Ginnie Hart: That's exactly what I feel right about now, Charles: very vintage. grin Thanks.

Biking to work sounds lovely, like back to the quieter times.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Maria. We NEVER use the car unless we have to. It makes so much more sense...in today's world!

Such a beautiful shot nd processing, wonderful composition and tones, good luck with the school smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JJ. Next week will be here before I know it!
Wonderful; I haven't seen a bike like this in a long time. I like the old-timey processing.
Ginnie Hart: You see lots of old-timey bikes here in Holland, Mark. I'm hoping it means no one will be tempted to steal it! As long as it gets me from hgere to there, I don't care. In fact, I find it more charming! Thanks.

I love this shot, Boots. You're exploring with new treatments, I see, and I likey very much. smile
Ginnie Hart: Yes, sister...I LOVE working with texture overlays and try to use them whenever possible. Thanks for noticing. smile
In addition to a fine image, a wonderful old song is now in my head... smile
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Larry. It's in mine, too. smile Thanks.

Good luck in school Ginnie! I, too, am starting school, only in August. We're moving to Portland so I can start pharmacy school!
Ginnie Hart: Oh, WOW, Alex. Congratulations. Portland is one of the cities to visit on my list...one day, I hope. And pharmacy school! We will always need our pharmacists, so YOU GO.

A fine looking workhorse, and one that clearly appreciates some quiet time in the park...with a friend...
Ginnie Hart: My 'friend' was definitely there with me, Ray, and enjoyed the sight. Little did I know then that the bike I'd inherit from her would look almost exactly like this one. smile
love the processing and how aged a feeling it gives the photograph
Ginnie Hart: Aged like me, Heather. grin Thanks.

I will stand by you....you know that and I cheer for you, I am impressed with the way you handle things...
LOL at Ray, I know my bike likes to be in the park too.... wink
A wonderful picture and I love the texture.
Happy Rides and go for it.
tongue I had to look twice if this was indeed my old bike (no)....you ride a Gazelle bike...(like a Gazelle)
Ginnie Hart: You were the one I was thinking of, MLMA, of course, and then I realized it was true of everyone else as well! It will be quite a journey but I'm up for it, with your encouragement and confidence all along the way. Bedankt! Thanks for the bike, btw. It will be my faithful companion, I know, for a long time. smile
nice composition, I also like your photo processing. A+ VAL
Ginnie Hart: Merci, dear Valérie. I love playing around like this. smile
En ordentlig cykel!

Have fun
Ginnie Hart: Fun is now the name of the game, Bill. We're never too old for it, right?! smile

Ik ga met mijn fiets naar Afrika...

You can ask Astrid about the alternative anthem:
Wilhelmus van Nassauwe, hij had een nieuwe fiets, zijn vader moest hem douwen anders ging hij helemaal niet
etc, etc
Ginnie Hart: HA! Even now I can read and understand almost all of this, Louis, without Astrid or Babel-fish. That means there really is hope for me. smile Hartstikke bedankt.
lovely composition Ginnie in a interesting shade, i like it
Ginnie Hart: Gracie, dear Fabrizio. smile

i had one like this - i admired it whilst it was parked outside a post office and the lady owner offered it to me for a five pound note ! it had a lovely large basket on the front
Ginnie Hart: Mine has a saddle bag for the back, JIM, that I take off whenever I park the bike. Astrid doesn't want me to have a basket on the front because she says it can inhibit my 'driving.' Since she's done it for a lot longer than I, I will trust her sentiment on the subject. smile It has three gears. Just perfect for me.

Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Spark.
Superb photograph, beautiful photographic quality, well with you, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, dear Roland.
Great Ginnie: een echt Hollandse fiets met witte achterspatborden (nou, dat is een woord voor je). Mooie ouderwetse foto ook.
Ginnie Hart: One of these days I will be able to respond to you in Dutch, Wim. That will be the day. In the meantime, I love that I can read and understand most of this without the help of Astrid or Babel-fish. THANK YOU. Hartstikke bedankt.

Great frame good tone why is the post leaning like that
Ginnie Hart: I almost mentioned in my text, Vintage, that the post really was leaning like that...but I have no clue why! It looks like it was hit by a semi-truck but no way was that possible on that hill. Who knows! Thanks.
LOvely presentation GInnie, we used to call these sort of bikes "bone-shakers" for obvious reasons.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I'll tell you if I start falling apart, Brian. smile Thanks.
I used to have one in this sort of style a long time ago Ginnie. The processing indicates how long ago it was. Happy cycling.
Ginnie Hart: The thing about a good bike, Janet, is that it will stand the test of time. I hope I can say the same for me in the next few weeks. grin
sepia works marvelously
Ginnie Hart: I guess it does add to the age of it, Rob. Thanks.
Great tones and texture Ginnie. Its going to keep you fit as well as getting you where you want to go. Good lucksmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Linda. Both points are important for me these days. smile

Love how you find a way to make things happen and work for you. Looks like a wonderful bicycle to begin your new language journey!!!

Great treatment Ginnie!! And the image has such a Dutch feel. It is about as Dutch as you can get it, a bicycle standing against a lamp post. The only thing I miss is the huge chain lock wrapped around both bike and lamp post....
Ginnie Hart: HA! Even in Gorinchem we don't see many of those big locks, Marion...just the back fender locks that are built as part of the bike. Howvever, just in case, Astrid has given me a chain lock, too. smile Thanks.

yep, your in holland, you have to have a bike (at least one LOL)
Ginnie Hart: Thank God Astrid had 2 because it meant I didn't have to buy one, Petra. smile I did buy a new seat/saddle, however.
A wonderful image Ginnie...it is so simply presented and so strongly nostalgic with your superb photography and processing! Great work!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Its an old style cycle..which goes well with the old looking picture Ginnie..Nice one.
Ginnie Hart: Old style, just fit for me, Ron. smile Thanks.

A very traditional looking boneshaker, you will blend in perfectly ;n one of these, unless things have changed substantially since I was last there (about 15 years ago).
Ginnie Hart: My guess is nothing has changed at all, Mike. Good for me. :

With a bike like that you can't possibly fail your course, Ginnie smile You'll have to start doing your captions in Dutch so that we can keep pace with you smile
Ginnie Hart: It's definitely a stand-by-me sort of bike, Tom. And yes, if I have to learn Dutch, I'll take you all along with me! smile

Gorgeous photo - very vintage, yet modern too. And as always, fantastic processing! Enjoy your rides to and from class!
Ginnie Hart: Those rides have the potential of being the happiest parts of my day, Martie. smile
You are indeed fortunate, Ginnie, to live in a country where this form of transportation is so prevalent; a perfect antidote to today's hectic pace. This lovely shot is so reminiscent of a bye-gone era. Another great image!
Ginnie Hart: I so agree with you, Beverly. I feel very fortunate...and lucky! Thanks.
No doubt. It will stand by you, as this street lamp does. A super friend. No mecanic problem, no nothing. A dreamy partner for promenade Ginnie !
Lovely PP to fit with this timeless compo.
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes it's the simple things in life that mean the most, Flo. Thanks. Merci.
