perfect lazy ripples in the water....great capture
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Jakki. The lazy days of summer!
I like the tones in this Ginny--and I like the sentiment!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Dawn.
Very nice shot with that low golden sun.
Ginnie Hart: That you, dear Michael. I love that time of the early morning.
That is exactly what i did today Ginnie...at least for a while....but "My Toy" is a nicer boat lolgrin....great shot...nice reflections....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Boys and their toys! HA! At our cottage we mainly stand on the dock and fish from there...and catch some good bass! smile Thanks, Peter.

WOW, that is a wonderful shot, I cannot wait for myself to try some fishing in that lake next year smile
I have to admit, I'd rather be fishing today, but work calls.
Love the rimples/reflections in the water.
Is there a farm behind the trees?
Ginnie Hart: Next year, indeed, we will fish for bass from the dock at the family cottage. Maybe we'll even go out in the rowboat. smile Abd yes, there are farms all around Horseshoe Lake. It's part of the charm of the place. Hartstikke bedankt. (Thanks for going to work faithfully!)

Oh, a wonderfully atmospheric picture taken early in the morning - a real idyll with lovely reflections in the lake. Ja, ook jullie een fijn weekeind toegewenst - na de hevige stormen die we gisteren moeten beleven alsof de herfst was al begonnen.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Philine. This is such a typical scene we see every day at the family cottage during the summer months!

We have had those same storms all week but today it appears to be calm with a shining sun. We've had to put on our long-sleeved T-shirts and sweatshirts again. It still amazes me...in the dead of the summer!
Great way to spend theday!!! And as always, beautifully captured. Have a great weekend. have you seen my Orang Otang from yesterday?? I am really proud of that one!
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Marion. And thanks for the heads-up about your Orang Otang. smile

Ginnie Hart: Maybe even for breakfast, Fabrizio. grin Grazie.

I tried leaving a comment on your site but it wouldn't allow me. It said I have javascript disabled, but I'm sure I don't?!
Any ritual that would get you outdoors first thing in the morning is fine with me.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Mary. smile Thanks.

Well while they are sat fishing they are not burning fuel and making a noisy nuisance of themselves.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good, cheap way to think about it, Chad. smile Thanks.

Yes, the business of fishing. I always wondered about that. What makes it so special. Even I like doing my fly fishing once a year smile

Great composition and conversion.
Ginnie Hart: It's just therapeutic, Louis. And quiet! smile Thanks.
You see that building in the background?
Is that your "cottage"? wink
Boy, you've got a huge house, G. wink
Take me to MI with you next time, will you? smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! We see that from our 'beach,' LC. It looks like a lovely farm. smile Thanks.

So peaceful and beautiful. Such gorgeous light!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, dear Marcie. It's part of why we like the cottage so much. smile
Not for me but it looks very peaceful Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Fishing does tend to be peaceful, Bill, especially on a lake, as opposed to the ocean. I'm getting the hankering to go again. smile
Peace & serenity in the morning hours; lovely.

I'm amazed at the size of that motor, Ginnie. Hope it is not too loud as to disturb the quietude.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Beverly. I think it's all show and no go. They probably get there, shut it off, and then relax quietly the rest of the time. smile Thanks.
It beats going to the supermarket. Lovely peaceful shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Janet. Thanks. smile

Relaxing... just what we all need. I LOVE how the water comes right up to the edge and seems to spill over onto us...
Ginnie Hart: I like how you put that, Margaret. Thank you.

I have since childhood been taught that you should sit down in the boat.
A peaceful and harmonious picture of the fishing men.

Have a nice day
Ginnie Hart: HA! Adults can always do the opposite of what they teach, right?! grin Thanks, Rolf.

Best of fishing, is the tasting!
Ginnie Hart: Definitely, Oscar. As long as I don't have to clean them, the actual fishing and catching is also fun for me. smile Gracias.
I knew what was in store when I saw the title, Ginnie.

Being a fisherman, this draws me in like a moth to a flame. LOL

Love the shot and the Bass boat. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Jimi. This brings back a song I heard a lot during my kids' younger years: "God loves to talk to boys while they're fishing." It brings a smile. smile

I used to do a lot of fishing as a youth, I liked the solitude and peace of it. Nice capture.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, John. Solitude and peace and good words for fishing. You have to be quiet and calm. smile
I'd rather be photographing... I can't catch fish...

nice capture..

i'd rather be eating the fish they catch.. ;D
Ginnie Hart: That, too, Rian! smile Thanks.
Beautiful scene Ginnie. Wonderful way to spend a relaxing time. Like the serene mood here. Excellent shot!
Ginnie Hart: It sure is a nice, lazy way to spend time outdoors, John. smile Thanks.
if i were a fish, i think i'd book a retreat to holland during the fourth of july, as far away from the michigan cottage as possible. but then i'd be a silly goose instead of a silly fish, i guess... geese DO fly east during the summer, don't they? north in the spring, south in the fall and west in the winter?
Ginnie Hart: A silly goose. No reason why you shouldn't be able to fly east during the summer time, Sera. We have a solar-activated zapper on our cottage beach to keep the geese away (from pooping on our grassy beachfront). So just fly on over. You'd feel very at-home here, joining all the other geese we have. smile Thanks for the lovely idea. We'd love to see you!
that's cool and a perfect time pass!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Joshi, and I agree. smile
Beautiful photo and it makes me want to go fishing as well smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Charles. Nothing like a good, quiet time of fishing. smile

Love the photo.. d they ever catch anyting? LOL
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Gale, and good question. I didn't see them catch anything while I was looking but my guess is they catch plenty. The lake is especially full of bass!
