Dubbel Proost

Astrid and I aren't big beer drinkers,

but every once in awhile you just want a cold one!

From De Koningshoeven Trappist Brewery near Tilburg, Netherlands.

(La Trappe Dubbel is 7% ABV)

Enjoy your weekend.

Same here... once in a while you just need a cold one. ... Ginnie... I really like the treatment... especially with the dark spots on the right.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Jacquelyn. Not that it's been hot enough here lately to need one, mind you!

Happy weekend.

not sre what it is ... but it looks like a very cool beer tap !!!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Dennis, at a Trappist Abbey not far from where we live. Maybe the best beer I've ever tasted!

true, true.. especially with this heat we're experiencing, a big, cold one helps.. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Rian. It hasn't been hot enough here lately but a cold one always seems timely. smile
You obviously took this before you drank your pint- 'cause it's just lovely!
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Elizabeth, I think you're right. grin Thanks.
I like the angle and the reflections on the taps Ginnie....your DOF and texture makes it great....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Peter. Some of the best beer I've ever tasted! smile

smile HA, there is a difference between just beer and 'Pilsner'.
We talk about quality when we talk about 'La Trappe'.
You captured this beautiful in the same mood as the taste of that 'La Trappe Dubbel'...fabulous... Proost.
TGIF.
Ginnie Hart: And there's a difference between beer and Trappist beer! This Dubbel was probably the best beer I've ever had, period! Bedankt, MLMA. smile

This is potent stuff Ginnie: I think Chad might be drinking some on his blog today
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Chris. He didn't tell you that we called each other???
7% is serious beer!
Ginnie Hart: You've got that right, Bill!! The best beer I've ever tasted! smile
Haha, the best beer in Holland!!Those monks certainly knew their brewing! Have you seen the abbey? Have you tasted the cheese too? Both beautiful. Somepeople like to spoil their trappist with a gulp of grenadine/squash on the bottom of the glass. Those people should get life inprisonment, wasting a beautiful beer like that wink
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Marion. We visited the abbey earlier in the year and plan to go back in August when we have guests visiting us from Atlanta. The food is fabulous there, as well as the best beer I've ever tasted. Worth every cent spent! Bedankt.

Ja, ja, the monks brought the civilization to us and made the best sorts of beer, cheese, and...- they knew how to life in a healthy way - but then to indulge in silence and meditation or half- sleepy relaxation like the trappists - a fine photo full of warm toning. (In early August I'll visit a Benedictine monastery where I hope to enjoy some good food and drinking, too)
Ginnie Hart: It's hard not to smile about the whole memory, Philine. smile We will take our American friends when they visit in August. Bob will love it because he makes his own beer at home. Enjoy your own visit around the same time, I see. smile Bedankt.

I think a cold beer is good but I can't drink it because it contains gluten. Well captured Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Gotta pay attention to such things, Frida, I know. Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: Every once in awhile it does seem to hit the spot, Alan. Thanks.
And a beer ginnie, without foam(moss) please... kisses
Ginnie Hart: I'll do my best for you, Pierrot. smile Merci.
I love the DOF as well as the POV...
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Chantal.
Great DOF and perspective, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Shahzeb. And welcome again to SC!

Is this beer from Belgium Ginnie? some of them are lethal
Ginnie Hart: No, Chad, this is from a Trappist's abbey not too far away from us near Tilburg. Trust me, we'll be going back again. It was the best beer I've ever tasted. smile
No wonder you dont see many Trappist Monks about after drinking this at 7% Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA. Good point, Mick. It was the best beer I've ever tasted. I can imagine what the Tripel at 8% must be like. smile
And you can't beat a genuine Trappist!
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Tom. It was the best beer I've ever had! Thanks.

A pint of Trappist Monk sounds favourite to me ;o) Mind you I usually favour Bellringer these days ;o)
Ginnie Hart: I haven't tasted a better beer in my life, Mike...but then, I've never had a Bellringer. smile
Trappist beer, now there's a thing, that won't make unnecessary talk any easier! Especially for the Trappistines (sorry I'll give myself a good talking too) smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! It was the best beer I've ever tasted, John, and I plan to go back soon for some more. grin Thanks.
I do live dis shot.. Nice angle..
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Emmanuel.
Ever tried a Trappist? A great beer, do not dring on an empty stomach though!
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Wim. This is the best beer I've ever tasted. We had the Dubbel. smile
There are times when one is very welcome. Nice shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Janet. Thanks. smile

Wonderful image! I like beer so I'd gladly have a sip of this one smile
Have a great week end you too!
Ginnie Hart: You'd love this Trappist beer, Sil. smile The best I've ever had. Great weekend to you, too.
European beer is always so cold and I just love that little topping of froth the bartenders usually take off with a little wooden spatula, for me it has to be Jupiler of course.
Ginnie Hart: Sounds like you have it all down pat, Brian. smile Thanks.

Trappist beer is one of my favourites in Holland and Belgium. So I am roped in, too.
The trapist beers I know comes in single at up to 6%, double at up to 10% and then the famous tripple at 14%. You do drink one tripple and not too fast. Many brands with some minor differences.

This is a cool shot and an excellent conversion. It reminds me of an Amsterdam's bruin cafè. Ask Astrid to take you to one.
Ginnie Hart: This is hands down the best beer I've ever had, Louis. I'm ready to go back for some more. grin And oh yes, I've been inside one of those Amsterdam briun cafes. Very cool ambiance.
Did someone say "cold one"?
When you want one you want one, or two. smile

Nice shot and processing, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: HA! So true, Jimi. And this was the best I've ever tasted! Thanks.
I could just fancy a pint of that Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Les. smile
I prefer Guinness. wink
The black stuff! Ha smile
Ginnie Hart: I've had that, too, LC, just to say I did it. HA! But this Trappist Dubbel is the best beer I've ever tasted! Thanks.

That brings back memories of Bruges/Brugge for me smile

I am not a beer drinker but well you do have to sample the local food and drinks...

I found the taste quite appealing smile
Ginnie Hart: I'm more of a red wine drinker, Cherie, but a nice beer often hits the spot, so I know what you mean. And yes, Belgium is the place to drink it. But this Trappist beer not far from us is the best I've ever tasted.
I'm a big beer drinker and there's no beer like been on tap in Europe..there's no substitute smile. Love the image and this tap photo brings back great memories of my travels there! Thanks Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Nik. I find you never have to worry about what comes out of the European taps. grin So glad this conjures up some good memories for you.
It is always a bonus to get a tasty shot while enjoying a tasty brew.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Michael. Exactly! smile Thanks.

J'adore ta photo et en plus je suis amatrice de bonne biere. Je les préfère ambrées comme la couleur de ta photo, rousses ou brunes, avec un peu de mars de whisky c'est pas mal non plus.

Belle journée LoLO
Ginnie Hart: It sounds like you know your stuff, LoLO! smile Merci.
