Decisions, Decisions

In the shade it's still cold here but in the sun it's too warm for a winter coat.

A very nice predicament for these early days of spring!

Great detail and texture to the photo Ginnie, it reminds me of all the walks Kate and I have been on lately.
Ginnie Hart: I love walks like this, Peter, and when I'm out-n-about, I see so many people walking their dogs. Happy families! smile Thanks.

Very nice, Ginnie! almost like they're walking in front of a backdrop..
Ginnie Hart: The Merwede river is a great backdrop, Alex, for anyone's walk! Thanks. And it's so good to see you again...and your boys!

Oh, I just SO love this! You have captured a "moment". Just look how happy dog's tail.
Ginnie Hart: All the dogs I see on this walk are very happy, Margaret. It thrills me to no end to see them getting this kind of exercise! Thanks.
waoooowwwww...very beautiful Ginnie. i can feel cold air and cool in this photo.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Bram. It was a crisp day...the kind I like. smile

Great picture taken on one of our favourite walks around the citadel.
Holland is know for this period of time, frost in the morning and 'Summer' in the afternoon...
Ginnie Hart: It makes for a brisk walk, MLMA, until I have to take off my coat. I love our walk around the citadel here!
Lovely!! Great textures here!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marion.

But what a nice dilemma to have. I like the picture: excellent dof & lighting Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Who can complain, Chris, right?! Thank you kindly.
The oblique light of morning spark the whole image of a border of gold and Ginnie is superb! An image that blends the silvery mist and golden light! A beautiful richness!
Ginnie Hart: As always, Mathilde, thank you kindly! Merci.
A fine image,it's a great time of year with these temperature contrasts as long as you dress accordingly.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Martin. There's no such thing as bad weather...just bad clothes. smile Thanks.

We're moving towards a nice spring and summer, I hope.
Nice shot! It's in between seasons-time.
OT: you are very near the mill in Roderwolde on May 21th.
But first: enjoy your vacation!
Ginnie Hart: The in-between time is actually fun, Fokkio, because it's still the promise of spring. We are so looking forward to our vacation...and then we'll have you to look forward to. smile Bedankt.

Very nicely composed shot Ginnie. I particularly like the hazy trees on the far bank.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Ingrid. It often looks like this where we live.
If only all dilemmas were as easy to resolve ... although sometimes the most immediate and sometimes small decision is the most troublesome.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Richard. You're so right!
Such a nice relaxing feel to this shot.
Ginnie Hart: I love these walks, Mary. Relaxing is a good word for them. Thanks.
I like the low viewpoint here Ginnie. Methinks you got a wet tummy lying in the grass!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Actually, Pamela, this is a good example of a dijk and how there are raised walkways all over Holland. In this case, the dijk is a citadel wall that goes all around our city centrum. I was just at a lower part of the walk. smile

this is a difficult time of year to dress properly
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chantal!
Great walking weather at the moment, a nice moody capture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I agree, John, especially when the sun is shining...which it's been doing a lot of lately. We're lucky. smile Thanks.
Indeed, not easy to choose its clothes, ginnie would need to live stark naked kiss, a soft
Ginnie Hart: HA! Now that would be an idea, Pierrot, for sure. grin Merci.

Beautiful photograph Ginnie! We are having a similar problem at the moment. Last week our highs were in the 80's. Today is starting out at 42. I shouldn't complain though.
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Doug. It's kinda hard to complain after the rough winter. smile Thanks.
Still in igloos here, just going out with the huskies to get supplies.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA. Well, it's still hovering around 40 F in the shade and it's almost 3 p.m. here. But the sun has been shining most of the day. I can't complain, really. smile
J'aime beaucoup cette photo et son cadrage. Les nuances et la lumière sur les sujet est très belle. Photo reposante et tranquille.

Yes, you are right - in the morning it was fresh and I needed a woolen cap -then 10 and more grades Celsius are now coming up in the sun and I'll put off my coat...- we call this being dressed with 'Marke Zwiebel'/ Trademark Onion- stripping off one cloth after the other (till being naked?- oh no!). I like your picture much wonderfully capturing the light and the lovely atmosphere of a springday like now!
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Philine. You have described it perfectly...having to dress in layers like an onion. I like that. smile
Yes we have a lovely day today. This has a nice feel to it.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
A beautiful capture Ginnie of man (woman) and his/her best friend. Lovely composition and treatment. Well done.
Ginnie Hart: This time a man, Laurette, but no clue about the dog. grin Thank you.

The sun's warmth sure feels good these days. So nice to see people out enjoying the day.
Ginnie Hart: You're so right, Rob. Grab the rays while we can! Thanks.
A nice study of an early morning dog walker. It was quite cold here on Saturday but has warmed up again today
Ginnie Hart: It's hovering around 40 F in the shade today, Bill, even though the sun has been shining off and on since early morning. Still, spring is everywhere to be seen. smile Thanks.
At least Man & dog are walking on the grass verge, if nothing else, we still have snow. A lovely candid with neat vintage feel, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I know of several who still have snow, Alex. It amazes me. But I also recall snow in April in Michigan when I was a young-un. Hopefully not for long. Thanks.

At least the dog has a good coat smile
Ginnie Hart: You're right about that, Tom. smile

Stopped by to say hello... as you know I'm not a regular here but this image spoke to me so I had to speak back... somehow this seems to convey both a feeling of aloneness (the misty scene with only one human) and a feeling of companionship (because of the dog accompanying the person). As always... a treat to see one of your lovely images large size!
Ginnie Hart: You sure know how to make my day, Victoria. THANK YOU!

Nice pic Ginnie, but you have to feel sorry for the poor doggie - who can't take his or her coat off.

Great composition and treatment Ginnie....i would walk in the sun and carry my coatgrin .....Happy Monday....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes that's what you have to do, Peter, but a winter coat is harder to tie around the waist. smile Happy Monday, indeed. Thanks.
Do you know there's a Japanese saying about "indecisiveness" that goes something like a woman's heart is as fickle as the April weather?!

Talk about sexism. wink
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! I hadn't heard that one, LC. You're right...sexism. grin Thanks for the smile.

i am struggling too: what coat to wear?
Ginnie Hart: Today I started out with winter coat and gloves on...but ended up with gloves off and coat tied around my waist! Sigh. smile
A fine evocation of "a man and his dog". The backgound disappears beautifully.
Ginnie Hart: Man's best friend, as they say, Wim! Thanks.
A very descriptive, atmospheric shot, Ginnie.
