Fast Boat to China

The fast flying ferry from Amsterdam to IJmuiden, Netherlands, flies up to 65 kph on the North Sea Canal.

Not bad for a hydrofoil...and Boat Friday!

happy weekend.
Ginnie Hart: This was definitely one time when I wanted the full saturated color, Maria. I love pea green. grin Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Beautiful light, I love the grey tones and the yellow green of the boat. A+ VAL smile
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Valérie. This time I had to keep the full color of the boat. smile

love the selective colour, nice details and that boat moves at a great speed.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Leanne. It does move right along at a steady clip...but can almost stop on a dime. It was fun.

I like the pea green too! Oh, the word AMSTERDAM evokes some verlangen naar deze stad weer te gaan! Misschien in de herfstmaanden! Toch wanneer komen jullie naar Münster?
Ginnie Hart: You are reminding me that we need to settle on a date for visiting you in Münster, Philine. Maybe we can do that soon?! Thank you!

That was a fun ride and it was not too bad we had to wait for our ride/flight/float, now at least we had full view of one coming and going, that was a great sight...yes it flies...
Great picture, the colour reminds me of a little dear car we own... wink grin....
Ginnie Hart: Funny thing is, Astrid, I never once thought of our car. Can you believe that??? Yes, it sure was a fun ride, wasn't it!
Green for GO. And at 65 mph it definitely goes.
Ginnie Hart: It was "all GO" for us, Odd. Lots of fun. Actually, it was only 65 kph, which is 40 mph. But still fast!
follow the waves!!!!, nice point of vieux
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Fabrizio...and grazie.
well, that is some fast 'driving'... never took it myself
Ginnie Hart: Well worth the money spent, Chantal. smile
Looks like a good boat ride Ginnie, love the pping.
Ginnie Hart: It was delightful, Mick. Thanks.

Terrific capture, Ginnie, and such a striking colour! (:o) I
Ginnie Hart: Astrid reminded me that this is the color of our car. I knew there was a reason I liked it, Roz. grin Thank you.
Now that is some ferry boat, we could do with a few of these on the Mersey. I wonder if they charge less for riding outside. Nice one Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I could see these beauties all over the place on the right rivers, Les. I wonder how many of these exist around the world? I'd pay less for riding outside...on a good say! smile Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: Boat Friday is so much fun, Vintage. smile
Never seen one of those before. You have just got to have a ride in it. Nice one Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It was new to me, too, Janet. Very fun and practical. Thanks.
Genial, un desaturado selectivo perfecto!!

Besos!!
Ginnie Hart: And you're a sweetheart, MA! Gracias.
I suspect the green colour almost matches your little car Ginnie. I bet this was an enjoyable ride.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it does, Brian, almost exactly. smile No wonder I love it. Thanks.

Looks like it'd be a ton of fun to ride on one of these. Love your choice of selective coloring!
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Marcie. Very fun. smile Thanks a million.
Nice very nice Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Sue, for stopping by and commenting.
Love the colour toning you have used Ginnie, it shows the boat so well with it sprays of water smile
Ginnie Hart: This was one time I had to keep the color, Linda...at least of the boat. smile Thanks.
I can feel the speed & the light makes it very nice with this special green. I didn't understand why to China (sorry, dumb me ? wink) Have a great week-end*
Ginnie Hart: There is a phrase we use in America about a "slow boat to China," Karine, when something is taking a long time. So this was just a play on that phrase. Sorry about that. Here's a link from Google:

Thanks for asking and thanks for your comment. No question is dumb, as you know. smile You, too, have a great weekend.

Nice work with the selective color. Difficult to describe this color; lime green perhaps?
Ginnie Hart: Our car is the same color, Rob, and we call it Granny Towanda: Granny for granny-apple green and Towanda from "Fried Green Tomatoes." smile Thank you.

Boat Friday - I love it! I'll have to come up with a regular theme but it can't be boats - too few and far between here!

This picture just looks fun. I like the action in it a lot. I wouldn't have guessed this was a hydrofoil unless you said so!
Ginnie Hart: We caught this one leaving because it was too full for us, Mark. We had to wait till the next one came but in the process got some good pictures. Fun for us. And yes, a hydrofoil for sure. I had no clue how it worked. It was a good experience. Thank for your comment!

Love this image Musketeer, I can just see the three of us racing around in thatsmile Hope you have a good weekend.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Wouldn't that be fun. I love the thought. Take care, Musketeer and have a good weekend.
I love the color of the boat...
Ginnie Hart: I'm glad, Larry, because it's also the color of our little car. grin Thanks.
What is that Boat Friday thingy??
Anyway, I like the colour onthe boat a lot, and the pov is lovely as well!!
Ginnie Hart: Vintage started it, Marion, a long time ago. Every Friday he has an image of a boat. So some of us remember it if we, too, happen to have a boat on Friday. After you've been in the community awhile, you start anticipating what everyone else is doing. smile

Greta use of selective coloring and superb shot of this boat, it sure gets up to a good speed, faster than I would have expected it to

Is this on "auto -pilot"?..I can see the movement but the 2 seats look empty...no human heads to see...

Good one Ginnie....did you beat Vintage to the punch with this one.....lol...petersmile
Ginnie Hart: I don't think I ever beat Vintage to the punch but I sure do think of him on Fridays! smile Thant's what's fun about our SC community here. Thanks, Peter.
And that is very cool processing.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Michael. This was fun to do.
Cuckoo Ginnie, today my note is full of tenderness, you will see kiss, good weekend...
Ginnie Hart: The weekend is off to a good start, Pierrot. smile Merci.
Whooh in China? Then go faster by bike!! I think the book by Bernard Olivier has traveled 12,000 miles on foot on the Silk Road! This boat is very unusual and it must be fun to travel on board!
Bon WE Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: There is a phrase we use in America, Mathilde, about a "slow boat to China," when something is taking a long time. So this was just a play on that phrase. Are you familiar with it, I wonder?
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-slow-boat-to-china.htm

This would certainly be faster than 12,000 miles on foot on the Silk Road. But wouldn't THAT be an amazing journey! Good WE to you, too!
Must be a nice way of transport, I think. I must do it one day too! Your photo indicates some of the speed.
Ginnie Hart: You'd love the adventure, Wim. A nice way to get across your country on that North Sea Canal. smile Bedankt.

Excellent use of colour and lots of action captured here.

These really are fast flying boats, Ginnie. Some years back we took one from Italy to Croatia. It was so much fun. I sat in the back much of the way just to watch the trail it left in its wake.
Ginnie Hart: That sounds like so much fun, Beverly. I wouldn't mind taking another one day. Who knows where?! Thanks.
