Don't know the song, but I love the picture. Woof!
Ginnie Hart: I tried like the dickens to find a YouTube of this song. Larry, but to no avail. It was on one of the old Peter, Paul and Mary albums from the late 60s which my ex-husband and I played all the time. A fun song. My kids grew up on it in the 70s. Thanks.
Certainly different tot he Flying Lady or the Jaguar cat, nicely presented Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Cats and Dogs. It's either one or the other, right, Les?! smile Thanks.

Fantastic shot of the hood ornament, wonderful detail and love the reflection
Ginnie Hart: Those were the days of hood ornaments, JJ. I love them. Thanks.
so unusual, never seen one of these, great shot
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Derek. Those Mack trucks are huge clunkers, especially when you see them barreling down behind you on the highway!

Lovely icon, Ginnie.

Got its 15 minutes of fame from the cartoon Lightning McQueen a couple of years back, too...including its enduring rivalry with Peterbilt.
Ginnie Hart: You know more about it than I do, Ray. All I know is these trucks are mammouth when you see them barreling down behind you on the highway! Thanks.

I remember that group, but not the song. However, days when I feel bad (physically) I say, "I feel like I've been run over by a Mack truck". That's what I thought of when I saw your image. Really nice macro.
Ginnie Hart: No amount of Googling turned up a YouTube of the song, Sherri, but it was on one of the albums my ex-husband and I played all the time back in the late 60s and early 70s. My kids grew up on it! Thanks. Those trucks are huge. That expression totally makes sense once you've seen how big they arte!

that's an iconic bulldog there, Ginnie. You've captured it well!
Ginnie Hart: You just reminded me that my son graduated from the University of Georgia whose mascot is the bulldog. It makes a fine icon for this huge truck. Thanks, Alex.

That reflection is a beauty..it is fun to see that 'Mack' made a newer icon.
It are impressive trucks.
Beautiful collage.
...wink I will take you for a ride in Granny Towanda....grin

Ginnie Hart: Ohhhh, I love the link. Just think how fun it would be to dress up that wee dog for any occasion. grin And yes, Granny Towanda is just perfect for us. We will never need a Mack truck. Punt uit.
Another great détail, beautiful reflexion, it's really difficult to take the chrome. A+ VAL smile
Ginnie Hart: Chrome is something of the past, I think, Valérie. I wonder when they decided to stop making it...and why! Merci.

what an awesome hood ornament! the mighty boxer, or is it a bulldog? another photoblog friend of mine puts a lyric with each of his photos, it's cool smile
Ginnie Hart: Boxer or bulldog, take your pick, Elaine. I wouldn't know the difference. smile But my son graduated from the University of Georgia and that IS a bulldog!!! Thanks.

You are certainly in your element when you do these shots. Very very neat. Reflections are super
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, SAVO. I have so much fun doing them. smile
I want to see the rest of the mac...to me that is a "proof" that you have a good picture/collage. I like the background on the hood ornament - a nice framing of the "statue" smile
Ginnie Hart: There were so many trucks parked near each other, Aksel, it was hard to get a good picture of any one of them...but here's a link that gives you an idea.

The Mack B-61 Thermodyne Diesel runs on steam? You did capture it at the steam festival smile
Ginnie Hart: You took the words out of my mouth, Louis, because I asked Astrid the same thing. I think vintage was what they were going for here. grin

What a fantastic mascot Ginnie and nicely photographed.

This is a super image Ginnie and you see music in everything because your happysmile
Ginnie Hart: I like how you said that, Linda. I am indeed very happy. I tend to be a very positive/optimistic person anyway. smile Thanks.
Ginnie, I believe the song "Take Me For A Ride In Your Car-Car" was written by Woody Guthrie who was inspired by one of the word poems his daughter, Cathy Ann had made up. Wish I still had that old Woody Guthrie album.

You are able to get such clear & brilliant images, Ginnie. This one is superb example.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for all the added info, Beverly. I've only heard the song sung by Peter, Paul and Mary, so with your info, I found this YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOxF5umXsx0
Now I can see how P, P and M took off with it from there. How fun. THANK YOU.

Looks like a nice ride!
Ginnie Hart: If it's behind you on the highway, you're sure it will gobble you up, Kanyi. Better to be in the front seat! smile
Well preserved and well polished. Nice.
Ginnie Hart: Just like you, Sheila. smile
I do like this Ginnie, great reflection and everything. My daughter would just love one of those little figurines, she has two real bulldogs of her own.
Ginnie Hart: I can bet it'd feel just right in your hand, Brian. smile Thanks.

A great presentation Ginnie, really superb work. Very professional indeed. Wow. Ready for a ride ? smile
Ginnie Hart: With each passing day, we get more and more ready, Flo. grin Actually, today we're getting out our maps and will try to nail down our itinerary/schedule. You'll know shortly! Merci.
These Macvk trucks are famous and beautiful; alas we don't see them often on the Dutch roads.
Ginnie Hart: They would be a bit too massive for the Dutch roads, Wim, I think. At least the back roads! smile Thanks.
Mack trucks used to be everywhere. Now there are very few around here.
Ginnie Hart: I wondered what happened to them, Michael? Gas guzzlers? Hmmmm.
A great little mascot - and beautifully photographed.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, George.
