Shadow of Things to Come

The shadow of our hot-air balloon from Sedona, Arizona, in late November.

Tomorrow I fly to Michigan to be with my sister's family
and will be gone till just after the new year, so...

Nice piece of shadow painting - hope you had a good Christmas ;o)
Ginnie Hart: My Christmas was very quiet, Mike (I was alone), but very good and peaceful...exactly what I needed. Thanks.
Have a great trip! cool shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Dawn. I'm excited about getting back to the State of my roots.

You've made the desert green, Ginnie. How cool is that?
Ginnie Hart: A muted green at that, Larry! They had just had some rain before we arrived, so things did not look as arid as in the summertime.
Lovely shot and what an idea!!!!
I really like the shadow of the balloon.
I hope you're having a nice time with your sister's family.
Happy New Year to you too!!!
Ginnie Hart: I haven't gone yet, Kavita, but by tomorrow, I expect to be in heaven. smile Thanks.

Nice shot, it almost looks like your balloon is deflating... =P
Ginnie Hart: That IS the thing about shadows, Brian, especially against a ridge! smile Thanks.
Love this wide and vast view Ginnie. Excellent capture and composition. The details and tones are outstanding. Have a Happy New Year.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you much, kind sir, and the best to you and yours as well.
Great capture Ginnie. That shadow makes the image even more dramatic.

Regards Ade
Ginnie Hart: It was such a delight, Ade, as we were landing, to see ourselves in this way. smile Thanks.
Oh man, something I've always wanted to do. A dream of mine.

Fabulous, Ginnie, an absolute gem of a shot smile
Ginnie Hart: I wish it for you and Pat, Paul. You'll love it! Thanks.

Een ontzettend mooie foto, geweldig gewoon, the shadow is fabulous, the colours just beautiful.
Your tittle is spot on, we live in the now, we don't know what will happen tomorrow, if it happens....it will happen anyway.
Please have a great time with your sister, there will be lots of snow, I know you will be as a kid in the hip-deep white stuff, after you have finished jumping around in it, could you take some pictures for us???? gringringrin....please wink
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt voor jouw lieve woorden, mijn vriend. You know how much I am excited about my trip to Michigan. It'll be a good place (of my youth) for closing one year and opening another. We only ever have shadows of what is to come, and that's as it should be. Let's see what 2009 has in store for us! smile

Ginnie - What a great shot! I DID have the chance once to balloon and it was wonderful BUT this scenery AND YOUR photo are OUTSTANDING - as always! Enjoy your New Year with Ruth et al. Happy 2009!
Ginnie Hart: So you know what it's like, Judy! Wunderbar! So glad you've experienced it. And yes, I am really looking forward to my time at Ruth and Don's! smile
You traveled in the balloon? Impressive! Wow! Magnificent shade!

Happy New Year to you and yours, Ginnie! The best for you!
Ginnie Hart: Oh, si, José Angel! It was one of the best experiences of my life. Gracias.

I agree with many comments- a fascinating pic indeed with the shadow of the balloon- but- despite the appropriate title- I don't feel a kind of threat-for there is an open, wide landscape- so many experiences, possibilities, and facts might come- and full of optimism we(and especially yourself/yourselves - one and two) will fight our/your ways through the bushes and brushes - only courage and confidence! With many good wishes for a really happy new year and many thanks for many pic- pleasures and kind words you have given to me the last year, your Philine
Ginnie Hart: I do agree with jouw woorden, Philine...no sense of threat at all. We were getting ready to land here and though I had never experienced that before in a hot-air balloon, it was not nearly as bumpy as I was prepared for. So maybe that's symbolic of the new year...having a gentle "landing." That would be "just like God!"
Oh no, Ginnie, the top of the balloon is missing...it is going to crash.
Ginnie Hart: HA! The top is behind the ridge, Chad. It ended up finding us again once we passed the summit...and then we landed without a hitch. smile
Happy New Year to you too, Ginnie!! Looks like someone sawed off the top of your balloon smile
Ginnie Hart: No, it's still there, Abisola...on the other side of the ridge and we caught up with it before we landed. grin
superb shot there Ginnie, belated merry xmas and all the best for the new year Ginniesmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir! The same to you and yours.
A very nice follow-up of the balloon appearing a few days ago.
A barren landscape it is!
Have a very nice oudejaarsavond with your folks!
Ginnie Hart: So glad you remember the other image, Wim. It was a memorable experience, for sure! Ontzettend bedankt.

Really cool image I think one of the shadows is you?

Have a great and prosperous New Year!!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Winter would be long gone by the time I got there, Frida, I'm afraid! sad And yes, one of those shadows surely must be me! smile
Great shot Ginnie but it still doesn't persuade me to fly in one of these contraptions. Enjoy your break and have a great New Year.
Ginnie Hart: Now, now, Brian. I know of at least two people who are deathly afraid of heights and LOVED their hot-air balloon experience. One of them is Tracy. Maybe she could talk you into it??

Striking shot. I love how the shadow is cut short by the landscape, it looks like you are very low too! Excellent capture.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Silas, we were getting ready to land after 1.5 hours in the air. The landing was as exciting as lift-off. smile Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
great idea, wonderful shot
Ginnie Hart: Ohhhh, thank you, Olivier! smile
Viewing these images, imagination and intuition I said that in 2009 will be a lot of black dots humanitarian issues and natural disasters. God please protect us. Regards from Yogyakarta City Indonesia.
