Love the blue ceiling, Ginnie! (little details smile)
Ginnie Hart: That blue ceiling has stars in it, Cherise, so it has an incredible feeling when you look up. Thanks.

I have now attched this verse to you because you used it when commenting on one of my photos in the past. http://savo.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Free....%21_/
Apt image for the text.
Have a great easter as well. smile
Ginnie Hart: My past training really stays within me, SAVO, doesn't it. It comes out when I least expect it. smile Thanks for remembering (my, what a memory you have!). Thank you.

Sometimes I think my mind works in strange ways..between the paintings is what looks like an early design for razor wire...

Your work is impeccable, Ginnie...crisp, and beautifully composed.
Ginnie Hart: And I'm thinking of cogs/gears, Ray. Like minds, I guess? smile Thank you kindly.
Happy Resurrection Day, Ginnie...
Ginnie Hart: The same to you, too, Larry!

Agree with Cherise, I love the blue ceiling! And the fresco/mosaic/painting is very nice as well!
Ginnie Hart: It was a very bright and airy room outside the nave of the church, Alex. I still remember what it felt like! Thanks.

That part of the church was a delight, the blue ceiling was the 'sky with stars'.
I cracked my neck in admiring that wonderful scene.
Love the tones in this one, the little blue does add to the picture.
Een prachtige foto voor Goede Vrijdag.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, mijn vrouw. I still remember what this room felt like, don't you? It was so bright and airy and felt like a wonderland under that very blue sky.

Ja, een prachtige foto voor Goede Frijdag- Good Friday, a rather silent day today, no bells ... it is cold, but sunny -an impressive wall painting of the crucifixion -with so many details we may notice -I like your angle- a look up to the blue ceiling with the stars!
Ginnie Hart: Today there are plenty of bells in our house as I play the Delft carillon in the background, Philine. Good Friday really IS a good Friday, as you already know. I was so glad it was light in this room. Here's another picture of the choir dome that I found on the Internet: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kokjebalder/238769587/.

Ginnie Hart: Yes, it does, Tede. Merci.
I don't but thank you anyway Ginnie. I hope you and Astrid have a great weekend
Ginnie Hart: We both are so ready for a long weekend, Bill...followed by a short work week for Astrid and then our trip to y'all. We can hardly wait. Thanks.
that is such rich culture
Ginnie Hart: You are so right, Chantal.
i sure hope He draws all people to Himself!!! i love this Ginnie, but you knew that I would smile
Ginnie Hart: Yes and Yes, dear Elaine. Have a great weekend!
Have a good Easter Ginnie and Astrid, see you next week.
Ginnie Hart: We are so excited, Mick! After this long weekend, Astrid has only Tuesday and Wednesday morning back at work before she's off for another long stretch. Do you think we'll recognize you right away??? grin I don't think I've ever seen a self-portrait of you! [hint-hint]

These paintings have a different feel to most that you see in churches. Very beautiful - I wonder who the artist is?
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: Good question about the artist, Ingrid, but here's another image I found on the Internet of the choir: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kokjebalder/238769587/.
Superb capture and beautifully composed. Have a lovely day Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, kind sir.

Beautiful , good composition, good day with you.Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Roland. A good day to you, too.
Wonderful verse and image Ginnie and the link to Flickr shows what a lovely building you two found on your travels. Isn't that a great verse from SAVO, to some extent that is how it is where we live because we have a very strong "Churches Together" arrangement in the town.
Ginnie Hart: I knew if anyone would like this, Brian, it would be you. smile Thank you kindly.

the colors looked so faded/old until i saw the vibrant blue roof! nice contrast
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Ryan. smile
Happy Easter Ginnie, this is lovely, a very good capture in tricky low light!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, John. You know how these old churches can be. In this instance, it was lighter than normal (from what we're used to, that is) in this particular part. I was delighted.

Really beautiful. Happy Easter smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Cherie, and the same to you.
Nice one Ginnie..Shame that a lot of youngsters think that Easter is all about the chocolate eggs.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ron, and I know. (sigh)
Thank you Ginnie and the same to you.

