Fly-Away Friday

Or just GET AWAY, if you can, right?

Actually, Astrid and I leave early tomorrow for a week in Austria, celebrating her 65th birthday.

I leave this Ratty pic for you till we return, wishing Sir Chris a Happy Birthday while we're gone.

(found on a garage door in England while on a walk last September)

Cat adventures...
Ginnie Hart: Good thing Ratty has a parachute, then?!
Banksy ? Have a great trip.
Ginnie Hart: Who know, Frank??? It was way out in the boonies, so I doubt it, but I like the idea!
Terrific find, Ginnie!! Love this! Have a fabulous trip!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you on all 3 counts, Elizabeth. We are really looking forward to this trip...driving on our own and being "in control" of our time.

The things you find, Ginnie.... I love this Ratty and I hope he has safe travels, like we will have on our trip to Austria.
Ginnie Hart: It was so fun to see,Astrid, and since we'll be gone during Chris' birthday celebration, it seemed fitting to leave it for the week. smile
Funny draw. Nice holidays for you and Astrid
Ginnie Hart: I like whenever people get creative like this, Marie. I'd love to know the story behind it. Thanks.

It could be a Banksy, found in Bristol? Oh, I could envy you both travelling now to Austria- Astrid's photo is so stunning!
Ginnie Hart: I doubt it's a Banksy, Philine, because it was in a remote village we passed while walking with Lisl...NOT in Bristol. But then, who knows!
Have a wonderful trip Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. We're definitely expecting to seize the day, rain or shine.

I wonder if Tiff did this.
Ginnie Hart: Probably, Chad! smile
that reminds me of a famous grafitti artist, banksy or basquitte something like that... that poor little rat had to jump out of a plane? lol so cute...
have fun on your birthday trip!!
Ginnie Hart: Banksy, yes, as others have mentioned, Elaine. I doubt it, however, because it was in a remote village off the beaten path. But I fell in love with it. Thanks.

The parachuting rat is a theme of Banksy. "Banksy himself has written, in connection with his works involving rats, 'they exist without permission. They are hated, hunted and persecuted … if you are dirty, insignificant and unloved then rats are the ultimate role model'; that 'you can win the rat race but you're still a rat'; and also that he had been painting rats for three years before someone told him that the word is an anagram of art."
Ginnie Hart: Now you're making me wonder if this IS a Banksy, Philine! However, I saw it on a walk through Winsley with Lisl and would be very surprised to find a Banksy there. It's fun, isn't it, and I love all that info you've added.
Jij ook een hele fijne vakantie in Ehrwald toegewenst.
Genietse !
En wij gaan eind sept een weekje naar `Austria`
Ginnie Hart: Oh, dear, Marjolein. We will be passing ships in the night!!!
Amusant ce rat parachutiste.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: The things we see, Pascale! smile Merci.

groeten
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt. Bedankt. And bedankt, Willy. smile
Have a great time Ginnie, we've only holidayed in Austria once, before we had the children in the early 70's, (what a long time ago that is), but hopefully, like us, you will have a lovely time and enjoy that beautiful country.
Ginnie Hart: We recently passed through the Austrian Alps, Brian, on our way home from Italy, but will now enjoy spending concentrated time there at the Zugspitze one day. Looking forward to going at our own pace this time, as you can imagine!

Have some great Austrian pastry to celebrate Astrid's birthday. Then have more to celebrate yours. Then Chris', then mine. Have a wonderful time between cakes.
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure we can come up with MANY reasons to celebrate, yours and Chris' being at the top of the list, along with Astrid's!
