great candid portrait, but she doesn't look that happy. i wonder wy...
Ginnie Hart: I think she's trying to figure everything out, Liang. Still in training, you know. grin Thanks.
Ah Ginnie, your eye for children never fails you!
Ginnie Hart: They're helping me find my lost childhood, Larry! smile Thanks.

Is this a child Ginnie?

She/he looks sad. Why?
Ginnie Hart: Yes, definitely a young child, Maria. I think she's more inquisitive than anything. Don't know if this was her first Carnival or if she was seeing something that puzzled her?

Zoro looks really cool.

Zorro does not look that thrilled to party, it was very cold that day and maybe she wanted to JOIN IN and JUMP around in stead of be with the parents watching......
Great picture again, wonderful colours.
Ginnie Hart: She must have seen something interesting, Astrid...something Zorro hadn't told her about. Hmmm. Wonder what it was? smile Bedankt, mijn Liefste.
Hmm an interesting combo this kid has here...if scary was what she was after, she got it down!!
Ginnie Hart: It was so fun to see what these wee kids came up with in their costumes, Yinks. I wonder what she was looking at?

there's something charming and at the same time a teeeeeensy bit creepy about this photo, it's ART i think aye? lol i don't think it's anybody's place to judge your lot in life until they have been YOU for a year or so... i listen to preachers talk about homosexuality, and i'm like who cares???? talk about the zillions of other things in the Bible that people do that it says are wrong to do... i can see why you feel a little persecuted at times ginnie, and so do i, just for being the kind of different people can't put their fingers on... i just think it's coz i'm out of my anti depressants lol i just take a tiny dose but i think it's enuff lol thank you for your ever so kind comment my dear...
Ginnie Hart: It's funny, Elaine, but I just now noticed something I didn't see before: her mask is taped down with Scotch tape under her right eye! grin

Well, the important point to say about everything else is that you are responsible for only yourself and no one else. "A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval." (Mark Twain) Another good quote: "You and only YOU get to choose how much influence you allow others to exert over your life And I could go on. I have an online file folder where I read these to myself from time to time. HA!
She looks a little bored or uncomfortable Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: ...or very intrigued by something she sees?
She looks a little apprehensive Ginnie. Another fine portrait
Ginnie Hart: Not sure what she saw, Bill, but I have a feeling she was having as much fun as everyone else! smile Thanks.

You have produced something really odd here Ginnie: this child's expression is in complete contrast to her clothing
Ginnie Hart: I think her makeup, Chris, especially on her lips, makes her look a bit deathly. And her eyes do look puzzled, for sure. But she really was having fun, I'm sure. smile

Een bedroefd zot met een zotskap op het hoofd? But all fools are told to be looking sad! (Astrid has to tranlate: zotsers-trappers?) I like your finely porcessed pic of this meisje on a very cold day! I have to think a bit about your motto - I thought: When the pupil is ready the master will disappear -teachers have to learn to let off their pupils, too!
Ginnie Hart: There was a whole group of these Zotser Trappers, Philine, and you're right...I need to ask Astrid about them. And now I'm laughing at your reaction to the quote. Yes, indeed. There's a time for the master to come and then to leave, for sure! The quote was taken from the movie, "The Mask of Zorro."
she doesn't look amused
Ginnie Hart: More intrigued than anything, I think, Chantal?
I agree with Chantal on this one Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: My guess is she's just intrigued by something, Mick, though I could be wrong.
Not a very happy kid!
You must have been surprised the the custom of celebrating carnaval!
Ginnie Hart: Maybe her mask crimped her style, Wim? smile And yes, I wasn't expecting Carnival here at all. When I first started seeing store flyers with Halloween costumes, I was so confused and had to ask Astrid. Sigh. I'm getting my education, beetje bij beetje. smile

She doesn't look entirely comfortable in her role! Good colours - they match so well.
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: Don't we love accessorized colours, Ingrid! grin I think her mask crimped her style, however. Just today I noticed that she has it taped to her face under her right eye!

... and the hat of court jester. Very nice.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Navin. smile Thanks.
Zorro, that brings back memories Ginnie, I had a mask like that when I was young, and a black cape, just to run round the streets with. Great portrait.
Ginnie Hart: We had so much fun as kids, Les, right? grin Gotta love the memories. Thanks.
Great costume and and excellent shot of this little girl even if she does look a bit unsure about things.
Ginnie Hart: I think she was having a bad mask day, Brian. grin Thanks.
She is watchinng something that has caught her attention and even a hint of a little smile about to appear or a tear, lovely shot Ginnie smile
Ginnie Hart: Definitely intrigued by something, Linda...and maybe a bit uncomfortable in her mask? Thanks. smile

This series is exceptional, Ginnie...even by your high standard.
Ginnie Hart: Glad you like it, Ray. It sure was fun. smile
I think Zorro got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning, Ginnie.... ha ha
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! You may be right, Paul. I think her mask didn't fit her quite right, to be honest. Too tight for her face.
beautiful, Ginnie! she has such an expression...i wonder what she is thinking, perhaps wondering why she bothered to get dressed? grin
Ginnie Hart: Wondering why her mask is too tight, I think! Thanks, Charles.

what a fantastic street shot!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Diane. These kids were so fun to observe.
He looks pretty fed up with the whole business, Ginnie smile Nice informal portrait.
Ginnie Hart: I think her mask was giving her problems, Tom. First lesson of Zorro-land: learn to wear your mask! grin

Fantastic photo Ginnie! But doesn't she look just exhausted? I think "too much fun" applies in this little ones case.
Ginnie Hart: And she was having a bad mask day, Martie, based on the scotch tape holding it down. Poor thing!
Cute..she seems well into situation Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: ...though a bit worse for the wear, I think, Ron. sad
Maybe she ate too many carnival sweets and has a tummy ache. ;0

and yes what is a "Zotser Trapper"
Ginnie Hart: HA! Could be, John. I have found out from Astrid that the Zotsen Trappers are Fools Stomping...the court jesters who make fun of everything they see. I learn these things as I go. grin

Ginnie Hart: And if not batman, Joker! smile Thanks, Rian.
Not in a carnival mood this one.
Ginnie Hart: I noticed late that her mask is scotch-taped down under her right eye, Jide. That would agitate me the entire day! Thanks for stopping by!
Very nice candid portrait Ginnie!
