High Dive

This is a series from our Country Fair when I took my g'son on October 8.

As they say, Don't try this at home!

One of the fun things at the Fair is the shows they put on.
This was the "Penguin Show," with the divers dressed up as...penguins...diving from 85 feet up into a wee pool below.
I was watching from the top row of the nearby concert arena.

The blue sky background's the clincher. Even without your warning, i wouldn't dare!
Ginnie Hart: It was just as the sun was setting, Ben, and a moment later was almost too dark. I was lucky. Thanks.

Ha Ha.

Costume and pose makes them just like big...penguins...

Great stuff, again, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: It was a fun show, Ray. smile Thanks.
lol i was wondering what they were wearing! the jump of the penguins!! wooohooo nice shot!
Ginnie Hart: Entertainment! And we were entertained. smile Thanks, Elaine.
Penguin-diving should be an Olympic sport. smile

grin...I don't even have a bathtub.....so I will not try this at home, it is always amaizing what some people do for a living, I admire their gut.
Fabulous picture, see the tension of muscles, just before they take off.
Prachtige blauwe lucht en een heel mooie compositie.
KSK.
Ginnie Hart: You better not ever try this, MLMA! You would scare the heck out of me!! sad But it was fun to watch them. The hype was part of the fun, since we all knew they would eventually climb up to the top...since it was there! smile Ontzettend bedankt!
It looks like it could be a scary stunt.
Ginnie Hart: Definitely, Michael...which only made it more exciting, of course. smile

Judging by the beautiful leg sticking out must be a she. She is diving without looking where to go? Mad as a rabbid - trust can only go so far smile

It makes for a dramatic picture - now don't try this over the weekend - you still have a plane to catch.
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Louis. The one "on top" is a she and the one below is the he. Talk about trust!

I am careful about what I do these days, yes, because I do have a plane to catch! smile
Una composición con unos tonos y colores excelentes.
Muy bonita la foto.
Una profesión muy arriesgada.
Saludos
Ginnie Hart: I certainly wouldn't want this as my profession, Bernardo! But it sure was fun to watch. They were having a lot of fun. Muchas gracias!
oh god. those are real people! for a minute, i thought it was a clever statue. but they are real!
i hope i never have to dress like a penguin. or big bird. i don't want to be a mascot for any team. i don't want to jump ino a little pool of water.
but hey, it's like with firemen or policemen-- thank heavens somebody does it.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Seraphine, they are real people! smile And thank God someone does it for the rest of us to watch, you're right! smile Thanks.

Aaaaaaah! A wonderful pic- wonderfully composed (posted at the right side) and lightened - all our eyes are attracted by these acrobats! The lady looks like a doll, but it is a real lady! Really Amazing!
Ginnie Hart: They sure were having fun, Philine. And we egged them on! smile it really IS amazing what people will do for a living. smile Thanks.

You had a good viewing point Musketeer.smile
This is one hell of a way down!! You would NOT catch me doing that..even standing on the platform would be a NO NO.
Have a great weekendsmile
Ginnie Hart: I thought of you the entire time, Tracy. HA! You have a great weekend, too. I'm one day down on my estate sale...the last day tomorrow (Saturday). Wish me luck. smile Thanks.
I wondered which one I would rather be here but none really.
Ginnie Hart: I definitely concur, Chad!
What a way to earn a livinggrin Good shot Ginnie

I thought they were painted statues to start with. The things you have to do to earn a crust - dress up as a penguin and dive into a little pool from a great height - no thanks!
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: I guess anything can happen at the fair, Ingrid. smile
Some peaople are crazy aren't they? Great capture Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Richard, exactly. All part of the Fair's mentality! Merci.

It must be someting to do with the low sun perhaps, but this couple look more sculpture than real. An icon for our times perhaps. Good photograph Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: A moment later and it was too dark, Mike. So "sculpture" it was. Thanks. smile

Reminds me of an "act" we saw when we visited Legoland.

I could imagine voluntarily throwing myself off a plank of wood so high above the ground, with the intention of landing in water - and then doing the same thing again, day after day!
Ginnie Hart: I can imagine it, Ellie, but not doing it! Bravo to them.
A beautiful poise... and then they fell. Well done!
Ginnie Hart: it was quite awesome, Wim! Bedankt.
That really looks a dangerous stunt Ginnie..A gust of wind could blow them off course. It doesn't bare thinking about. A great shot though.
Ginnie Hart: A gust of wind could have them landed on the ferris wheel or who knows where, Ron! smile Thanks.

fabulous capture, Ginnie ! gorgeous capture, light and processing . Love it . Wish to try that ..well , it is too late now smile)
Ginnie Hart: It's all yours, Mariana. Be my guest! grin Thanks.
Very good shot Ginnie. What a way to earn a living though, over here they would be called "nutters!"
Ginnie Hart: HA! And we sit here egging them on, Brian! Thanks.
Crikey! How on earth did they get up there? It must require great composure to stand like that with another person on your back and on such a small platform, too! Amazing!
Ginnie Hart: They climbed up, of course, Alan, but they were so nimble at it. It was breath-taking! Thanks.
Totally stunning and enjoyable ! Beautifully framed too*
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Karine, for stopping by and commenting!

I think there was plenty to see at the fair. Haven't seen these guys at our local fair ;-) Cool capture, did you capture them in midair too?
Ginnie Hart: Come to think of it, Frida, I'm not sure if I got them in midair. I'll have to look. That would have been fun! This was a new show for us this year.
Great capture! Ar the first glance I thought they were statues. Breave or just nuts smile
Ginnie Hart: Brave AND bits, Pernilla! grin Thanks.
Great title!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, RS. That's exactly what it was! smile
