You have made the hardware gorgeous, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. smile
Ginnie, do you remember Gyro Gearloose of the Donald Duck comic books? This reminds me of his unusual inventions!
Ginnie Hart: That's one of the things I must have been deprived of in my youth, Patrushka. But I'll take your word for it. smile Thanks.

Fabulous picture.
Woercum is Woudrichem.
....and yes NOTHING will come in my way because it is Friday,
Love the colours and the light.
Lets go aboard and sail wink
Ginnie Hart: Gorcum is Gorinchem and Woercum is Woudrichem. Don't you love what the kids had to put up with in spelling class! I wonder why the Woercum boat is docked in Gorcum??? I know they're sisters....

Thanks, as always, and YES, it's Friday. I'm with you, wherever you go! smile

a finely processed and composed picture- a fine name - welzijn is quite more than wellness, one of the global English term that 'invaded' our country in an all-round-meaning - I like the words 'welzijn' and 'Wohlergehen'/'Wohl', and 'welfare'/'well-being'(a rather new word for me)
I like the following text I found in nl. Wiki summing up all aspects (sorry, a little morning lesson in Dutch!):

Ginnie Hart: I like this Wiki piece, Philine, and particularly the distinction between quality of life vs. standard of living.

"Well-being (quality of life) cannot be confused with prosperity (standard of living).... indicators of well-being belong not only material possession and employment, but also the environment, physical and sanity, education, recreation and social contacten."

Thank you for this wonderful addition to this post today!
De zon schijnt here.I hoop dat het ook voor u
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Bill. Today the sun is shining! smile
Excellent photo Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Roland. Merci.

A fine contribution to boat friday.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
Which general store(mess) on this boat, however your photo, nevertheless this equipment is not polluted, it is good thank you for estimating(appreciating) my slideshow ginnie, I like you, pass a good weekend, a height of bisoux soft...
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Pierrot. Merci. smile
Is this some sort of barge or on a landing stage? You've set a bit of puzzle here Ginnie. Just watching the news from Japan so it feels good not to be near water at the moment.
Ginnie Hart: It's the back end of a barge, John, near where we live. And yes, I've had CNN Int'l on all morning, listening to the devasting news out of Japan. I can't imagine the mess they will have to clean up. It breaks my heart....
Can almost smell the diesel. Nice capture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Janet. Actually, they're amost always docked in the same spot nearby us here but once in awhile they do go off running around. smile Thank you!
Just look at all that interesting machinery to play with.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Brian. Astrid says this is normal and everything has its purpose. smile

I am not sure what it is all about but it is a very interesting collection of "things"
Ginnie Hart: Astrid says everything is there for a purpose/reason, so I've decided to trust her on this one, Vintage. smile
You have captured this scene very well Ginnie. Looks like a very intresting boat. Is it a fishing boat ?
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Laurette. It's not a fishing boat but a freighter. But I wouldn't mind fishing off of it while carrying something from here to there. smile
nice barge with good hope!
Ginnie Hart: I think so, too, Joshi. smile Thanks.

I love the atmosphere of your photos Ginnie this picture is great smile
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, FotoS. Thank you.
De beaux détails de cette embarcation... J'aimerai beaucoup naviguer sur une péniche. Il existe aussi chez nous de belles balades à réaliser. Dans le sud de la France notamment.
Ginnie Hart: I agree, Olivier. It would be fun to take a ride on one of these. smile Merci.
Wonderful choice of subject Ginnie. It looks like an amazing contraption. Lots of character. I like the way you composed this image, and the red and green are vivid against the neutral tones.
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, Doug. Thank you.
That's some fearsome equipment. I hoop I don't get tangled or mangled in it! smile
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Larry! Thanks.
A lot of fione detail on a ship like this! Fine name for a ship too. I think this is the front part of a ship btw!?
Ginnie Hart: OMG, Wim. I just talked to Astrid and looked at my other pictures and she says you are so right! My bad! I'll change the above text right now! Thanks. See...what do I know about these things. grin

I like the contrast between the busy surface of the barge with so many things going on, and the relative calm of the water.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Mark. You're very observant. smile

You can certainly see that every piece of equipment on this barge is very well maintained, Ginnie. The tonal quality of the image is a perfect fit.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Beverly. Astrid tells me every single thing here has a purpose. None of it looks cluttered to her. smile

Good Karma!

This reminds me of the chorus; "It went "Zip" when it moved
and "Pop" when it stopped,
"Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will"
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHAHA! That's so fun, Rob. I'm not familiar with that saying but I love it!

i have no idea what it is but it looks so interesting!
Ginnie Hart: It's the front end of a barge (freighter boat) tied up at pier posts. It looks so cluttered but Astrid says everything has its place and purpose. So very Dutch. smile
