Lake Zürich

(From our Zürich, Switzerland, trip last November.)

This is why I don't care if the sun doesn't shine.
But that's probably just me, right?!

You have captured a beautiful light, Ginnie, even without the sun shining.

Your composition and presentation are immaculate.
Ginnie Hart: I guess if there is light the sun IS shining, right, Ray?! smile Thanks.

i wish i'd feel that way when i'm vacationing too.. grin the grumpy clouds do look well though.. grin nice shot..
Ginnie Hart: I'm a redhead, Rian, so as long as it's not raining, I'm a happy camper with skies like this. smile

The light's gorgeous, particularly on the trees. What a great spot!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Ian. As long as there is light, we know the sun IS shining. smile
I laughed at your title. Mostly because I thought of my "sun" post today. Great job.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Christopher. Your sun was spectacular!
nice PP on this

This is an amazing picture, the boats are waiting to be taken out sailing again.....
Het licht is prachtig, zonder dat de zon schijnt, the light is beautiful even the sun is not shining.
To be honest, when I am on vacation I do like some sun...wink
I agree with Ray (after CHK translating.....immaculate=vlekkeloos)
Ginnie Hart: I do know you like the sun, lieve vriend! While you are getting your tan, I'll find a shady spot somewhere to cool off and protect my skin. Well, a few moments in the sun would do me good, of course, for little "treats" now and then. grin Ray is so funny. I don't think I'd ever describe any of my images as "immaculate." smile
very nice shot
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Olivier.

Gorgeous Ginny, muted colours suit the scene so well
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Tony.
Sun isn't obligatory! Nice shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: My sentiments exactly, Sir Bill! smile
Not just you Ginnie. This is lovely!
Ginnie Hart: So glad to have company, Richard. smile

I had similar weather in Berne Ginnie - this is a lovely peaceful shot.

One day you will fully saturate your pictures - hopefully soon!
Ginnie Hart: The day of saturation is coming, Chris! I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. In these images, of course, I'm still looking backwards. Maybe that's why I'm getting them done now!?! The day of saturation is coming!!

I like it Ginnie but I do like the sun to.The sky looks like Brisbane at the moment
Ginnie Hart: I love the sun, of course, Vintage, but I can't take too much of it because of my fair complexion. So I have made friends with brooding, lowering skies everywhere I go. smile
I love the threatening ambinace
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Chantal. Thanks.
vraiment très belle photo

Love the muted tones..the soft colors.. the mood you've captured and created. Idyllic!
Ginnie Hart: I guess it's my kind of mood, Marcie! smile
Yes Ginnie..I know..because my daughter is a true Red head aswell. The overcast sky helps you and also this picture. The whole lot blends well together. Lovely picture!
Ginnie Hart: Ahhhh. So I'm not alone in this, Ron! Skin cancer is in my family and every year I have to be checked. Actually, I've had a cancerous spot removed, so I really do have to be careful. Thanks for understanding. Keep that daughter of yours safe! smile
Nice atmospheric photo. I love the "Brava"!
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Wim, I almost titled the image "Brava!" smile
very nice. just like a postcard.
serenity!!
Rob
Ginnie Hart: This kind of mood actually IS serenity for me, Rob. A good word! Thanks.

I completely agree - there are days when I actually prefer rainy, gloomy days. This picture is a perfect example as to why.

ps. "wee walk away from my last post"? hopefully you mean in the series and not on SC?...
Ginnie Hart: HA! You can't get rid of me that fast, Mia. grin What I meant was that this spot today is just a "wee walk" down the path/road from the boat image of my last post on Monday. Not even a hop, skip and a jump. smile
A nice view. The sun is trying to burn a hole in the roof of clouds . That results into something nice.

I like sunny and cloudy weather. You can photograph in both but you just need to use other techniques. I do dislike very rainy days smile
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Paul. It always helps to accept whatever conditions we have and just adjust the camera settings to fit the mood. smile Thanks.

We dont have to have the sun all the time to be happy, but it does help from time to time.
I am also a sun worshiper the same as Astrid, but with your fair skin you would burn to a crisp no doubt.
This is a calming shot Ginnie, hopefully no storm to followsmile
Take Care Musketeer.
I have just taken Jo out for a driving lesson and we did not fall out once, I am impressed. I have bitten my lip though gringrin LOL
Ginnie Hart: I'm very sure even I would get despondent, Tracy, if I NEVER got any sun, so you're right. But I definitely am NOT a sun worshiper! I'm quite sure there will still be storms ahead, lieve vriend, but I have a feeling the worst ones are behind us! Thanks, Musketeer.
You've done it again Ginnie, another cracker of a shot and your usual very attractive finish.
Ginnie Hart: You are such a sweetheart, Brian. Thank you again.

Ginnie, i like it ... the sun don't must shine every time .. i like the mood from the lightning .. well seen
Ginnie Hart: You're right, Klaus. Sometimes we all just need to mellow out a bit. smile Danke.
oui le soleil n'est pas obligatoire pour un beau cliché
A+
Ginnie Hart: The sun IS shining, of course, Patrick, but sometimes we just don't see it...which makes a good lesson on life! Merci.

All the boats wrapped up for the winter. That and the weather give a wonderful melancholic feel to the photo, one that I associate strongly with the Swiss lakes.
Ginnie Hart: You and your melancholia fit in perfectly with many of my images, Mike. grin Thanks.
Those dark clouds seem to promise a storm, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I expected one every day, Chad, but we never had one while we were out-n-about!
Beautiful. Brava!
Ginnie Hart: I almost titled this "Brava," Michael. smile
It seems, thanks to the extraordinary sharpness of the image, which can take ships with my hands!
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, José Angel! smile

It is beautiful! And you are correct, with places like this who cares if the sun takes a break! Breathtakingly beautiful, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: We all need a break from time to time, Martie. grin Thanks.

It looks like a picture from the fifties as a result of your conversion. Almost like you can do a jigsaw from it - but of course it is possible.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Yes, anything is possible these days, Louis. Dat weten wij! smile

Summer season past- the boats are going to hibernate- the wateranimals are taking possession of the region, yes, blackdog is right, a melancholic feeling might cover the Zürisee -which I do like- sometimes I think November must be a good time for travelling!
Today we very enjoyed the first sunny day after a rainy period- een mooie ontmoeting met Wim en zijn gezin en een erg indrukwekkende tentoonstelling van zijn etsen in het Stedelijke museum!
Ginnie Hart: November is one of my favorite times to travel, Philine, because it's neither too hot nor too cold! The same with March or April. I can just imagine how delightful it was to see Wim and his family. You are very lucky that you also got to see his exhibition. I'm crossing my fingers for the slightest possibility of catching it myself before it closes...but that will probably be a miracle!

I love the tones in the light in this picture.Sometimes it is better photographing on a cloudy day smileBeautiful capture Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Frida. I've gotten so used to the moody skies of Europe that a plain, blue sky sometimes seems so ho-hum! HA!

Raining today so i can't get out and about so overcast would be alright with me. Lovely muted colours in this. Nicely processed Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: We're supposed to have rain the entire weekend, Aussie, with temps dropping into the 40s again (after high 70s for almost a week). Many times I have been thankful for it being overcast without rain while traveling. As long as it's not raining while I'm taking pictures, I'm fine! smile Thanks.
bonne soirée à toi et A+
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Patrick. smile
Nicely captured stormy atmosphere. Everything is quiet, waiting what will be next...
Ginnie Hart: While I was there, Miro, it never rained, which was the good part. I was able to bask in the mood. Thanks for stopping by again.
nicely done, I like the filtertone here ! Great work !
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Zeb.
