Happy and Colorful Boat Friday

Our Shutterchance meet-up was at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, England.

But not everything was BLACK, thankfully.

Here's a collection of people shots from our Dudley meet-up.

(Thanks to Bill for helping me with YouTube, but sans audio!)

She's proud...
Ginnie Hart: She sure seemed so, Ray. Thanks.
Great Fiday picture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frances. I never forget, even if sometimes I don't have a boat. smile
Great close shot of that... ropey thing on the boat! Can you tell I've never been on a boat - I have no idea what that thing is for! But I love the photo!

And I enjoyed your Dudley slideshow very much - I've had so much fun seeing everyone! Thanks for sharing!
Ginnie Hart: I had never seen the ropey thing either, Elizabeth and then someone mentioned it's another way to do a "bumper" for boat protection. A new one for me! Thanks for watching the slideshow. It was such a fun day with everyone.

Oh yes, what a wonderful -colurful boat - and we all may be in very good mood while looking at this boat -and while looking at the row of pictures from your meeting - it must have been a really lovely meeting- but where are you with your big lens? Oh, ik kan me goed voorstellen je lief gezichtje, je nieuwsgierige oogjes en hoe je snel loopt om een nieuwe ontdekking te fotograferen!
Ginnie Hart: I always think of you, Philine, when I keep the full color, because I know you prefer it. smile Hartstikke bedankt. You've already seen me with my big lens elsewhere.... HA!

Great to remember this wonderful meet-up.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. It was a wonderful day out with so many friends. We're so lucky!

Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! I love it, Bill. Thanks to you for helping me figure it all out!
Superbes couleurs qui prolongent l'été dans nos coeurs !!
Bien vue !!
Bonne journée.

Very colourful indeed - that 'sun-spot' leaps out of the screen!
Ginnie Hart: Thought it would cheer someone up today, Mike. smile Thanks.
You'd never get your boat mixed up with any others.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good point, Mary. smile Thanks.

Fantastic vivid colors Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Kala. Had to keep things bright today. TGIF! smile
You and I are at different ends of the spectrum today Ginnie. Great colourful shot and I enjoyed looking at your slideshow.
Ginnie Hart: We sure are, Janet. WOW! Thanks. smile
Oh, I love the bright colors and setting of this shot Ginnie. Such vivid color makes me happy! A good start to the weekend, I'd say :^)
Ginnie Hart: Great, Doug. That was exactly what I had in mind. smile Thanks. Have a great one.
What a beautiful bright color indeed. Excellent boat friday!
Ginnie Hart: It felt good to brighten things up a bit, Sue. smile Thanks.
Great colours! I esp. like the tyre stuffed with rope up the front.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Wim, and me, too. It was the first time I'd seen that. smile
Yep, you're right, Ginnie, we both went for lots of colour today. The painter of this boat seems to have dipped his brush into a nursery school paint box. Love it!

Your pictorial of the Dudley meet up is the next best thing to being there. Thanks so much for posting it.
Ginnie Hart: Lots of color is sometimes good for the soul, Beverly. smile Kids seem to know what it's all about. Thanks!
This canal boat is so colourful and bright.

There's a canal boat book shop in London.

I guess you can find something similar in Holland too. Perhaps a canal boat coffee house? Ha!
Ginnie Hart: Canal boats for just about anything, LC, yes, but these in England were so much more narrow than the ones we see here in Holland. Thanks.

I love these boats - and there are many not far from me.
The bright primary colours and the various painted designs were traditionally used to make the boats easily identifiable when there were many more of them.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for that added info, Debb. It was so fun to see these because they're different from the canal boats we see in Holland.
Nice detail shot Ginnie, and the AV (without the A) looks does us all proud.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Les. I saw some good shots of you in there, even if I say so myself. smile
It is very colorful and an interesting looking working boat for Boat Friday Ginnie.... i would like to see the rest of it someday....petersmile

that was a great collection shots of the people from our Dudley meet-up.... i am jealous that i could not attendsmile
Ginnie Hart: I'm not even sure I have the whole boat, Peter! I was so enthralled by the bumper on this that I just stopped there! HA. Maybe one of these years you and Penny can join us in England. Start saving your nickels. smile

Looking at your clip, I started wondering why are everybody in the pictures hung with cameras. Must some kind of a ritual about to take place smile

Quite a nice boat for Friday.
Ginnie Hart: A ritual indeed, Louis. I'm sure we were quite the spectacle. smile Thanks.

Indeed, very colourful, Ginnie. Looks like some less than tradition materials used on the barge with the tie and the aluminium green cover thing.

I'm going to have to leave the video until another days as I only just have an internet connection in tonight's hotel (and that is just from the bathroom!) I'm in a Marriott early next week so all should be fine from there.
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes color is good, Alan, isn't it! smile Thanks.

Are you really in Oregon right now? WOW!
I love the brilliant colours. And the slide show is very cool.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Michael. It was a great day!
jolie les couleurs
passe d'agréables moments et bisous
Ginnie Hart: The colors were so childlike, Angevine. Merci.
Those colors are totally stunning....a lovely picture Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Pavan. This was one time I had to keep the colors brilliant! smile

j'aime le cadrage et la couleur
LoLO
Ginnie Hart: Merci, dear LoLO. It was a very colorful boat, for sure! smile
Muy nítida y con unos colores muy llamativos, buen angulo de vista.

Un abrazo!!!
Ginnie Hart: Muchas gracias, MA. It was hard to resist this one.
Oh, my! It makes me smile to see this one. I love my boats, but there's too much white fiberglass and stainless steel to my taste. Of course, we have a hard time with wooden boats here in these warm waters - there are "critters" who like nothing better than to infest and eat the wood!

Sometimes, practicality has to trump tradition and beauty!
Ginnie Hart: Practicality and priorities! The way of life and boats, Linda, for sure. I certainly understand about the heat and the bugs and am quite glad we don't have to put up with that much of either here in the Netherlands! I love you love your boats. I bet they love you, too, and all your TLC!

Loved the film Ginnie - and I thought most bloggers were young things...!

And really like the colour, detail and reflections of the boat..
Ginnie Hart: Don't you just love how so many of us are of the older generation, George?! smile Maybe it has to do with cameras?? I love it. Thank you.
