Alors, bonne vacance, et des beaux temps aussi!!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, dear Marion. We're like little kids ready to pee in our pants, we're so excited. smile
Now that's a working man!

Have a terrific time in France, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Can you imagine driving the train back-n-forth all day between point A and point B for all those hundreds of tourists wanting to take your picture! At least we were early in the day when he was still fresh. smile Thanks, Beverly.
Looks like a fun job--have a great trip, you two smile
Ginnie Hart: All day long, back-n-forth between two points, taking tourists to the model-train pavilion! smile All those cameras pointing at him! He was a good sport. Thanks, Larry.

A Village People...perhaps he lost his way.

Great portrait, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: HA! There was no way he could lose his way that day, Ray, as he went back-n-forth all day long between two points on the track in Dordrecht...to the model-train station and back to the train station. It was so fun. Thanks.
summer vacation from school, yay!!! bet you haven't said that in a while lol like this pic alot sister...
Ginnie Hart: LOL, indeed, Elaine. It's been a long time since I've said that. grin Thanks for the smile!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rawhide_(TV_series)
A great picture to go with the occasion, the only thing is we will be driving ourselves.
He really looks like he knows how to do the job.....
Ginnie Hart: He was such a good sport, MLMA, all day long, I'm sure, back-n-forth, back-n-forth. I wonder how many tourists got a similar picture of him!

Yes, we will do our own driving this time...but you know how much I do love the train, in its own time and place. smile Tot gauw!

Village people

Bises LoLO
Ginnie Hart: Yup. So fun. Merci, LoLO. smile
I have one more week at work and then....vacation smile

Nice portrait, I like that you just can see his eyes under the cap, and the glove is a nice detail too
Ginnie Hart: He was so nonchalant about the whole thing, Aksel. So suave and debonaire. smile Enjoy your vacation when it comes. I know we will! Thanks.
welcome!

A lovely study Ginnie: he's the real deal alright. I hope my little sister & yourself have a lovely week in France
Ginnie Hart: I think he was a very proud man to be showing off his engine, Chris! And yes, your little sister and I will totally enjoy ourselves next week. smile
Great shot Ginnie. Have a lovely holiday
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Bill. We're really looking forward to it. smile

You well earned your summer vacation! A fine picture (with the reflection) of the worker and the loc, I only wonder that his face is not black-dirty from all the smoke- I remember to have seen as child only black faces when the men looked out of their window and sometimes greeted me! Ik wens jullie een heel mooie reis -Bon voyage!
Ginnie Hart: This will be Astrid's first full week of vacation since she visited me in Atlanta a year ago, Philine. She is so ready for this, as am I, of course. It was still early enough in the day (late morning) when I took this picture. Maybe he WAS black at the end of the day?? Bedankt voor jouw Bon Voyage!

Zo stoomt je een nieuwe avontuur binne. Genietse.
Have you passed the dutch course in the meantime, or is it school holidays? smile
Ginnie Hart: This will be a wonderful adventiure for me, Louis...my first time traveling by car in France outside of Paris. My Dutch studies don't end until May of next year, so this is just zommer vakantie. I will actually still go back 3 weeks when the school is open, even though I don't have to. I want to make sure I stay on top of things!
Superb potrait Ginnie. Well done!.
Enjoy your trip in France.
Ginnie Hart: Merci and merci, Richard. We are really looking forward to our time away!
I wondered what happened to the Village People.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I guess you're not the only one! grin
Sorry, I see that LoLO beat me to that one.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chad. smile
He looks a bit like some movie hero who has just outrun or otherwise disposed of the villain!

Enjoy your trip to France. Good place to practice your Dutch LOL smile smile smile
Ginnie Hart: Don't we love to tell the stories when we see images like this, Sheila!

I will definitely be speaking Dutch a lot, believe it or not, especially with our Dutch friends. I NEED to! And with Astrid, too...we will have long stretches of only Dutch speaking! smile
Hello Ginnie,
a very beautiful realization, a good portrait, spends a beautiful day, well with you.Roland
Ginnie Hart: He was a good sport about us taking his picture, Roland. smile Merci.

Ha en riktigt trevlig semester Ginnie. ;-)
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Frida. We're both so looking forward to this vacation.
Have a great time you two. I'm sure you will.

