Swiss Radar

I have to take you back to Zürich, Switzerland, from last November.
It was such an enchanting place for me, even though it was overcast the entire time.

A man wearing a tophat oversees the Zürichsee!  :)

Ha Ha!

Very clean lines all over this image, Ginnie...must be due to the quality of oversight!
Ginnie Hart: The quality of oversight, the quality of life, the quality of everything in that part of the world! Yes, Ray. It's quite the place. Thanks.

I love the colors in this. I think the overcast sky makes a great backdrop this the white.
Ginnie Hart: I am such a glutton for overcast skies, Sherri, partly because I'm a redhead and can't take too much sun. Over time I have learned to love the moods of lowering, overcast skies. Thanks.

I like the contrast between he overcast sky and the bright colors on the boat. It reminds me that one can still have fun on a dull day.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Nathan. "Let nothing rain on your parade" is my motto. smile Thanks.
It is so sharp and great colours.
Ginnie Hart: I had my big lens with me that day, Michael, and it did me proud. Thanks.

'All aboard' than, I will lean back in my chair and enjoy the series, just a guess you took more than 'one' picture.
This 'Top Hat Guy' stands out proudly against the grey mountains in the back, proves again that sometimes it does NOT matter what kind of weather it is, now we stay focused on the foreground.
Okay, we are all set, 'sail away baby' gringrin
Geweldige foto om de week te beginnen.
Ginnie Hart: You guessed right, lieve vriend, so, yes, sit back and enjoy the ride. You deserve a good rest these days! One day we will both sail away into the wild, blue yonder, sun or no sun. It won't matter to us one whit, will it! Ontzettend bedankt.,

If that is a boat its the cleanest one l have ever seen, the colours are superb
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Tony, it is a boat! And a very "formal" one at that, when the men wear tophats! smile

A beautiful pic- the ship with a funny looking chimney- a gentleman with "Zylinder" and great red mouth!- in the background the hills- it must have been a prachtig- sunny day- and I remember to have gone even by this ship to Kilchberg in order to visit the grave of Thomas Mann! It is a wonderfully harmonious and rich (in many senses of meaning) region!
Ginnie Hart: It wasn't a sunny day on the outside, Philine...very overcast and foggy...but on the "inside" it was just magically beautiful. The bright colors definitely helped. smile
Now here's an image, crisp and clear, not over saturated, nicely prepared, composed and presented!!

Bravo!

Rob
Ginnie Hart: Now, after reading your post for today, I have a grin on my face, Rob. grin Thanks.

Love the image Ginnie, especially the Alps brooding in the background making the colours really jump out.
Ginnie Hart: You clearly know this neck of the woods, Mike, if you can see the Alps. I still can't believe I saw them here! Thanks.
Wonderful composition Ginnie. I like the colours contrast!
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes colors just have to be left alone, don't they, Richard. smile Merci.

I see the Swiss flag (please never mistake it for the English flag as somebody did some days ago!)- I have to continue my little story: As I asked the cemeteryservant where I could find the tomb of writer Thomas Mann he didn't know but he showed to me the glorious sepulchre of the family Lindt-Sprüngli and whilst his enthousiastic eyes glittered it made my mouth water! That is Switzerland, too!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Before I went on my trip last November, Louis made me promise to eat some Lindt chocolates for him. I even found a lovely billboard that advertised their goods. I can see why your mouth watered, Philine. grin

Did you talk them into washing it for you. I would imagine you doing it ha ha. Lovely image Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Yes, I would have done that in exchange for a ride around the lake, Aussie. You know me well. grin

The colors are even that much more intense and interesting against the overcast sky. Love this!!!
Ginnie Hart: That's one of the main reasons why I love overcast skies, Marcie! Thanks.
This really does stand out well against the brooding sky Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: That's why "overcast" is my middle name, Brian. grin
Beautiful capture Ginnie, love the clean sharp colors and tones. Great misty background, creates an interesting mood for this composition. You certainly have a fascinating travel portfolio.
Ginnie Hart: I have been very lucky to have traveled for the last 4 years throughout Europe and the world, John. Very lucky!
superbe contraste de couleurs une belle neteté de ce bateau A+
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Patrick. I smile every time I look at it. smile

Just guessing Ginnie ;o) but they are to the south west of Zurich.
Ginnie Hart: I have no clue, Mike but I think you're right since the Limmat River flows from here northeastwardly through the city! WOW. You just helped me figure that one out. smile

Hi Ginnie, love the blues and the clarity in the capture ... well done as always
Ginnie Hart: Danke, dear Klaus. As I just mentioned to Arash, all the primary colors are here: red, green, yellow and blue. smile
Love it, very amusing, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Awww. A good way to start a Monday, then, right, Chad?! smile
Very good Ginnie. I will resist singing tophat white tie and tailstongue
Ginnie Hart: HA! Go ahead, Bill, and charm us all. You can do it! smile

Buen recorte, me gustan los distintos colores tan llamtivos que llevan, supongo que para que se les vea.
Saludos.
Ginnie Hart: Muchas gracias, Alex. Your words are meaningful to me.
Apart from the pun...The overcast sky makes this shot even better. Good one Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: The more you know me, Ron, the more you'll know how much I like "overcast." smile (I'm a redhead and can't take too much sun, I'm afraid.)

must be a fine place to be at. I heard Switzerland is just beautiful, my mom went there in 2004. I need to visit Europe soon! =D Great shot!
Ginnie Hart: What I have seen of it thus far (Zurich and Basel), Liang, is worth going back for. But next time I'd like to see the Alps up close and personal. smile

Blackdog is right and this is one of the two "Schaufelraddampfschiffe"! (Wheel-steam ships)- you are lucky to have got to know it!

a clown maybe ;-) beautiful colors for that boat unless the overcast sky. So, you seem to have been charmed by suitzerland, don't you ?
Ginnie Hart: Oh, I like that, Martial...a clown. It does have a circus air about it! And yes, I was totally charmed by Switzerland. smile
In this picture highlight the contrast between the colors on the merits!
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, José Angel, to have backtracked like this. It means a lot to me. Gracias.

Great contrast on this deep overcasted sky !
Ginnie Hart: It was a fun day for me, especially seeing all this color. smile Thanks, Zeb.
Ginnie - I haven't been around here forever but I absolutely adore all of your photos from Switzerland. This one makes me smile along with your bikes in Zurich City.

And when the days are overcast, it's still a pleasure to be in Switzerland!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it is, ET. I'm glad, however, that you have found another place to love. smile
