photoblog image Boat Friday

Boat Friday

Stay cozy this weekend, in harbor or not.

(somewhere in Norway, 2006)

Bill gave me the idea to go back to old photos I've done nothing with all these years.

This is from a Scandinavian Cruise I took with Donica in my past life,

using my old Canon Powershot S3 IS camera.

Plenty to choose from...
Ginnie Hart: You've just reminded me of something I heard years ago, Ray, about what it means to be rich: when you have choices!

Lovely scene with colourful buildings in the background smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Cherry. Norway is like that!
What an idealic little harbor and villa!

A colorful composition you've captured here!! Cozy is the understatement for Chicago this weekend. Wind chills will be close to -25 degrees (F).
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Steven. -25 is way too cold, I'm afraid, for too many people. I have a sister (age 75) who lives in the Chicago area. Hopefully you'll all stay safe and warm!
Joli petit port. J'aime toutes ces maisons colorées.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine. I do, too!

Looking at the colourful houses I knew we are in Norway - have the times really changed? No!
Ginnie Hart: This is one of the fun things about Norway, Philine, isn't it! Bedankt.

Nice... small villages close to water always have the most colourful houses.
Ginnie Hart: At least in Norway! Location, Location, Location. smile
2006? He he... You're even worse than me G! My oldest pics only go back as far as 2008.

Been around smile
Went to South Holland last year. Oh yes, Eurostar started Amsterdam (via Rotterdam) route last year. How can one no go there?

I like travelling in Holland, every town is so close to each other. I mean from Rotterdam to the Hague is under 30 mins by train. In GA, you're probably still driving in the same neighbourhood in 30 mins, right?
Ginnie Hart: Oh, for Pete's sake, LC. The next time you come to Holland would you please let us know so that we can meet up??????? That would be very nice. We could even show you around!
Delightful place to be. I like the oomph delivery.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Mary, and thank you.
What a delightful place it looks Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Bill!
Just the sort of place Maureen and I would like to visit.
Ginnie Hart: I bet, Brian. This was seen from a cruise ship.
WHAT A LOVELY AND COLORFUL HARBOR!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Ruthie. Thank you.
great image Ginnie... it reminds me of the villages in Alaska...

still pretty weak won't be online to visit much....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter, for stopping by, in spite of your weakness. Much appreciated.

Very picturesque - looks like a place to live ... but it snows there.

Wifey is currently up in Norway, with a friend. Done the long Hurtigrutten, seen the Aurora, now staying over in Tromso, busy dog sledding and similar adventures. All her pictures that she send, show some white stuff on it.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Louis. Hurtigruten (which we want to do again, this time going south to north) and snow. We'll never forget it.

The composition is extraordinary...and everything is so sharp! I like the multi colored houses and the flags flying...it all tells a story!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Bonnie. It definitely tells a story...one that has sustained Norway for centuries!