A fine picture for Good Friday
Ginnie Hart: It seemed appropriate, Janet! Thank you.

everything looks so elaborate here.. great shot, and a happy easter to you too.. smile
Ginnie Hart: I am always astonished by all the work that went into these churches, Rian. Nothing like I grew up with! Thanks.
A bit of a gloomy look to this one, Ginnie - a little lightening would improve, I think.
Ginnie Hart: Funny you should say that, Tom, because that's what I say to myself when I walk into almost all the European churches. This part of Martini was actually one of the brightest parts I've been in to date of any church over here. And you can see, the higher up you look, the lighter it gets. On the other hand, if this seems gloomy, I guess it fits the depiction of the day?
a fitting shot for easter
Ginnie Hart: At least for Good Friday, Derek. Thanks.

And have a blessed Easter weekend to you and Astrid, Ginnie. What a fitting image for Good Friday!

I wished I had more time to discover these beautiful churches.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Esther. We look forward to a long holiday weekend!
The light is incredible- Beautiful Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
This is really gorgeous! The purple at the top really adds to it also.

What a perfect image for this easter holiday!!! Have a happy one..
Ginnie Hart: It did seem appropriate, Marcie. Thank you.
Hi Ginnie, and thanks again for lovely words. Your title really echoes well the image. Fitting perfectly the spirit of Easter. Have a great w-e, full of peace and love.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, dear Flo. This is such a good time of the year with death passing and life coming.
um... if i could levitate, or "lift" myself from earth, i'm sure a lot of people will feel drawn to myself too.
i'd be kidnapped by the government and they would perform secret experiments on me (for national security purposes).
finally, they'd discover the invisible wire at the back of my head, conclude i'm an faux-alien, and give me my shot at being a judge on the american idol tv show.
my dreams would come true.

but seriously, happy easter. and from what i know a about you, you are indeed blessed.
Ginnie Hart: Makes you wonder if the Jesus-story could have happened in today's world! Anyway, I AM blessed, indeed. Have a great weekend.
Have a good Easter break Ginnie, I am sure you have got something special planned ;o)
Ginnie Hart: This weekend, actually, we are lying low because of the trip coming up, Mike. We have taken car trips the last 3 Saturdays and have had a hoot. This weekend we will just enjoy things closer to home. That, too, will be special, especially since Astrid gets an extra day off. We sure do hope to see YOU a week from today!!! Till then, enjoy yourself.
You just have to keep looking up, many people would just ignore this, well seen.
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes you can't help but look up, Les, and be surprised. I love it when that happens. smile Thanks.

Mmm, forgot to add that the Peter statue and your picture of it were both striking.

Anyhow - with this picture of yours - a blessed Easter time for the two of you. You will be able to attend excellent musical expressions of Easter there in Holland - hope you do and enjoy it.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Louis, and good to see you back. We had a nice little Van Passie to Pasen concert in the Grote Kerk this past Tuesday evening and loved it. The woman who read the familiar scriptures in Dutch was worth the entire service. I'll never forget her voice. We're so glad Astrid has an extra day off...and then we leave for England on Thursday! smile
Astrid's windows are on the left!
A fine composition.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Wim. It's a marvelous church inside! Thanks.
Beautiful beyond words Ginnie! Soft light and tones, delicate details...lovely! Wish you a great Easter weekend toosmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Pavan. It's our 2nd Easter day here in Holland right now, so it's still Easter. smile

Perfect for this Easter day. Hope you had a great Easter!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Toni. We had a lovely day yesterday with a nice brunch here at our senior complex (around 30 in attendance). Today, Monday, is our 2nd Easter Day and we have already been out-n-about to the farmer's animal market (rabbits, chickens, goats, horses for sale) and the Easter Market...the biggest one of the year here in our city. Later we plan to take a little car trip to the other side of the river to visit a castle. It's a nice long weekend. Just what the doctor ordered. smile
Impressive architecture!
Ginnie Hart: It really is, Andrei. Thanks.
