Mini-Parthenon 1 of 2

As I have said before, I LOVE anything in miniature.
So here's another week of Mini-Europe in Brussels, Belgium.

This is the PARTHENON in Athens, Greece...in Brussels, Belgium.
(as seen last July, 2008)

Where are all the little Greeks? smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good question, Larry. They didn't even place tourists in the miniature! smile

Clever art-work...beautiful photograph.
Ginnie Hart: I have always loved this kid of artwork, Ray, and would have been good at it, if I had ever been employed by such a place. I love fine, detailed minutiae! smile Thanks.

HA...LOL @ Ken....this was a kind of 'touch and your dead' thing, so I backed out...grin...
Great shot MLS, we both saw this in real life, I did in 1977, amazing structure and again they did a really good job at Mini-Europe, it was worth-while.
....and to answer Larry....it was lunchtime, they were all at the small cafeteria....3 feet to the left.
Ginnie Hart: HA, indeed. Actually, I saw THIS in real life but never the real thing. One day, maybe. That would be a nice dream, don't you think?! And maybe we could even touch there? Ontzettend bedankt, MLMAMV.

Oh, your pic awakes my desire to see the impressive Parthenon in reality again - I like how the sunrays are falling onto the columns..- a fine pic- and we have to look up- did you crawl on the ground?
Ginnie Hart: One day I would like to see the real thing, Philine, for sure. It would be a dream come true. And NO, I did not even have to bend down for this one. A lot of the displays are at eye level, like this one. Bedankt.
Well it's a good mini replica Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Sir Chad! Thanks.
I had to do a quick reality check before I realised that this was miniature version. The wall in the foreground gave it away. Nicely done, though.
Ginnie Hart: That entire place would blow your mind, Alan. Everything there is so realistic! I love it. Thanks.

Beautiful perspective and processing Ginnie, took a second to realise that it was a miniature
Ginnie Hart: I know, Tony...that's what I love about miniatures...so realistic! Thanks.

I won't have guessd it was a miniature if you hadn't mentioned it. Combined with the trees in the background and foreground,it looks real to me.
Ginnie Hart: One day I'd like to see the real thing, Navin. In the meantime, I'm glad for a "perfect" replica. Thanks.
Never knew of this: very clever, and good processing too!
Ginnie Hart: Ontzettend bedankt, Wim. Are you saying you never knew of Mini-Europe in Brussels? For how close it is to you, one day you will need to go when Marcus is old enough to appreciate it. It'll be one way for him to see Europe! smile

A great way to see all the beautiful buildings in the world ;-) This is beautiful. I would love to see it for real.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Frida. I have never seen this one either in real life but hope to one day. It would be a dream come true. smile
I oove all the brick lines
Ginnie Hart: They were fun to include, Chantal. Bedankt.
A beautiful reconstitution. Very nicely captured Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: One day I'd like to see the real thing, Richard. Merci.

Even with the chicks holding the building at the back on their heads.

If you had cut the bottom wall out, you would have been able to sell it to me as the real article smile Great stuff.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I knew YOU would see the chicks, Louis! grin And yes, you can fool some of the people some of the time! Thanks.
This replica is fascinating, the details are amazing. Excellent shot Ginnie, with the lighting and the framing with the trees this definitely looks real. I can see why you really are impressed with these miniatures.
Ginnie Hart: I could have made a career out of making miniature, John, if ever I had had the chance. I love doing fine, detailed work with my hands. So this place was a paradise for me. Thanks.

This way you don't have people milling around the building ruining photo ops. Great job, Ma'am.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Mary. grin Just avoiding the tourists on the paths, that's all. Thanks.
Difficult to tell this is a miniature Ginnie, the low angle really helps the overall perception of the image.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Les!

I didn't realize it was a miniature either, and then I saw the thousand-foot tall trees in the background. Nothing will make you question your perspective like an obvious thousand-foot tall tree!
Ginnie Hart: The trees ARE a dead give-away, Alex, for sure. smile Thanks.
Taken a little closer..and it would have looked real. Marvelous miniature Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: You're right, Ron. Maybe my next shot will seem more real? We'll see. Thanks.

a mini-parthenon? funny!
Ginnie Hart: Yup! I guess you had to be there. smile

Ginnie Hart: HA! It would make a good bird house, maybe? smile

i actually thought it was d real thing and was wondering why they weren't any people around smile. Nice capture. Some miniature soldiers would have been nice.
Ginnie Hart: The funny thing, Bandoras, is that some of the models DO have mini-people in/around them. Don't know why this one doesn't. Thanks.
A fine pocket sized Parthenon Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. It wouldn't fit in MY pocket but I'm sure it would in yours. smile

the columns on this are just outstanding and so is the platform of foundation. Love the light hitting just the one side!
Ginnie Hart: This place was so much fun, Heather. You would have had a heyday there doing your portrait shots against these as backgrounds! Thanks.

LOL not caught out by this one Ginnie - no guards with guns to stop you climbing on it. Went to see the real thing on my first trip abroad on my own, made a big impression - the photos I took look like Ingrid's Holga photos ;o)
Ginnie Hart: Wow! What a great first trip abroad, Mike. One day I want to see this with my own eyes!! Thanks.

And again I wouldn't have noticed it was a miniature, but what do I know? Rhetorical question. Lovely tones.
Ginnie Hart: The more real it looks, Sherri, the better the miniature, as far as I'm concerned. You'd love this place. smile Thanks.
