What can i say but sweet, hope you bought the pair.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I 'spect they weren't for sale, Mick, at around 3 ft. tall. We didn't go inside the cafe/souvenir shop but I think you could buy a smaller version. And to think I never saw this in Amsterdam all those times I was there!
Now Ginnie, are you sure you and Astrid didn't do a bit of re-arranging whilst no one was looking? wink

But seriously, a sweet image that made me smile.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Larry, on the left side of the display there were two Dutch boys paired together...and in the center, a Dutch boy and a girl. It was clearly a gay-friendly store willing to "display" all the variations on the theme. Needless to say, it really caught our eye! Thanks...it made us smile too.

You did a great job taking this picture through the window....it is definitively one of the well know souvenirs from the Netherlands, the Dutch 'boy and girl' in Delft's Blue.....
tonguetongue we were just looking and smiling, to add to this information; to the left were two boys and in the middle a boy and a girl..........
so everybody is happy, we cannot leave somebody out, now cannot we gringringrin....
Have a great day today.
Ginnie Hart: I couldn't have said it better, MLMA! smile It was so perfect that I saw this with you. Ontzettend bedankt.
Many thanks Ginnie. This is so sweet! You captured them very well.
Ginnie Hart: This was fun to see, Richard! smile Merci.

Haha- ja, een erg toepasselijke pic- ik wens jou en jullie een gezegend kerstfeest met muziek, gebak en alles wat er bij hoort (for me the firtree smelling of wood and ornated with beeswax candles the most beautiful 'thing' at Christmas, we fetch it today from the farmer!)- yes, I remember to have been with you in a Delft shop in Amsterdam, but I didn't see ever anything like that depictured- this must be a fine sign for you both!
Ginnie Hart: I can just see you fetching your Christmas tree, Philine, which we did over a week ago and then decorated this past Friday evening. We love it. Over the weekend we had Gluhwein met speculaas cookies, so we were in heaven! Oh yes, and don't forget the Dickens Festfijn in Deventer. Thank God we went on Saturday because I think we would have missed it altogether if we had tried going yesterday! We feel so lucky.
So cute and beautiful!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Paven, for stopping by and commenting. That means a lot.
well, this is not a real Dutch christmas view... I hate those Delfst Blue stuff
Ginnie Hart: It's funny how the tourists love the Delft Blue ceramics, Chantal, but the locals don't. I'm teaching Astrid how to appreciate her own heritage. smile
How cute! Merry Christmas
Ginnie Hart: Awww. Thanks, Brian and Alix. It's good to see you again.

I have always liked the kissing statues but have never seen them like this. A really sweet image.
Ginnie Hart: I have never seen them like this either, Frida, and neither had Astrid, who's lived here all her life. So it was a fun find for both of us! smile Thanks.

A case of "fourlips from Amsterdam" perhaps - hoping I don't have to explain my bad joke! Interesting to see your shots are back in full colour ;o)
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Mike, that's a GOOD joke. smile And yes, many of my shots will be in full color...but don't peg me down. HA! grin
Ah, so wonderfully appropriate, Ginnie, and beautifully captured. This made me smile.
Ginnie Hart: I love the smile, Paul. Thanks. smile
Part of the full spectrum... nice Ginnie. richard
Ginnie Hart: You got that right, Richard. Thanks. smile

Well spotted and I spy one of the xmas decorations I purchased as my souvenir of the Netherlands. The red and white santa hats really make it different.
Ginnie Hart: Those Santa hats totally made this for me, Aussie...the frosting on the cake, so to speak. smile Thanks.
This is so sweet Ginnie, Love it!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Linda. smile

Superb composition and great details.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Antoine.
Very sweet Ginnie. You probably wouldn't have seen these back in the States
Ginnie Hart: No, I don't think so, Janet! smile Thanks.
wow two little holland lovers.. very funny photo Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It made my day to see them, Fabrizio. smile Grazie.
ah love love love

so sweet !
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Jean-Luc...indeed! smile
If all the shops in Dordrecht are like this one, Ginnie, it must be a great place to visit.

Love to collect blue & white ceramics and this pair of cuties would be fun to own, although, I doubt very much if I could afford them.
Ginnie Hart: This size would be exorbitant, Beverly. I bet they're used only for storefront windows like this! Thank you kindly for stopping by and commenting.
Great stuff Ginnie, Maureen has got a Delft Boy & Girl Kissing as they stand next to a tree cross-sectioned in the shape of a heart. It is on a little china collectors cabinet in our lounge. I will send you and Astrid a picture of it sometime, you might enjoy it.
Ginnie Hart: So now you know where the idea comes from, Brian! How fun.

Very Cute. I like it. How is you language learning going?
Ginnie Hart: Beetje bij beetje, Kanyi, I am learning Dutch. grin A little bit here and a little bit there. Thanks.
At first i thought that this was a mirror reflection Ginnie. Very clever.
Ginnie Hart: That would have been a cool idea, too, Chad. Thanks. Happy anniversary again!

I like. lovely shot
Ginnie Hart: Muchas gracias, Oscar!
Merry Christmas to you two Dutch Girls!
This is a sweet shot. What gorgeous colours.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Michael. You're a sweetheart!
It is good to know a long time, well-known potter like this is doing progressive acts to widen narrow views. Bravo!
Ginnie Hart: Well, I don't know if it was the potter or the shop owner, Mary, who was progressive. I'm guessing all the boys and girls are made separately and are then paired up any which way. But I do like the idea! Thanks.
Lovely shot!!!
Many Xmas wishes!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, RS!

Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Rian! Thanks.
so adorable...you too!
Ginnie Hart: Awwww. Thanks, Heather. smile
Such a sweet shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Caroline.
are you getting used to Holland yet?
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Chantal! But I had a head start for the two years when I was in Amsterdam every month for 2 weeks. That helped. This time I won't be leaving every month, which feels good!

Beautiful figurines Ginnie. However, it looks like same sex attraction to me.
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Bob! In some of my other replies I mentioned that there was a set of two boys together on the left of the display and then a boy-and-girl pair in the middle. It was clearly a gay-friendly establishment! smile
