A Mid-Week Break

Stop....Look...and Listen.

(at one of the St. Petersburg palaces, Russia, 2006)

Bill gave me the idea to go back to old photos I've done nothing with all these years.

This is from a Scandinavian Cruise I took with Donica in my past life,

using my old Canon Powershot S3 IS camera.

You could take winners with a Fisher-Price camera!! Love the wonderful composition!!
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! Flattery will take you everywhere, Bonnie. smile Thanks.
This is wonderful, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray!
A nice composition Ginnie, what an elegant statue.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frank. She looks so relaxed to me, as seen by her hand in particular.
Just lovely...
Obviously, it doesn't matter the instrument... it's your composition that makes it
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Elizabeth. Thank you.
do not know this statue because I had to reside in another hotel. I love St. Petersburg where I stocked up on gorgeous photos. I spent a whole week there before going to Moscow and then Lake Onega, a beautiful memory ... well almost ... because in the Saint Petersburg subway I had my wallet stolen, which was nevertheless in a pocket of my backpack ...
Ginnie Hart: We were on a Scandinavian cruise, Marie, so the ship was our hotel, of course. At the most we had only 2 days there. So sorry you had the bad experience of your wallet stolen. While we were with our excursions, there were soldiers with rifles at various points of our perimeter everywhere we went.

This is wonderful, Ginnie. The white marble really shines here and with the dark water, it is a wonderful composition.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Astrid. She seems so relaxed to me.

She's thinking, shall I??
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Chris. Or not. Sometimes it's just good to NOT think and see what enters the mind?
C'est très beau .j'aime beaucoup Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Claudine.
De tijd stond echt stil, zelfs het water.
Heel mooi vastgelegd
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein!
Must get a bit cold in the winter grin

A delicate point of view.

Very good picture, that old Powershot worked a treat. What I always said - if you can do the basics - composition, sharp focus, use of light, etc - then you don't really need a top end camera. You did all those things here.

These artists are very good. I look at the slight flaring of the bum, because she is sitting on something. Would I have thought of it? Hardly. Bet, the artist had a live model doing just that.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Louis. And, yes, I know what you mean about the artist who did this. You get the feeling she doesn't know someone is watching her.
Love the great contrast in water and stone.
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Mary. Thank you.
