photoblog image The Universal Way?

The Universal Way?

This is a series from the NASCAR race here in Atlanta over our Labor Day weekend.

The American Way at sports:  sometimes a flag and always some beer.
I'm guessing it's The Universal Way!

(This is for
Mick, who's been waiting for a French Maid!)

I think you are correct Ginnie,us Australian have to have a beer to watch and sporting event
Ginnie Hart: I do think beer itself is a world-wide "event," Vintage. smile

The head shots from this race are great. The make such an intresting collection!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Krista. For me they were definitely more interesting than the actual race! smile
Yee hah!!!
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA!

I think Americans do morethings with flags than most countries, Ginnie.

Another fine shot in this series.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, the reason why I took this shot, Ray, is because it seemed unique. I really don't see a lot of American flags at sporting events. But it's possible there are more of them at NASCAR here in the South than anywhere else. Bible Belt and all, you know! Thanks.

I thought "always some beer" is the german way ;-) I like the detail shots you captured during the race.
Ginnie Hart: HA! You're more wise-spread than you realized, Carsten. grin Thanks.

nice observation, i guess food's always a constant in these spectator sports.. smile nice shot..
Ginnie Hart: Food and beer, Rian, yes! smile Thanks.
Oh, Ginnie! I can just feel the "laid-back-ness" of the day. And by the looks of her hands, she's no varnisher!
Ginnie Hart: HA! I'm sure you're right about her hands, Linda. This lady sat right in front of me, so it was hard to NOT "capture" her. smile She looked like she had no worries in the world!
Oh very cool capture. Love the framing.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Jen.

Very nationalistic... but why not?

Interesting close ups in this series!
Ginnie Hart: Nationalistic and patriotic, Sidney, yes! Thanks.

This is a fine shot, Americans and flags, that is almost one and my personal opinion; nothing wrong with that, what is wrong with being proud and show it.
Beer and sports is the same here too.
The close-up is just wonderful so is the crop.
I think Mick will love this one very much.
KSK.
Ginnie Hart: Well, you know what I think about some of this, MLMA, but that's okay. If there's something to be proud of, we SHOULD be proud of it. I guess all countries have their strengths and weaknesses, not just America! Ontzettend bedankt, zoals altijd. smile

nice candid shot, beer and a flag is very enjoyable here!
Ginnie Hart: Yup. Very universal, Liang. grin Thanks.
tu as l'art de bien choisir les angles!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, O-P. She was sitting right in front of me. smile
Always a beer here too...not so much of the flagtongue
Ginnie Hart: Actually, we don't see much of the flag either, Bill. This was unique. At college/pro sports, you do see the school colors and sports flags, for sure...much more than the American flag. This lady sat in front of me and was hard not to notice. smile

I guess this is universal Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: At least the beer part, Chris! smile
Thanks Ginnie , best French Maid yet.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I knew she was coming for you, Mick. grin
lovely close in shot of a happy woman lol beer and patriotism, mmm mmm lol
Ginnie Hart: LOL, indeed, Elaine. She was kinda hard not to notice, especially since she was sitting in front of me!

Different flag but same patriotism and beverage choice
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Tony. smile
I like your observations from the NASCAR race. Great shot and framing.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Pernilla. People-watching is a great past-time! smile
We are not allowed beer in our football stadium seats because we can't behave.
Ginnie Hart: At first I thought you were joking, Chad, until I read Ellie's comment!
Very nice shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Navin. We're both on the same page today, more or less. smile
Flag and beer! Very nicely observed and captured Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Richard. Merci.

Supremely patriotic you Americans but why not. A beer a day....wink
Nice one for this series smile
Ginnie Hart: Not all of us are this patriotic, SAVO, but many Southerners are. Most of us are more interested in the beer. smile

A nice find- a fine perspective, angle and cropping! You captured wonderfully the toning and structure of the hairs! We can imagine how the maid is enjoying her beer- like here- but hardly any flag!
Ginnie Hart: She sat in front of me, Philine, and sometimes I even wondered if it was unpatriotic to have the flag in her hair? I don't think she intended that but I did wonder. It's probably not something you'd see very often at sports here...except for maybe NASCAR?? Anyway, you'll never see an American flag in MY hair. smile

nice and cute.
Ginnie Hart: ...and different, Oscar. Merci.
Nicely caught again Ginnie, I'm glad, after all, you didn't photograph the cars.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I'm glad, too, Brian, because it would have been hard to be creative from the bleachers! Thanks.
That's what I like about you Americans - your patriotism!
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Alan, I don't often see this, so that's why I "captured" it. Maybe those who attend NASCAR events tend to be more patriotic??
very patriotic
Ginnie Hart: It did look that way, Chantal!

Beer, and any other alcoholic drinks, are being banned at most places here now. Nice too see it's still OK somewhere smile
Ginnie Hart: Chad mentioned something similar, Ellie, and I thought he was joking. Sigh. It's too bad some spoil it for everyone else!

Ginnie Hart: Why not, indeed. Thanks, Mariana.
I nearly missed this one Ginnie. Get in close...I was always told that. Lovely shot.
Ginnie Hart: Glad you didn't miss it, Ron. Thanks!

Ya Beer and food are always at these events! The flag is unique though!
Ginnie Hart: Unique here, too, Andy, which is why it caught my eye. It's the beer that is universal. grin
Nice angle Ginnie, can't comment on the flag or beer as sports events and I don't go together too well.
Ginnie Hart: I can't really comment on the flag (just sports' flags) but I can guarantee the beer is everywhere in sports, where allowed. So, Les, you're not a sports man??

Love it! And yes, the flag and or beer. I think it goes hand in hand with NASCAR!
Ginnie Hart: I learned a lot about NASCAR, Martie, at that one race of my life. smile
America the land of the great. And because of the sugary drinks quite literal ...
Ginnie Hart: UGH. Please don't remind me. Actually, in this case it was beer, but almost as bad?
How patriotic! =) Nice PP on the colors.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Brian.
I like the way you have cropped this Ginnie - and the border color works wonders smile
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Thomas. Thank you kindly.
