Exit Strategy

Tomorrow Astrid and I fly to England to spend time with Chris for 6 days.

We feel so darn lucky to have so many SC friends to see...our second year in a row.

In case you can still make it, remember the meet-up in Dudley on Sunday.

See you again when we return.

This is the 1597 Dalempoort gate in Gorinchem, Netherlands.

This image is sooo beautiful smile

I hope you have a good time over here in England smile

What time is the meet up? It isn't to far away and depending on the time I may be able to make it.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Cherry, and ohhhhhhh. It would be so wonderful if you can come to Dudley on Sunday. The meet-up is at noon at the pub (see link in text above). You would be my second V&V collaborator to meet and you would make my day!!!! Please.
A wonderful image Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Frances.

Superb image! Exit, or Entrance?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ray, and it depends. smile It's one of the ports into our citadel city. Likewise out!

Great photo.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Debb!
Another beauty, Ginnie. The exposure is perfect; must have been a challenge with the light/dark contrast.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Patrushka. Well, you know how Photoshop can work its magic when we don't get it right!

Fabulous picture and wonderful treatment.
This is the last and only exit left from the original city-wall, this one was made in 1597.
The picture was taken some years later of course.
I can see Napoleon walk through, as if time stood still.
It will be a wonderful time again in England, meeting SC family again.

Ginnie Hart: I woke up this morning and realized I hadn't mentioned where this was, so I have just added it to my text. Bedankt! It's one of my favorite spots along our city wall. It's still hard to get my head around the 1597 date!

We will have so much fun in England. We are so lucky!!!

a lovely broad portal (at first I thought we were in a watercastle in the Münsterland- maar we zijn bij onze lieve buren!)- a fine pavement - and your well- known warm toning! I wish you a wonderful time together with Chris, his wife on their farm and with all the SC'ers you will be meeting!
Ginnie Hart: This is one of my favorite spots along our citadel wall, Philine. When you walk through the gate, you do indeed go out to the Merewede River. A lot of people take their dogs out there for a nice romp in the grass.

And yes, you can imagine how much we're looking forward to our time with Chris and all the other SCers we get to see again. Bedankt for your well wishes.

This is "way out" as our hip American friends would say! I like the hints of the brickwork inside the passageway leading to the door.

Alas, I can't make Sunday;s trip to Dudley but Chris did mention the possibility of meeting up in Winchester during the week, but that's dependent on my work.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for your comment, Alan. We both would LOVE to see you if your work allows. I'll cross my fingers.... smile

Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Mary. We plan to have a great time again, like last year. Maybe one year you can make it?! That would be very nice.
Fantastica foto, me encanta como siempre la edición que les das.
Esta puerta hoy tiene para mi un significado muy especial, una salida al mundo real.....

Gracias y un abrazo!!!

Love this one - the sunshine reaching into the darkness is an open invitation to step outside and follow the path. Have a great time on your visit - unfortunately I won't be able to make it to Bath as I have other commitments next week.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ingrid. Sorry we'll miss you this time around but we still have great memories from last year!

Another classic Ginnie, Elaine and I may well turn up at Dudley we so enjoyed our trip there early this year, look out for the authentic fish and chips
Ginnie Hart: Oh, great, Martin. We would love to meet you and Elaine. YAAY!!!!!!
A fine outlook through the gates. It looks a very attractive building on the link.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Brian, and yes, it's one of my favorite landmarks on my almost-daily citadel walk. Looking forward to seeing you and Maureen on Sunday!

6 days in the hands of Chris (figuratively speaking). I hope you have your valiums with you.

Excellent picture.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! It's gonna be a hoot, no doubt about it. The saving grace is that we all have our serious side as well as our funny bone! smile Thanks, Louis.

This looks a magnificent gate Ginnie and very well photographed. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? yes of course there is. I am not sure about your title 'Exit strategy' though. I know what you mean but it seems to co-notate with suicide.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks,Chad, and YES, it's one of my favorite lanmarks for where we live. I can see what you mean by my title. Let's just say this is the alternative to suicide! smile
A nice exot shot indeed! Wish you a lot of fun and great photos in UK!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Wim. We are really looking forward to it. Are just about ready to leave the house.... smile
The world outside beckons, nice image.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, John. That's what I meant by the title. smile Thanks.
