What gorgeous, ornate detail you've captured here! Very impressive!
Ginnie Hart: The organs of European churches blow my mind, Steven!
Oh that's so beautiful! You did a lovely job with this - I know the lighting in those old Bacilica's can be quite difficult!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. Some of these churches seem to have light enough!
Quel magnifique orgue ! J'aime les décorations autour.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine. These European organs are almost always so ornate and grand!

A truly spectacular organ Ginnie. I hope it sounds as good as it looks!
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Chris. I wish we could hear such organs every time we see them!

This is just beautiful, Ginnie and yes, wouldn't it be special if we could hear music every time we visit a church...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Astrid, and YES YES YES.

What wonderful decoration and a fine setting for the organ. I'd love to hear an organ such as this.
Ginnie Hart: Because my mom was a church organist (besides a pastor's wife and choir director), Alan, I always pay attention to European organs, which she would have loved to see.

What a great, wonderful organ!
Ginnie Hart: It is, Philine. I LOVE European organs...something I did not grow up with in America!
Wat een mooi en uitnodigend orgel
En lekker alles sorteren en nagenieten ?
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein. And yes, sorting everything as we go, one day at a time. smile

Wow, I feel as if I have been punched in the mouth Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Since you're a choir boy, Chad, I understand your comment. smile
the way my mind works is God's own secret! the sight of a catholic church does not make me want to make a joyful noise haha
beautiful pic!!
Ginnie Hart: I know, I know, Elaine. Maybe it take a non-Catholic to appreciate it??? Thanks.
Splendides ces Orgues.
La photo est très belle, plein de détails à  observer.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Pascale. I love these grand European organs...something I did NOT grow up with.

Amazing detail.
Ginnie Hart: When an organ is a work of art!
Very impressive Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Bill. Thanks.
What a magnificent organ.
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Brian.
I am playing my song for the day - joyful music! You captured great detail.
Ginnie Hart: Good for you, Mary, and thank you.
We don't see that kind of intricate detail in our modern organ installations, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: No we don't, Beverly. Nor did I ever grow up seeing anything like this!
Simply opulent!
Had a great time in Italy?

Just got back from Germany last night. It was so warm out there. wink Visited Maastricht too.
Ginnie Hart: You're getting around just like us, LC. How is it that we keep missing each other???
Beautifully ornate pipes for the organ. WOuld love to hear the sound.
Ginnie Hart: I would, too, Ruthie!
Ha! Manybe next time?

Maastricht is rather un-Dutch?!
There are no canals in the town centre. No windmills either. I think they speak German too. wink
Ginnie Hart: One day when you tell me you're coming, we could even meet up with each other, LC!!!
The decoration seems a tad over the top!
Ginnie Hart: Leave that to the Roman Catholic church, Tom, right?!

A gilded and very ornate box for the organ.

My brother-in-law in Dutchland (now semi-retired) played the organ in many Dutch churches. He took me to the Westerkerk in A'dam one day, had me sit on the opposite gallery and proceeded to play for almost an hour. Apart from the beauty of the recital I had the experience of being the whole audience, all by myself.
Ginnie Hart: I can just imagine what that felt like for you, Louis. WOW. What an experience.

Love the many textured look of this site. I bet it sounds pretty, too.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bonnie. I bet it sounds magnificent!
Wonderful organ. I love and I play
Ginnie Hart: Oh, wow, Marie. I never knew you played the organ. So did my mom in her day!

Magnifique
JP
Ginnie Hart: It is, JP. Merci.
this is a magnificent pipe organ Ginnie... and everything around it from cherubs playing instrument to angels and the bronze covering from the base to the crown above the pipes...
your framing and details are superb....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. And to think that most organs like this are in the back of the church where people don't see them except for when they leave or are looking on purpose!
