Pity there is a need to put that sign there, but its a great shot anyway.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Debb, I know. Thanks.
Sometimes the honor system isn't.
Ginnie Hart: Sadly true, Larry!
Great shot Ginny! Very interesting smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frances, and yes. It sure caught my eye.

Brilliant image, Ginnie.

They must be selling a lot of Magazines if they need to empty the box every day, heh!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ray. Well, let's hope that's true. smile
Great image! Great sense of humor you!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Elizabeth. smile
By the looks of that shiny new plate above the "Parish Magazine" slot, there may be a reason for that sign!

And didn't I laugh at the difference in the fonts. Which sign is the newer? Ah...yes.(1915
Ginnie Hart: Something so simple like this makes me just stare, Linda. So many questions, so little time. smile Thanks.
I just had to come back and mention that wonderful little bit of advice down by your Captcha code - "stop spam. read books." Wonderful!
Ginnie Hart: You have seen something I didn't know was there, Linda! Thanks for letting me know. smile
I sure tells a story Ginnie... great find and capture....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it does, Peter. Thanks. And Happy Birthday, again.

looks like the whole thing is about to fall apart
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, after so many years, perhaps?
it's interesting because of what's written above and cool textures!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Joshi, exactly. Thank you.

You always seem to find these 'litle' things. ove the humour here smile.
I presume they have suffered bit at the hands of unwanted visitors smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear SAVO. I'm guessing they have had their share of vandalism, though that surprises me, since this church is inside the coutyard of the Hospital of St. Cross. Not that accessible.

It's such a pity that the top notice is even necessary Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I so agree with you, Chris. You'd think for where this church is, there would be minimal vandalism, if any!

....and that in a church, not all honest people visit there.
Love the 'cracks' in the wall, lot of money is thrown in, I guess.
Wonderful picture, great eye.
Ginnie Hart: It was a surprise to see, especially since the church is so secluded from the outside world. Bedankt, MLMA.

Well spotted, Ginnie! Chris is right refering to the top notice (why not printed with old- fracture, black letters?) And where might I twow in my devote ask for a prayer?
Ginnie Hart: It was all so strange, Philine, since the church is quite secluded from the outside world, inside the courtyard of the Hospital of St. Cross. One wonders!
I don't suppose it takes long
Ginnie Hart: I guess not, Bill! (sigh)

Thieves in churches here are likely to crowbar open or wrench out the offering boxes!
Ginnie Hart: I hate it, Elizabeth! Is there no place that's sacred anymore???

A sign of the times
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Anne. Indeed.
Looks like the sign is also paste daily. Pity the sanseriff typography they use.
Ginnie Hart: Yes and Yes, Juan Carlos. Sigh. smile
I would wrap up some money with a note that said paint and put it in the slot on the right.
Ginnie Hart: HA! You are one smart lady. Ms. Mary. I like that. smile
Brilliant sense of humor!
Ginnie Hart: I'd love to think this WAS humor and not reality!
Rather quaint ... in all its aspects.
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Richard.
nice composition
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Chantal.

What a great find!! Such an exquisite detail...love it!
Ginnie Hart: To be honest, Marcie, it took me off-guard since this church is inside a compound and quite protected, you'd think, from the outside world! Thanks.
So the only hope for thieves is to strike near the end of a good day, they may be forced back into respectable employment by this !
Ginnie Hart: Let's hope so, Martin! smile Thanks.
You did well spotting this Ginnie - I love the cracks in the wall appearing around the box. Your name in the watermark - it seems as if it is part of the wall smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Very original this limp, thank you for your cuckoo under my star little boy Ginnie, are adorable you, good day...
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Merci, dear Pierrot.

Probably one of those places with gold clad figurines, pillars, altars, etc. Then you have to pay for the parish magazine.
Ginnie Hart: Kinda, sorta, Louis. Not as elaborate as some I've seen but definitely a find. Thanks.
I like the mix of colors, accented by the red lettering. I can see how this vignette caught your eye Ginnie. Interesting shot!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Doug. It would have caught your eye, too. smile Thanks.
I wonder if the installation of a camera like they have at ATMs would be a deterrent, Ginnie. Sad reflection of the times...(Sigh).
Ginnie Hart: That's an idea, Beverly, but how sad, indeed! Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: As polite and daring as they come, John. smile Thanks.

So sad that such signs are needed. Bring back hanging!
Ginnie Hart: You were there with us that day, Alan, so you may be as surprised as I am that such a sign would be necessary in that "secluded" area. Sigh.
I've seen these boxes in so many churches throughout our land over the years, what a shame this church feels that it must also display the notice over the top.
Ginnie Hart: Sigh upon sigh, Brian. I know. But at least they make for a great photo op. smile

A sense of the ironic. They could have matched the text fonts.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Yes, that could have helped things, Rob. smile

I hope they raise lots of money, such a shame they have to put the sign up but I love the image with its textures smile
Ginnie Hart: I know, Linda. It really caught my eye, for sure. Thanks.
Cool image, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Tom.
They still use cash in Winchester?
We've already changed the system to electronic payments in Malaysia. Ha!
Ginnie Hart: You're way too funny, LC. But cash still works almost everywhere, I guess...especially when there are tourists!

I love your title smile I have never seen the money divided into two like that before, although the sign above always seems to be necessary...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Cherry. It's all new to me! smile
I love the textures and the tones smile Love how the magazine has it's own box :p x
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Laura.
