Love your capture - and the selective coloring, Ginnie! Friendship definitely counts!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. I couldn't help but think this is one of the greatest gifts of all!
Nice shot, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Frank. Merry Christmas to you and Elizabeth.

The one on the right looks a little startled.
Ginnie Hart: Listening well, I guess, while looking at all the Christmas-market sights?
Hmm. I could go for some fihs and chips right now.

Merry Christmas!
Ginnie Hart: I could, too, Michael! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Warm English breakfast on a cold day? Sure, why not.
Ginnie Hart: It makes lots of sense to me, Michael! Merry Christmas.

Wonderful picture with excellent selective colouring. To share special moments with a special person is alway very important. Enjoy life as much as you can.
Ginnie Hart: This is not only Christmas for me, MLMA, but heaven on earth...as you know so well. Thank you for sharing it with me!

Hhaha... I like the English menu; looks my sort of place when I venture to non-English speaking countries (although I can cope with things such as jambon et frites wink ). Surprised to see one of the ladies wearing denim - is that allowed if over 40?
Ginnie Hart: I heard almost as much English being spoken in Bruges that day than in England last May, Alan. HA! And...have you seen me wear anything else but denim every time you've seen me??? Or maybe that doesn't count?? smile

Joyeux Noël
Ginnie Hart: The same to you, JP. Merci.
All the way to Belgium for an English breakfast grin

Love the picture Ginnie

Have a great Christmas
Ginnie Hart: As I told Alan, I heard almost as much English being spoken in Bruges that day than in England last May, Bill. smile The town really caters to its English guests!

Ginnie Hart: HA! Indeed, Elaine. smile
Very nice atmospheric capture Ginnie. I wish you to spend a great Christmas Eve with Astrid!
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Richard! Astrid and I plan to spend a GREAT Christmas Eve. smile
I love the relaxed look of these friends. The selective colouring is especially nice in this one.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Mary. I couldn't resist the "nod" to our English friends. smile
Bruges is so English, right? wink
A home away from home.

Shame, they don't serve grits, tacos, buffalo wings, chowder, etc there though. To help you to cope with homesickness, I can cook you these for Christmas, G!
Ginnie Hart: I heard almost as much English there, LC, as when we were in England last May. HA! They definitely cater to their English neighbors to the west. And, yes, I bet you could cook any number of things to make me feel right at home. smile

My goodness that looks cold Ginnie, these must have been brave souls.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Chad, it was unseasonably warm that day, more like autumn. I have a feeling these ladies felt very warm and cozy. smile

Only the boot cut jeans give the game away - otherwise straight out of a Noel Coward play. Great.
Ginnie Hart: Someone else noticed the denim, Mike. HA! I love how observant you are. smile

I learnt today a new word to describe a close connection like this one: 'consanguinity' - and I'm sure that the ladies zijn aan het praten in het Vlaams (of Nederlands). It is a pity that the English language is allover present, although it is also good for the communication among the foreigners. I had some occasions in Bruges and also in Münster to use my Dutch - and I had some pleasure of it!
Ginnie Hart: That's a good word, Philine. Thanks for sharing it and your kind thoughts.

In the style of Robert Doisneau ... Lovely

Mind you, I wouldn't have included the selective colour.

Enjoy tomorrow in your own special way
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Richard. The selective coloring was a special tip-of-my-hat to all you SC English friends. smile
This is such a GREAT capture Ginny! Love, love, love and so perfect for b&w and that touch of color!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear, Robin. That bit of color was my tip-of-the-hat to all our English friends here on Shutterchance. :

Well this is an excellent picture. Where on this earth did these two girls in their high dress code came from. And they are gossiping away, by the looks.

All the best there in Gorinchem.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Louis. Wouldn't we all love to know what they're talking about! smile

Enjoy your own holiday weekend there where you are!

they are dedicated to having their tea at a sidewalk table Ginnie... even it they have to wear coats and hats...

Merry Christmas to you and Astrid!

Penny and ....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: I'm always surprised at how many people eat out on the terraces of cafes all over Europe even in winter, Peter. But most of them have heaters and blankets. I guess this is what happens especially for the smokers who can't wait....?
A lovely moment, Ginnie. Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Graeme, and the same to you and yours (if I'm not too late!).
definitely things that count, except the ladies are blocking a part of the board tongue
Merry Xmas, Ginnie (and Astrid)!
Ginnie Hart: I have a feeling the older we all get, the more we understand what really counts! Happy 2nd Christmas Day, Ayush, now that it's the 26th.
