ooooooh, first first... smile that boat would make a great live aboard... but those days are gone for me smile i love this pic, want to be there!
Ginnie Hart: I would LOVE to see inside it, Elaine. I think I could quite get used to it, too. smile Thanks.
So lovely - your photos always have... something... a texture, a feeling that I can't find words for at all. But they are always identifiable as Ginnie's!
Ginnie Hart: You sure are encouraging and upbuilding in your words, dear lizabeth. You know how to make my day. Thank you.

Pleasant thought, Ginnie. And I agree with Elizabeth - this is obviously one of yours!
Ginnie Hart: It's a pleasant thought to know you and Elizabeth can identify my images, Lisl. Thank you. It brings a smile. smile

I would love to find out more about this English narrowboat! When it's gone, I always wonder if it's made the trip back to England. Then it comes back and I want to find out where they went and what adventures they had. smile

WOW, absolute fabulous, LOVE this scene. We walk many times over the lock and look at it. Never bores one moment. The fog adds to this wonderful picture. A likey to me...
(nog één dag..... wink)
Ginnie Hart: This was when Philine was with us in November, MLMA. We had fog that entire day and were better for it. Everything in our town had a different look. Hartstikke bedankt! (nog één dag, inderdaad)
it must have leaped to your attention with the bright colours in that mist. great shot Gnnie
Ginnie Hart: We always love this shot of our inner harbor where we live, Ayush, but to see it in fog lends an added dimension. And then throw in an English narrowboat...it's heavenly to me! smile Thank you.

Did you take the photo on our foggy day? I remember the narrowboat and I like the composition and the silent atmosphere very much! A beautiful photo!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Philine. This was the day we walked around our citadel walls with you. The fog gave a delightful added dimension we don't always get to see...especially with the English narrowboat sitting there. smile Bedankt.

This is a lovely cool-day scene, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray. It was when Philine visited us this past Novemeber. smile

An excellent photograph Ginnie. We are close neighbours really and good for that.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Chad. Now that you have visited us here, you're closer than you think! And every time we see this English narrowboat, we think of our friends just a hop, skip and a jump away. smile
A fine atmospheric picture Ginnie. You can't keep a good narrowboat down grin
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! I would definitely have to agree with you on that, Bill. grin Thanks for the smile.

This is the sort of boat we have on the canal near where I live Ginnie: it looks a bit out of place in Gorinchem
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Chris...your canal is full of these, which is why I have such fond, nostalgic feelings whenever I see this one here in our inner harbor. Instead of looking out of place, it has become a fond reminder of all the English friends we have grown to love!
Excellent picture with beautiful reflections, nice catch!Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Roland.

La brume dans le lointain apporte un côté mystérieux : bravo
Ginnie Hart: That's why I love the fog for photography, JP! Merci.
And the reverse is true! Lovely atmospheric shot Ginnie smile
Ginnie Hart: Awww. How very sweet, Martin. That will be very true come May! smile Thank you.

Magnifique lumière et reflets sur ce très beau canal. Belle ambiance brume aussi.
Ginnie Hart: This is where we live, Marie, so I see it often, but usually NOT with the fog. We were very lucky that day. Merci.

A soft and beautiful image, Ginnie. The red on the longboat is not going to let the fog get in it's way.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Mary, and I do believe you're right! smile

I love the feeling of piece of serenity in this. Did your recent English guests arrive on the narrow boat from the delights of Droitwich ? wink
Ginnie Hart: This was when Philine was with us back in November, Alan, on the day we had fog from morning to night. I think it would be a hoot to go back-n-forth to England on one of these. If one of our recent English guests had such a mode of transportation, you can be sure I'd beg, borrow and steal to hitch a ride with them! smile
You are so right about the fog adding another dimension, Ginnie.
Makes this harbour scene capture of yours even more special and what a bonus to have the English longboat anchored right there. I most hardily agree with Elizabeth; there's no mistaking a Ginnie Hart image.
Ginnie Hart: This was the fog we had when Philine was here with us back in November, Beverly. It was very special and she took it all in stride.

You and Elizabeth sure know how to make my day, for which I thank you. smile
A very nice shot,Ginnie, there is no escaping us....smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Frank, and I hope so! smile
beautiful for a Boat Friday... love the reflections too!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Ha ha... Isn't this so romantic?
You have to sing us "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" now.
Make this moment last!

Oh, you mean the narrow boat not the fog?! Silly me!

Thanks G, I'm afraid I won't be able to join you guys. smile But say hello to Mr Pig for me.
Ginnie Hart: You always think of the best things, like singing "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes." HA! Thanks, LC. And too bad we'll miss you in May. Maybe one year?
Hey how did that get there, a touch of England in Gorinchem, you must have been tickled pink when you found this knowing how you like narrow boats.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Brian. It has been around for quite awhile now and one time I'd love to ask the harbor master about it. Surely there's a story to go with it.

Boat Friday is too easy for you Ginnie, in Dutchland. I think you should start a new theme for Friday or shall I do it ... ie on Friday have scenes of people putting their feet up as it's the weekend the next day ... Nah forget it ... it will never catch on.

Great image btw
Ginnie Hart: I continue to do my Mid-Week Break almost every Wednesday, Richard, and I don't think anyone has picked up on it. So no sense in recreating the wheel for Friday, right?! HA! Anyway, it IS easy to do Boat Friday here in Dutchland, for sure. smile Thanks.
This narrow boat is splendid Ginnie! I really like the atmosphere here.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Richard.
Just that touch of colour makes all the difference
Ginnie Hart: A little dab will do ya, Martin. smile
Love photos taken of & in the mist......the red colour pops off this photo
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Shane. Thank you!

BTW, every time I click on your name (when you comment), it goes to an error page. Are you able to change your blog URL to http://shane.shutterchance.com/. That would help. Thanks.
I,ve just email john.....fingers X ..........thanks ginnie

It's a magical image, Ginnie, full of contrast, taking me into a different period. Would be a great painting as well!! smile

(I've noticed that for verification of comments digits are used now instead of letters, it seems so much easier to me!)
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Petra, for your comment. I have noticed that all blogs are doing the same these days...but had no clue Shutterchance was doing it as well. Maybe they've "finished" what they needed to accomplish with letters and now need to do the same with numbers?
I love this atmosphere smile
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Magali. Thnaks.
Permanent or a visitor, I wonder?
Ginnie Hart: That's what I want to find out, Tom. It comes back-n-forth all year long for at least two years now.
I am so lovin' those touches of red on that building around the windows!
This is a wonderful image in the mist Ginnie... those wonderful canal boats show up all over the placegrin....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter. This is a very special narrowboat and I definitely want to get to the bottom of it...in more ways than one! smile
You have the perfect photographic touch for these shots. Lovely.
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Michael. Thank you.

Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Cherry. I really love where we live!
This is an English "narrow-boat" indeed! Well spotted. A great atmosphere here, because of the fog!
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Wim. This was the day Philine was with us back in November! smile

one can sense the silence of this scene just by looking at it, nice catch.
Ginnie Hart: Fog does have that effect, Rian, for sure! Thanks.
