Great vignetting on this ...looks 'old timey' and someone having so much fun.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Bonnie. I do like the old-timey feeling!
This looks like fun smile
Ginnie Hart: I bet they tasted good, too, Rob...but they were only for those making them, and their families.

Oh yes, the Christmas bakery is in full swing.
Ginnie Hart: And to think the little children can learn all about this craft, even in a windmill, Philine.

Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Astrid. I can totally picture your son doing this when he was little!

I have noted how children really enjoy cooking, especially if it is something sweet.
Ginnie Hart: And when they know Sinterklaas is coming by any moment, Chad?? smile
'c' is for cookie, and cookie is for me, lalala... oh wait, no... cookies have carbs right? lol beautiful picture.. made me crave!
Ginnie Hart: Speculaas cookies are to be craved, Elaine. I'll save one for you.
You're brave Ginnie, I do not know how to make pastry but I like to taste them. LOL!
Ginnie Hart: The good news, Marie, is that I am NOT brave, because this pastry was made by someone else and rolled out by the kids. I was just there taking pictures. smile Merci.
This is a fine shot Ginnie, did you get to try the finished product?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Brian, but no. Sinterklaas arrived before these went into the oven. Besides, the cookies were for the kids who made them and their families. It was worth the fun of watching them.
YOu have captured the story beautifully
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Ruthie. It was a fun day for me.

What are the ingredients, Ginnie, please?
Ginnie Hart: So, I did some Googling, Lisl and this is what I came up with: https://www.thespruceeats.com/how-to-make-speculaaskruiden-1128546. The main thing speculaas is known for is GINGER. But as you can see from the link there are many spices added to make the speculaas flavor.
Lovely treatment, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Tom.
