Ol' Man River

Ol' man river,
Dat ol' man river
He mus' know sumpin'
But don't say nuthin',
He jes' keeps rollin'
He keeps on rollin' along.

A super shot and love the processing giving a real aged and days gone by feel to this
Ginnie Hart: That's how it felt, too, JJ, while looking at all the steamboats that day. Thank you.

I love the textures. Steam boat?
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, SAVO. Yes, a steamboat. There were 23 of them there that day, all different kinds and sizes.

Shucks, Ginnie...we knew that... its not a paddle-steamer, either.

It one heck of a good picture, all the same...
Ginnie Hart: No, it's not a paddle steamer, Ray. There were 23 steamboats that day of different sizes and shapes and all in use up and down the river. So fun.

Ginnie Hart: We all were having a great time, Kanyi! There were 23 steamboats that day, taking us on rides. So fun.

The captain of the ship will be very proud if he only could see this fabulous picture.
You know I love boats/ships..almost everything that floats..even ducks.
Amazing treatment, I can see you did have fun again and we had a great day there.
Het is vrijdag vandaag, om 5 uur vanmiddag als ik thuis kom is het weekend....yeahhhh.
Ginnie Hart: You know how much I love fiddling around with these images. Thank you, MLMA, for your wonderful support. You are altijd so encouraging! And JA! Vrijdag vandaag!

Texture works extremely well Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Tony.
I agree with zed here - a boring comment from me, but I enjoy looking at the pictur wink
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Aksel. Thanks.
What a lovely old tugboat! The image looks like an old postcard; I really like it. What a fun event to visit.
Ginnie Hart: It's a steamboat, Mark. Do you think it's also a tugboat? I have no clue what the difference would be unless it's size. Thanks.

Not the Noordzee also - just the land of Maas. Great conversion.

Slowly, very slowly I am building a head of steam for the low lands.
Ginnie Hart: These low lands have totally stolen my heart, Louis. When are you coming??? smile

I like this well presented
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Vintage. It's Boat Friday. smile
Very nice shot Ginnie. I have a soft spot for tug boats, as some of my ancestors were tug boat captains and pilots (on the River Thames)
Ginnie Hart: You're the second one who has called it a tug boat, so now I know what it is. How fun to conjure up good memories with it, Sheila. Thanks.

the textures really suit this subject
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for saying so, Paul. It was fun to work on.
One of my favourite songs Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I had so many singers to pick from but decided to choose Aretha Franklin, in case you noticed the link. That song has quite the history, I'm sure. Thanks, Chad.

een fijne, wat ouderwets eruit ziende foto! Je/jullie kondne ook zingen "Liefdes-kapitein":

Refrijn
Ga je mee we varen op de zee zee zee in een mooi- fijn bootje met zijn twee twee twee. En mijn hart zal nooit meer stuur loos zijn bij mijn liefdes-kapitein.

Schip ahoy..
of kijk naar een kinderliedje:

Ginnie Hart: Oh, how fun, Philine. Your song has a much happier feel to it than mine, so thanks. smile

this looks like an old picture, that is on a wall somewhere in ganny's house!

Nice pp Ginnie grin
Ginnie Hart: Since I lived in Atlanta the last 20+ years, Nadiuska, I could see it on many a wall there, down south! Thanks. TGIF.
Ghehe, see the difference?? In your case the texture works very well, and in my case, yesterday to be more specific, the texture was an topic of heavily debate.

Anyway, you really get the hang of textures and how to use them!! Goed gedaan meissie!! Ik vind het een prachtfoto!!
Ginnie Hart: Your words, Marion, are very encouraging (coming from you), so Hartstikke Bedankt!!!
Your tones have become more colourful here. Good weekeend Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Gotta show the red, white and blue of the Dutch flag, Albert. smile Thanks.
This is superb Ginnie, the texture works brilliantly, I like how the smoke/steam blends into the texture.smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear, Linda. Thanks for noticing. smile
Beautiful image Ginnie, this would make a great print. I love the textured effect and this scene is perfect for it. Excellent job on composing and creating this image.
Ginnie Hart: This means a lot coming from you, John. Thanks.

I like this traitement, the images of the boat with this, is fantastic!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Oscar!
I think I'd prefer it un-aged, personally - nice shot though.
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Tom...to twiddle or not to twiddle, that is the question. smile It was fun, though, I must say. Thanks.
nicely agaed ginnie and a fine shot
Ginnie Hart: Glad you like it, Derek. Thanks.
The spirit of Mark Twain is not far. Typically clever. Your work here fits definitely well. Very brilliant Ginnie.
Have a nice week-end.
Ginnie Hart: The first quote I chose was a Mark Twain quote, Flo. I changed it at the last minute. smile Merci.
Why is cute the first word that came to mind? A lovely image that manages to transcend the strange processing...

Don't take any notice Ginnie - it's just me being a grumpy old man!
Ginnie Hart: HA! I love the reaction, George. Sometimes it's better to leave well enough alone...but then, where's the fun in that! grin Thanks for commenting, even if as a grumpy old man. smile
A grand little boat Ginnie and the texture suits it very well.
Ginnie Hart: It was so funb to see and play around with, Les. Thanks.

That is really lovely, it looks just like a vintage postcard.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Cherie. That was what I was going for. smile
It must take a lot of patience and talent to create an image like this, Ginnie. Just wonderful!
Ginnie Hart: It actually doesn't take as much time as you'd think, Beverly. The person who made the texture (ghostbones = Jerry Jones) deserves most of the credit! smile But thanks anyway.
