We had a fabulous time. Perfect weather for a nice stroll around the harbour.
Beautiful picture, love the two shadows of us.
I never get tired of looking at boats and the activity in a harbour. Almost weekend smile
Ginnie Hart: You couldn't have asked for a better day! The skies were magnificent, with the sun going in and out of the clouds. It really is a great city for taking our guests! Bedankt.
Those clouds never go away. No wonder Baroque paintings had such perpetually soft lighting.
Ginnie Hart: You have no idea how right you are, Michael. Seriously. That's one of the reasons why I am in love with the Netherlands! smile
It must have been a fine wine to name his boat after it Ginnie... i like the long shadows of Astrid and Robin with their cameras at the readysmile....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: I'll have to try Grand Cru one of these days/years, Peter, to find out for myself. smile I had to Google it in the first place. HA! It was such a magnificent day for us all!

Warm tones, yet the canal and sky look grey. Nice contrast, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Lisl. I'm sure you see such days in England all the time, just as we do here! smile

Beautiful shot of the expedition, Ginnie. I love the halo in their hair from the backlighting.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray. They both deserved halos that day. smile

Ginnie Hart: Yes, Philione, we have also been to Enkhuizen, on another day. But don't you just love Hoorn! Robin was delighted to see it! Bedankt.

What a grand time you all must have had. I can almost hear the laughter and giggles as you strolled the streets - probably photographing everything in sight.

Look at the light on their hair! And the sparkle on the water! While I notice clouds in the sky, the sun must have peeked through enough to make for a beautiful crisp day.
Ginnie Hart: It was just the best time, Sue. It couldn't have been a nicer day...crisp, sunny AND cloudy. Just the way I like it with those Dutch skies! Thank you.
I wonder what you gonna name your boat one day, G...

Don't tell me it's "Gin & Tonic"! ;o)
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHAHAHA! You are so funny, LC. Gin & Tonic. I'll have to remember that! grin

And there are Astrid and Robin. What gorgeous light in this scene and image!!!
Ginnie Hart: Astrid and Robin with cameras in hand! It was such a glorious day, Marcie, even though we had to say Good-Bye to Robin shortly after this nice walk.
Nice sparkly Dutch Boat Friday Ginnie. Have a great weekend too
Ginnie Hart: The Dutch know how to do it right, Janet, don't they! smile Thanks.
This looks my sort of place, a fine shot, and the shadows of the girls really finish this off.
Ginnie Hart: You'd love it here, Brian. And yes, those girls really finished this off for me.

Ginnie Hart: Ha! You got us down pat, John. grin
A champagne shot
Ginnie Hart: A good Boat Friday proost, Mary, right? smile
I feel like I'm right there, trotting along behind them, Ginnie. What a delightful scene!
Ginnie Hart: You'd love it here, Beverly! Thank you.
going to Paris tomorrow I'll make a note on the Grand Cru's crusade grin nice day overthere Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Save some for me, Juan Carlos! grin Thanks. Have a good trip. You'll be only 5 hours away from us by car.

Still got that sexy autumnal light I see, that brings out the photographers.

It made me wonder what the collective noun for them is... an exposure, a click (or clique), a spectrum...

Have a nice weekend....
Ginnie Hart: It doesn't take much, George! smile Thanks.

In the world of wine "grand cru' refers to a very dry wine. Must be his wish for his boat - to stay dry.

The time of day, the weather and Ginnie makes this a great shot.
Ginnie Hart: So you just educated me and made this all make sense. Thank you, Louis. smile And flattery will get you just about everywhere.
A beautiful shot Ginnie! Love those shadows, like companions smile Have a great weekend, too!
Ginnie Hart: It was a great day for shadows, Martin. It was a great day for just about everything! smile Thanks.

that's a beautiful place for a photo walk.. smile nice catch!
Ginnie Hart: You'd love it there, Rian. Thank you.
ben il n'y a pas la crue chez vous mais chez nous, les rues sont bien inondées qu'on va finir par avoir chacun sa barque
Ginnie Hart: Wow, Angevine. That's a lot of water if you need your own boat! Take care.
With such a name, an amateur of wines I guess. Lovely light, warm I suppose. A very appealing place for a walk Ginnie. Have a great week-end. I did not have much time this week. I'm awfully busy ! smile
Ginnie Hart: It was a delightful day, Flo, with a bit of a chill in the air. My kind of weather! smile Hopefully you'll have time to rest this weekend?! Merci.

Oh yes; that will do nicely; a bottle each? The light is look; a like the shadows.
Ginnie Hart: I don't recall ever trying Grand Cru, Alan, but I'll pay attention now. smile Thanks.
Wonderful image Ginnie. I like the sparkles around "Grand Cru"!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. Merci. It was one of those days you don't forget!

The two figures holding their cameras in a similar posture, they just make the scene alive. Great shot, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: The one on the left is my wife, Astrid, and the one on the right is our dear Vision & Verb friend, Robin, visiting from NYC. It was such a perfect day for being out-n-about. Thank you, Petra.
I suppose that's an indication of the only quality of booze they allow on the boat smile
Ginnie Hart: Maybe, Tom? I bet there's a good story there somewhere. smile
A fine Friday pic...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Larry.
A fine scene, Ginnie, and you've pictured it well. Good angles.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Graeme.
What a beautiful and amazing place that you captured so very well Ginnie. The water appears very close, does it ever flood here? You definitely live in an interesting country Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, John. You'd be in phographic heaven here in the Netherlands. I can just imagine what you'd do with it! grin

Much of Holland is below sea level, as I'm sure you know, so water control is of the utmost priority all year round just to keep the country from drowning! You can be sure that even if the rivers and canals start rising, the pumps and windmills and locks are working overtime. Bottom line, it is very rare for flooding to occur, though it does get close sometimes...and that's what the dijks are for, to keep rising water from getting to the lowlands!
I agree. It was our 21st wedding anniversary on the 19th so we had a drop of bubbly as part of the celebrations!
Ginnie Hart: Well then, David! See, I must have known. CONGRATULATIONS! So glad I could celebrate with you. smile

Ginnie Hart: It's fun, Tede, isn't. And trust me, I always drink in moderation! smile

This looks like a great place for an afternoon walk. It looks like there is a storm looming, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: It's a most delightful place for a stroll, Helen, for sure. That particular day the sun was passing in and out the the clouds but we never once had any rain. I think we were lucky! Thanks.
Great shot. Greetings
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Zielona.
Brilliant color and rim lighting, and a gorgeous setting for a stroll. I know there was great fun to be had, by all!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kind, sir. It was a fabulous outing for us all, indeed! smile
