Wouldn't You?

Say it fast, 10 times in a row.  :)

This rack of miniature wooden shoes sits inside at the bottom of the stairs

going to the top of De Vlijt windmill in Wageningen, Netherlands.

*chuckle*!

And yes, I did say it. And yes, it did work out right!
Ginnie Hart: Word-plays are so fun, Ellie, aren't they! smile Thanks.
Klompje hier, klompje daar, klompje, klompje hop falderiere....

Ever since Paul de Leeuw sang this sung in his stand up com show I can't look at wooden shoes without bursting into spontaneous singing out loud of the very tune!! I am sure it is on YouTube somewhere. Your image is lovely!!! Many memories!
Ginnie Hart: Astrid will help me find the song, Marion. We have often watched Paul de Leeuw together, and even in Dutch, I can usually follow him. How fun. Every language has it's word-plays. I LOVE IT. Thanks.
Oh, I only see the title now grin Hilarious!!!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Titles can sometimes be important, Marion. grin

Magical use of light Ginnie that creates such a wonderful mood in this image. A beautiful capture of these lovely wooden shoes.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, John. I'm such a glutton for these Dutch icons! smile

Cute pair on top. This photo made me think of that tune; "These shoes were made for walking"...
Ginnie Hart: Awwww. I love it when an image brings a song to mind. Thanks, Rob.

Do people still wear these things Ginnie or is this sort of thing just for show?
Ginnie Hart: Yes, some people still wear the real thing, Chris, but the rest of us buy the little trinkets for old-time's sake. grin

Haha, a fine composition - this could be the klompjes of the seven little gnomes/dwarfs or the diligent Kölner Heinzelmännchen who helped once the miller and his wife! We have really the feel of living in good, old times - thanks to your processing! Thanks also to Marion and your reply and I googled: http://www.lyricstime.com/paul-de-leeuw-urks-klompendansje-lyrics.html -but I cannot say it fast, 10 times in a row!

Ginnie Hart: Astrid played the song for me first and now I have just tried to say the Knaap zinnetje. HOW FUN. I love stuff like this, Philine. grin Hartstikke bedankt.
a pair for all sizes!!!! nice week end Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: HA! Indeed, Fabrizio. Grazie. smile
I would never have guessed you could get one of these.
Ginnie Hart: You can get as many as you want, Chad! smile

A great photograph. Nice subject.
Ginnie Hart: I'm a glutton for stuff like this, Shaun. smile Thank you.
not a cat person? you said nothing about my new kitten i got today sad tho i know the way my dog was sitting was quite distracting lolol these wooden shoes are so cute, i can't imagine wearing them on the other hand lol
Ginnie Hart: The wooden shoes have their place, Elaine, (out in the fields, for example) but I'm guessing you'd really have to get used to them!

To tell you the truth, I should have said something about your adorable kitty but the dog totally stole my heart. Next time you'll just have to do one picture at a time! grin Actually, I did notice that they both were sitting up and looking at you, which had a certain synchronicity to it. smile
I think wooded shoes would about do my feet in. Very nice image.
Ginnie Hart: Mine, too, Mary. I'm not sure they make them narrow enough??? smile Thanks.

the gentle light pouring onto them is beautiful Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Heather.
I like this, it reminds me of one of those mug trees only for clogs.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Brian Those 'trees' have many good uses. smile Thanks.
Like the word play Ginnie. They look very sweet but I'm sure my poor feet would object in no uncertain terms but just guessing
Ginnie Hart: They'd even be too small for your fingers, Janet, so you can ease your mind. smile Thanks.

Very pretty shoes, the same as my grandfather was in time. Ginnie great day.
Ginnie Hart: They sure had their place in history, Tede, didn't they! How fun. Thanks.
Ha ha... Clever pun!
Do you also own a pair of wooden clogs? smile
Ginnie Hart: I do love plays on words, LC. smile I don't own a pair of real wooden clogs (just miniatures like these) but Astrid does. She actually wore them for one year in high school, just to be wild and different! smile
I've got the same. I bought them in "Auvergne". Beautiful atmosphere. A+ VAL
Ginnie Hart: They are such fun souvenirs of the Dutch icon, Valérie. I love them, real and in miniature both. smile

Saying it ten times fast in English is no prob. Maybe it's more difficult in Dutch?

Whatever Ginnie, I really like the image, it's quite inspiring.
Ginnie Hart: I'm guessing it'd be altogether different in Dutch, Goerge, for sure. smile Thanks.
There used to be a 'klompenmaker'in every village wih a stand of poplars near. Not many wear them daily anymore though. It is not easy to get used to these hard thing, tthey are esp. hurting your instep.
Ginnie Hart: Did I ever tell you, Wim, that Astrid wore wooden sgoes an entire year while in high school, just to be different...and a bit wild. smile She said you do get used to them. HA! So fun. Bedankt.
