Let's Go Fishing!

The sun DID come out!
We have a new
President-Elect...the one "we" all wanted!  YAAAAY!
The collective energy of the entire world helped to bring this to pass.  So thank you all!

And, yesterday was my last day of work at Starbucks!

(This is a fishing boat off of Magnetic Island, Australia, from last May.
Notice that the distance/future is still foggy but the first few steps are brighter!)

The sun DID shine....and has been shining brightly all day long.
YES WE CAN..and more importantly - WE DID!!!
Ginnie Hart: It's going to take a lot of bi-partisan work, Marcie, but I believe it can be done...CHANGE. The entire world needs it to happen NOW!
AMAZING FOTO, Ginnie. Is This a boat to catch fish? Extraordinary colour. Regards from Yogyakarta Indonesia.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Bram. This is a fishing boat with the nets raised and at rest, after an early morning catch. The whole set-up intrigues me to no end!

You are so right...the sun has been out all day....so much so that I had the top down on the car on the way home today smile

I completely agree with Marcie... YES WE CAN and YES WE DID! I look forward to returning to Europe with our new President-Elect on the minds of the world. What a nice image to represent us... someone who is inclusive and concerned about represent all of the country...not just those that voted for him. Quite a change....

I definitely remember this boat in the harbor when we were going to ride in the open cockpit bi-plane on Magnetic Island. Your capture of this image is exceptional...the color, texture and detail are better than real life!
Ginnie Hart: You're referring to the Red Baron, Donica, and yes, that was here in this harbor. What fun memories!

Amazing capture...lol...no pun intended.

It looks like a bird...sort of. You know I have a vivid imagination. Beautiful image.
Ginnie Hart: HA! The "capture" is final, Sherri, and will hopefully start bringing about the change we all need...around the world! Thank you.

Yes the sun did come out, this is een geweldige foto, so sharp, so spot on.....Obama will not have much time right now to go fishing but you have all the time of the world, congratulations with your second retirement...enjoy every second of it...
The colours are fabulous, the border spot on....mijn complimenten!!
A nice picture to celebrate both occasions smile
Ginnie Hart: I hope Obama takes time to go fishing with his wee family...and then get back to work! He does seem to have a good sense of family, which I appreciate. Thanks for wishing me well in my second retirement. WHAT WAS I THINKING! Ontzettend bedankt.
Congratulations. I hope that he indeed is the best choice and things will only improve from here on, for your country, for mine and for the rest of the world.
Ginnie Hart: I do think things can only go up from here, Navin. At least that's what we're counting on, but it will take a lot of hard work! Thanks.
I like the crop and balance, where do we go for our caffiene now??
Ginnie Hart: HA! You can still go to Starbucks, Nigel. They may cost a lot but they sure are doing a lot for the world, which is one of the things I found out!

A wonderful, unbelievablely beautiful (unglaublich schön) pic! And two very good news! Now we can have HOPE again! The sea looks open for many new actions and developments and changes- not always easy as we know- but "You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair."(
gen. Douglas MacArthur)!
Ginnie Hart: HOPE is what the world needs, Philine. It's what we all need every day, as you know. What a great quote from Douglas MacArthur! WOW. I like that. Thanks.

Yes Ginnie and look the fishing boat is greeting your news with open arms on both accounts.smile
So pleased you got your man, and hope your second retirement stays that waygrin
Love the calling of the sea here Musketeer, what a beautiful daysmile
Ginnie Hart: I love that, Tracy--"open arms." Exactly. You'd love this place of the world! You could even speak English and get away with it. grin
Congratulations on a/ your new president and b/ your very sensible career move Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: You are a sweetheart, Chris. I am glad to finally be sensible once again!
Congratulations to you and all well-thinking Americans! I hope and wish the world will be a better place from now on.
And this is a wonderful photo; congrats on that too.
Ginnie Hart: One day at a time now, Wim, as we see things begin to change. It will take a lot of hard work but I think we will be soon back on-track!
I listened to the radio in bed at 3am listening to the results and was delighted. The shadow of George W will soon be lifted from the world. I do have to say I thought John Mcain's concession speech was both dignified and generous. I hope we never hear from that awful Palin woman again though. The world waits for a new era. I hope we are not disappointed.