I like the portrait. He looks very reliable and you could trust him with your life.
Ginnie Hart: We did and he proved us right, Janet. grin Thanks a million.
Train driver by day , Gay pole dancer by night.Have a good holiday the pair of you.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! I always wonder how you know these things, Mick. grin Thanks.
Enjoy your break Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. We plan to!
Looks as though he could push that thing along by hand! Enjoy your trip - but, after 8 weeks, isn't it time you started titling these things in Dutch, to make us work a little? smile I have a friend who was prof. of town planning in Sheffield, but who had also worked in the same role in a Dutch university - everyone was happy to talk English at staff meetings for the first six months, then they assumed he would know Dutch and English disappeared as an option smile
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! You know what they say: be careful what you ask for! grin Actually, during the 8 weeks off I have the option of still going to school while it's open for 4 weeks, which I plan to do. I don't want to lose my momentum! Thanks, Tom. Hartstikke bedankt.
I'd get bored after one tripgrin Have fun down south.
Ginnie Hart: Maybe two or three for me, Nigel. But I'd give my best pose nonetheless. smile Thanks. We are really looking forward to our trip.
Great shot Ginnie, enjoy your break away.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks and thanks, Brian! We are so ready.
I like the carton of milk. It adds a nice contrast to everything else.
Have a wonderful time in France, you lucky girl.
Ginnie Hart: That carton added a touch of reality to the shot, I thought, Michael. smile Thanks. We're really looking forward to our trip.
He looks so proud being the engine driver, he would love this on his wall, great shot Ginnie smile
Ginnie Hart: Awww, thanks, Linda. He sure was a good sport about it. smile
A fantastic portrait with fabulous composition and processing...great work Ginnie and have a great trpsmile

Ginnie Hart: I loved that milk box there, Oscar...like a touch of reality. smile Thanks.
Engine crew the same the world over, a greasy cap, smoke ridden clothing and, usually, some facial hair. And they do make for a great photograph, Nicely captured Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: You would know these things, Les. Glad he fits the mold. smile Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: It was a memory to last a lifetime, Rian. Thanks!
has eight weeks r-e-a-l-l-y passed since you returned to class? Well Ginnie you deserve a holiday and you couldn't pick a nicer place to go. I hope you and Astrid have a great time.

Great pic to leave us with.
Ginnie Hart: What I meant to say, George, is that I have vacation now for 8 weeks, even though I will be able to go to school if I want for 3-4 of them. But the school will be mostly a ghost town. Astrid hasn't had a week off for over a year now, so she is really looking forward to this time away, as am I. Thanks!

Ginnie Hart: You're a real sweetheart, Peter, to stop by and comment. We'll be off in about an hour, after I pack everything up. We are so ready for this trip. I have a feeling you and I are around the same age, since I, too, am retired (just turned 65).

Village people! I agree.

Happy Fourth and go Holland, I bet Astrid is a fan too?
Ginnie Hart: Now that the final is over, Maria, things will hopefully get back to some semblance of order! Actually, I am more of a soccer fan than Astrid, believe it or not. The main thing is that we gave Spain a run for the money. I was proud of how we stood our ground against them. Astrid says the Spain guy was off-side before he went to kick the ball for their one goal, but...that doesn't help us at all now. Sigh. Anyway, we're back from France and things are starting to settle down. You already know what that's like! Thanks.

Have a wonderful trip Ginnie! I she your pilot? Wait, maybe it's a train? LOL!
Ginnie Hart: HAHA! Astrid and I were both pilots and co-pilots on our trip and had a blast...most of the time. The times we almost killed each other came and went quickly. grin Thanks. The good news is that we both read maps very well.

love the candid expression on this portrait ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
I love these tones. How do you get these colors? A+ VAL smile
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, Valérie. It's a PhotoShop thing I stumbled upon using the Multiply layer and then the B&W filter with sepia added. It leaves a bit of the color still there. Merci.

Excellent
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Saeed. Thank you.
Great shot Ginnie, he fits the profile of his job perfectly. Enjoy your trip to France. That's quite amazing to just hop in a car and drive to France.
Ginnie Hart: It was amazing to me, John, to see exactly how close France is to us! It's only 424 km (263 mi) to Paris...5.5 hours by car. No wonder people here go for a long weekend. We're back now with incredible memories...and loads of photos I'm eager to start tackling! smile Thanks, as always, for your comment.
Great portrait; I like the selective desat. Is that a half-gallon of milk?
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Mark. It looks like milk, doesn't it, but I have no clue.
From the look on his face, it looks like a very though job. Well caught photo.
Ginnie Hart: Either it's very tough or very boring, Brian?! Maybe he was just trying to look the part from a bygone era. smile Thanks.
A nice way to introduce your holiday. Hope you have a great time, and that you get back safely.
Ginnie Hart: We're now back safe-n-sound, Wim, trying to settle back in again. Thank you kindly. It was an incredible trip to France. I had no clue everything was really so close to us, relatively speaking. Paris is only 424 km away...5.5 hours by car!
oooh, a vacation sounds lovely. hope you have a wonderful trip!
Ginnie Hart: It was wonderful in every way, Charles. Thank you kindly.
hi Ginnie, we miss you come back sad
Ginnie Hart: You're a real sweetheart, Toni. Thank you. We're back safe-n-sound after a great week away. Now...all those photos to tackle, right?! smile
