in this building indonesian is called KINCIR ANGIN (windmill). Windmill is a old technology that stills to useful till now. Amazing.
Ginnie Hart: I had no idea Indonesia has windmills, Bram! Many of the mills in The Netherlands are still being used today. This one, of course, has been converted into a Bed and Breakfast, which is another way of being used. I loved it! Thanks.

We had a wonderful time at this B&B, a great experience.
It was 'windmill-weather' as the miller would say, force 8 Beaufort.
Your picture from yesterday is facing to the right, my picture of today is facing left from where you took this picture.
Love the tones, very suitable for the weather we had.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Mijn Vrouw. I'll never forget this wonderful surprise for our first anniversary. How will we ever top it? grin

Wow, that was a real treat for a windmill aficionado. Did you know you were getting the whole floor?
Ginnie Hart: It was the best treat I can think of, Maria! We really did have the time of our lives. And no, I had no clue we were getting the entire floor, like a regular little apartment!

Awwww, that is just so nice!!!! Happy anniversar Ginnie and Astrid!!!!!

Ginnie, you should consider making a calendar out of all of those gorgeous windmill photos!
Ginnie Hart: I don't know how we're gonna top this next year, Marion. smile Thanks.

A calendar of windmills. Hmmm. That's an idea for sure. Maybe even WE would like one. smile Thanks for your vote of confidence.
What a great place to stay Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: It was wonderful in every way, Bill. We even ate our anniversary dinner there. smile

I bet that was good!
A beautiful picture of this mill. A lovely scene.
OT: I have made my HDR's from one original RAW too. smile
Have a nice day Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: And to think this mill is not that far away from you, Fokkio! It really was wonderful. Bedankt.

So, you and I do HDR the same way, I see. grin I love it.
Looks and sounds like a very romantic place to stay, and the wind must have made it exciting as well.
Ginnie Hart: The wind was everything, Sheila. We slept like babies. smile

Ginnie Hart: I know you can just imagine the feeling we had in staying here overnight, Philine. Those are 'eternalized moments' that one never forgets. Hartstikke bedankt.

A great idea to turn a windmill into a place to stay - I bet you were in seventh heaven!
Ginnie Hart: Seventh heaven, indeed, Ingrid. I'm surprised more mills don't do the same because I'm guessing a lot of foreigners would LOVE the experience...and maybe even some Dutch people, too!
These places often get converted into lovely homes. This one is very large.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, John, many mills have been converted into private residences. I have always wished I could go up, knock, and ask for a tour. In this case, we even got to stay!
Looks a great place to stay Ginnie , i bet you both had a ball.
Ginnie Hart: We had the time of our lives, Mick! smile Thanks.
Wow - what a great place to spend your anniversary. I hope you had a great time!
Ginnie Hart: We had the time of our lives, JP. I don't know how we'll ever top it. smile Thanks.
A lovely scene Ginnie. A beautiful picture of this Dutch windmill. Looks like a very romantic setting to have celebrated your anniversary. Have a wonderful day !!
Ginnie Hart: It was over-the-top wonderful in every way, Laurette. Having gale-force winds was the frosting on top of the cake. smile Thanks.
A very unique place for your anniverary Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it was, Ron, thanks to Astrid. We'll never forget it.

a very beautiful and romantic place for anniversary !!smile good!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Didier. It was wonderful in every way.
It certainly does seem to be a most unusual place to stay Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Not like any other place, Brian! smile Thanks.
So happy that you & Astrid got to celebrate your anniversary in this very special B&B, Ginnie. I would think that the gale force winds would make it seem extra cozy & snug. Truly, a wonderful memory to cherish.
Ginnie Hart: The wind was the frosting on the cake, Beverly, because we did feel so cozy inside...and slept like babies! Thank you.
i liked the old feel!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Joshi. So do I. Thank you.
This is a fantastic BB, where else than a windmill for you both. Congratulations smile
Ginnie Hart: I know, Linda. That Astrid sure knows me, doesn't she! smile Thanks.
Wonderful sépia Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Roland. Merci.
You were so fortunate Ginnie, you'll never forget the expreience. I guess if the sails had been going round it would have been very noisy
Ginnie Hart: We did hear some creaks and groans, Martin, so maybe the sails turned a bit. But it was just plain fun and cozy. Thanks.

very well composed, i love the sepia toning, it gives a sort of postcard look to it. Fantastic
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Krunal. These windmills feel like from another time altogether, don't they!
Sounds like you were as high as kites. So glad you both enjoyed your first anniversary so much.
Ginnie Hart: I love the way you put that, Janet, because that's exactly right...as high as kites. grin Thanks for the smile.
I hope you had an octagonal good time. smile
Ginnie Hart: A good time x 8. Yes, Larry, exactly. grin
A beautiful and finely restored mill. I like the little red in the post in the foreground.
Ginnie Hart: You would love this mill, Wim. It's closer to you than to us...only 135 km for you. Just think: you could take Marius for an overnight. grin

Bonsoir Ginnie. Superb capture. The texture is very beautiful. Great work Ginne. Have a lovely evening Ginnie. Amicalement Antoine.
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Antoine. Merci.
very nice shot
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Derek.
Of course, I can see you waving to us. (imagine!) Ha..

I would like to see its interior, are you going to post some?

By the way, is the lift powered by the wind turbine? wink
Ginnie Hart: Yes, LC, you can see us waving. smile We looked out of that window many times because of the canal that was there, with houses and boats. I do not plan to show images of the inside of our apartment here on SC but you can see them here from my other blog:
http://ginniehart.blogspot.com/2011/02/first-wedding-anniversary-part-i.html

Too bad there's no lift. It's all powered by your own feet getting to the very top! smile
That would be a wonderful place to stay.
Congratulations on the One Year!
Ginnie Hart: It was better than wonderful, Michael. We loved it. Thank you.
Always so happy to find you Ginnie, hard work and an exhibition hasty! In you life continues with this beautiful mill, I guess the emotion if the wings began to turn! How I see it one day!
Ginnie Hart: You are such a sweetheart, Mathilde. MERCI!
