Passages

This is a series from our Country Fair when I took my g'son on October 8.

I love that they have "rides" like this at the Fair, where kids can try new things.
I saw this from the Sky Lift and thought about the Passages we go through in Life.

Some Passages, as we all know, are more difficult than others,
but if we have someone with whom to share them, it makes all the difference in the world!

That looks so fun....I think you've captured the adventure that childhood is in this shot.
Ginnie Hart: This is the kind of thing I would have loved as a child, Sylvia. Maybe that's why I noticed it and became reflective. smile Thanks.

well those kids look like they are having a blast in their passage to adulthood smile great shot ginnie!!!!
Ginnie Hart: Look how they do all the tough part first and then get to slide downhill the rest of the way. I like that! smile

Their treading very carefully, it's a few years before they think they are invincible. Lovely shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I love that they are daredevils for such things, Aussie. It will prepare them for the bigger obstacles coming up! Thanks and it's good to see you again!

For me, this kind of "ride" will trump the rollercoaster everytime.

Country Fair as a metaphore of Life...interesting concept, Ginnie...
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Ray, it's my kind of ride, too...much more hands-on! The metaphor was not lost on me, as you see! Thanks.

You are so right, it all depends with whom you are and Life can take some changes(inversions?)
I always say...Life is as a rollercoaster and we have stay seated until the last stop, if we like it or not, so we better make the best of it and yes I like to be with you in that rollercoaster.
Great picture, did you notice the 'tough' boys up front and the ladies follow gringrin
Ginnie Hart: Some things have to be gone through by ourselves...and those are the backpacks we all have to carry on our own. The bigger things are meant to be shared, and we help carry each other's suitcases. I like that.

I'm guessing you and I would be the "tough boys" up front, right? grin

Kids are having a ball, very nice Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: This attraction was off on the edge of the fairgrounds, Tony, and was probably missed by many, but it was one I really paid attention to! Thanks.
Can I have a go??
Ginnie Hart: Be my guest, Nigel! grin
not afraid of anything those kids
Ginnie Hart: I remember when I was like that, Chantal. grin Haven't lost much of it yet.
I prefer this sort of stuff to fairground rides.
Ginnie Hart: I agree 100%, Chad. It's much more hands-on!

I presume when they get across then they zoom down on the slide and start again! Nice shot of children doing what they do best - playing!
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: You have such a good eye to grasp the whole, Ingrid! All the tough part is first and then it's downhill all the rest of the way. It feels timely for me right now. smile

Lovely shot capturing the kids on there mini adventure. I used to love adventure playgrounds Musketeer.

Your right all your problems and adventures are better shared with someone, as they saying goes a problem shared is a problem halved.
Ginnie Hart: This is the stuff we Musketeers are made of, Tracy. I can just picture the 3 of us having a blast on a stepped-up version of this. smile Thanks.
Your words are so true Ginnie. Lovely shot of children having fun.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Linda. This is more fun than the fair on many levels! smile
You have a couple of passages pictured here. The tube in the foreground has all going downhill which is like some of the passages we take. Good symbolism abounds.
Ginnie Hart: You are so right about the symbolism, Mary! All the tough part has been up front and now there's light at the end of the tunnel...and it does seem to be going downhill. Besides, time is flying. smile
I love thi image the colos are so beautiful with a pretty atmosphere
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Fabrizio.
They look well secured whilst having fun. Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Well-secured and contained, Ron, you're right! smile Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: They do look like they're enjoying themselves, Marcie, don't they! smile
Impresionante la claridad que has conseguido con esta foto.
Excelente encuadre.

Fun for kids gringrin

Nice frame
Ginnie Hart: Kids of all ages, Oscar? Gracias. smile
Nicely caught Ginnie, my Gransdon would love this no doubt.
Ginnie Hart: I love stuff like this for the kids, Brian. smile Thanks.
Fine words, Ginnie. Life is all about balance but sometimes we don't have the benefit of a safety net. Do they get to slide down the tunnel?
Ginnie Hart: You're so right, of course, Alan. Sometimes our friends are our safety net? And yes, after the climb and the precarious walk, you get to slide downhill through the tunnel and start all over again. smile

Wonderful shot ginnie, this is my favourite so far! The little "guys" look like they are having great fun ;o)
Ginnie Hart: And to think I almost didn't post this, Mike. smile It always amazes me which ones are the favorites to others. Thank you so much.
Too true Ginnie.

Lovely image of the kiddies. Boys in front doing the investigating and girls following behind having a good time.
Ginnie Hart: I love it when we can see parallels all throughout the life around us, Janet. smile Thanks.
They are having a great time. Life is about people
Ginnie Hart: You are so right, Bill. Thanks for being one of them! smile

Tentative steps. Nicely captured smile
Ginnie Hart: The brave children sometimes teach the rest of us what to do, Noa. Thank you.
Such a wonderful shot Ginnie, my granddaughter would love this ride. Bet you and your grandson had a great time. Couldn't agree with you more with your statement.
Ginnie Hart: I didn't grow up with memories of the fair, John, so I feel like I'm making up for lost time with Nicholas. I've decided that's what grandchildren are for. smile Thanks.
What a great shot Ginnie. This looks like fun, and I love the lines from the netting and light.
Ginnie Hart: It looked like fun to me, too, BC. Thanks.
tu mets toujours beaucoup de tendresse je trouve dans tes photos. très beau
Ginnie Hart: Your words make my day, O-P. Merci!

Your county fair seems like a very nice variety of entertainment. This is such a sweet capture.
Ginnie Hart: Every year they add a few new things, Sherri, so it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Beyond equal might be saying something but it could be true. smile Thanks.
Very nice shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Navin.
Great capture Ginnie. They seem having a good fun!
Ginnie Hart: I love it when kids can be kids, Richard! Merci.

a sweetly captured shot...we never had such cool stuff when we were kids!
Ginnie Hart: I know, David. Things just get bigger and better (?) all the times for kids. Thanks.
It looks like a prison break underway. Sound the alarm.

Hi Ginnie,

It's a good shot!
Sometimes I'd like to become a kid one more time to play in such places ... wink
Ginnie Hart: If they can take an adult weight, Kiji, I still do them. smile Merci.

I hope we can look forward to you sharing your next "passage" with us! I've come to depend on your photography as inspiration!
Ginnie Hart: There's no way I will stay away for long, Linda. Photography is so much a part of my life and that's how/where I found Astrid...here, through SC. And people like you have a way of making my day, over and over again. Thank you.

hi there, i've been away a while - now enjoying going back through everyone's archives smile. what hit me first about this one...the determination of that second little fellow, something about his stance, he looks so confident up there. great picture, i hope all well with you smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Eliza, for backtracking to this post. I have just moved from Atlanta to the Netherlands and am still getting my bearings in this new country I now call Home. You picked a good image because it's all about Passages for me right now. It's a good place to be. Thank you and welcome back!
