I'm already shivering in my shoes, are the ghosts of winter present and future to come?
Ginnie Hart: My guess is we're in for a real doozy, Les! Thanks.

Lovely image, Ginnie.

Although, it doesn't scare me at all.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ray. Me neither! smile
An appropriate shot for Halloween - it's rather spookily processed, and suitably named.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JP.
The minute I saw the name, I knew! Boo to you, too - and boo to you two!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Can't get anything past you, Linda! smile Thanks.
I'm not getting on that boat!
Ginnie Hart: Me neither, Dennis! smile

grin Creeeeepy.... smile
Great treatment, love the POV.
Very appropriate picture for today.
BOE..... wink
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, MLMA. It's hard to believe it was that long ago when we saw this. I remember thinking of Halloween the second I saw it and now here it is!
I love it Ginnie... but i think that you may have taken up a new hobby... sign painting... i think that Astrid has been showing you some of her trickssmile ....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: HA! I wish I could take credit for that, Peter, but I'm afraid someone else beat me to it, and it wasn't Astrid. smile Thanks.
really gives a ghost effect!
Ginnie Hart: Kinda, sorta. Thanks, Joshi.

Great capture Happy halloween to you
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Vintage.
Have a good Halloween. I'm not a fan...i was brought up on Guy Fawkes!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Once a year it comes and goes quickly for me, Bill. Guess that means I'm not a real fan either?!

Oh, Ginnie, I hope you are in a good mood - oh, I remember: Halloween - and the Flying Dutchman' is searching for love and a bride in Nederland where are the mooiest meisjes as you know!"
Ginnie Hart: HA! Yes, Philine, I'm in a great mood. Halloween comes and goes so quickly for me, once a year. Thankfully. smile I always love the thought of the Flying Dutchman!!!
A brilliantly dark and disturbing image...beautiful, powerful and perfectly titled! Great work Ginnie, as one has come to expect from you! Be wellsmile
Ginnie Hart: You're most kind, Pavan. Thank you. When I first saw this back in February, I immediately thought of Halloween, so it's been sitting around for awhile. smile

Never having been brought up on this festival I tend to not notice it too much but do see all the stuff in the shops. I get a little mixed up with the exact date though. Is it tonight or last night?
Ginnie Hart: It's tonight, Chad...the last day of October. Surprising as it seems, I grew up in a preacher's home and still have lots of fun memories of Halloween!
One from the Blackdog school of photography Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I'm afraid that's a bit too flattering, Mick! But thanks anyway. smile

An eerie Halloween boat - for sure!! Love your 'dark' processing. Perfect!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marcie. This has been sitting in the archives since last February, waiting for this day. I'm just glad I remembered. smile

The only winters past I seem to consider fondly are those from childhood, when snow was a thing of such magical beauty Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Chris. Those in our American northeast right now have received quite a trick this year, I'm afraid. I bet those kids are sure having fun right now! To be honest, I hope Astrid is right that this will be a cold winter for us this year. We want the canals to freeze...and hopefully with lots of snow. After 25 years in basically snowless Atlanta, I'm ready to be a kid again. smile
Was Patrick Swayze on board?!
That's a classic film, G! wink
Ginnie Hart: I love that movie, LC. And don't I wish!!! smile Thanks for the thought.
My goodness Ginnie you are doing 'blackdog' and 'yellow bear' all in one.

I was 'weened on hallo's' Ginnie ... my mum tried to bring me up proper like.
Ginnie Hart: I'm flattered by both references, Richard. HA! Thanks. In spite of being raised in a preacher's home, I have many good memories of Halloweens past.

Great treatment here Ginnie - it well suits the subject matter. Would take more than this to scare me though!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ingrid. Me, too, to be honest. smile

The dark, moody setting seems appropriate for the day. It;s a shame we don;t put as much effort into All Saints' Day tomorrow wink
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Alan, and I know what you mean!!!
Excellent presentation, Ginnie. Halloween was virtually (and happily) unknown in the UK until a good many years ago now, an evening news programme reported on the US "trick or treat" activities. Immediately, kids started running around doing the same thing here - dreadful!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Tom. Astrid shares your sentiments exactly about all the commercialism that has come acrossd to Europe from America. SIGH.

A mini version of the "Mary Deare" - breakfast still hot in the saloon, but nobody there. Have a nice Halloween guys.
Ginnie Hart: Makes you wonder why it has that name, George, doesn't it! Thanks.
Ghost ship, shiver my timbers smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! Love it, John. smile
Oh dear. We seem to got off the beaten track darling. Great halloween job Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Great, Janet. I love it. smile Thanks.

I'm assuming you did darken this a bit, but is there a texture on it too? It is a gorgeous photograph!
Ginnie Hart: Yes and yes, Margaret, though to be honest, I can't remember what all I did since that was back in February...last winter. smile But thanks!
Yes very apt for the day Ginnie. One daren't even mention the Halloween word in front of our minister, for obvious reasons which you would probably be aware of.
Ginnie Hart: My dad was a Baptist mininster, Brian, as you know, but I don't remember NOT being able to enjoy Halloween. Interesting, isn't it! smile Thanks.

What a great name for a boat smile
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Cherry, but I'd love to know the story behind it. Thanks.
Nice effect for the subject, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Graeme.

Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Linda. Not too scary, though, right?! smile
Love the treatment, Ginnie! Definitely creates the Halloween mood. Like the grain and dark shadows, great image!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
That makes a very cool hallowe'en shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Michael. When I saw it last February, I immediately earmarked it for this Halloween. smile

Ginnie Hart: HA! Muchas gracias, Oscar.
et sous cet effet en plus,du mystère!!!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, L'angevine. I'd love to know the mystery behind its name!
Ohhh, I don't think many trick or treaters would venture aboard that boat, nor would they be welcome. Wonderful treatment, Ginnie, perfect for Halloween!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Beverly, and I agree with you. I'm quite sure I'd stay away!
