hannover.