Love the picture and bye bye Starbucks
Ginnie Hart: The shadow will indeed be soon gone, Bill. And yes, I read McCain's concession speech and was glad he said what he did (http://www.johnmccain.com/splash110408.htm). "That Palin woman"....only history will tell her story. Now it's time to get to work! I am so glad for the whole world right now. I can walk tall as an American now when I fly back to Europe!

I can't believe you have given up the chance for all that free coffee ;o) But I do know this is a very well composed photograph, a lot harder to get right than serving coffee so I think you made the right choice.
Ginnie Hart: If you saw the wear and tear on my body from the last few weeks, Mike, you'd wonder why I didn't leave sooner! I had no idea! But it still hasn't hit me...just give me a few more days! smile Thank you so kindly.

Good news indeed - I'm not suprised your country is rejoicing. What an interesting looking boat. I like the crop and the faint outline of the misty hills in the distance.
Ginnie Hart: There are some who are NOT rejoicing, Ingrid, but we have GOT to come together, despite all our differences. Thanks for your many kindnesses!
A grand picture Ginnie, just love these boats. Nice composition, well seen.
Ginnie Hart: They are grand dames of the sea, Les. Not like your locomotives exactly but grand nonetheless! Thanks.

Beautiful capture Ginnie, the boat is so sharp the ocean must have been quite still. Congratulations on your history making election.
Ginnie Hart: We gladly accept all the congratulations, Aussie, because we need the support of the world right now. Maybe I can walk tall as an American again!
Yes thankfully the right man got the job Ginnie - we were all hoping for that.

So you're a lady of leisure again!

A nice image to celebrate with.

excellent shot, and yes he's the one i was rooting for too.. grin
Ginnie Hart: So glad a new day has dawned, Rian!!!
A beautiful panoramic composition and capture, really lovely Ginnie.

Stayed up all night to witness this historic moment, which would stay in our collective memories for decades to come. And help inspire the lives of Billions around the world, mine included.
The future and hope for a better world for the younger generation is bright. Much work ahead and challenges to over come, but collectively YES WE CAN!!! smile
Ginnie Hart: YES WE CAN. We will never forget that catch-phrase as long as we live, Fotografa, will we! Thanks for your energy towards us. We need it.

A big bird of freedom has just landed in our waters, Ginnie. What a relief! I had tears in my eyes that night.

Regarding the composition of this shot- now we're talking! The mountain is a big help in balancing the picture.
Ginnie Hart: We all should have great tears of joy, Viktor. Now the hard work begins....
The picture, once more, is great (colors, sharpness and frame). Your words are also good: yes, we can!!! I'm glad people decided to vote for Obama, and I hope he does bring a change!!!
Ginnie Hart: We have nowhere to go but up, Berta, so change it will be! Thanks.

Beautiful depiction of the climate here in the US. I was delighted with the election results. I believe that us Yanks are walking the world with our heads much higher than they have been in years.

Beautiful photo.

Congratulations on your second retirement??

I will go back to Europe this coming week and already know I can now walk tall as an American!

An excellent picture by composition and every other way. The symbolism is excellent as well. Congrats on loosing the job and winning an acceptable president.

Let's hope he can get Dubya's legacy erased in due time.
Ginnie Hart: A big YES to everything, Louis. YES YES YES.
Hi Ginnie! Gorgeous image, wonderful colour and elegantly composed, cropped and framed. (:o)
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Roz! Thanks.
congrats on the photo and on the president-elect gin smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
A picture postacrd picture, Ginnie, which is a compliment. I am also very happy with your new prseident but in a way, a sense of relief is probably more accurate.
Ginnie Hart: I think we have all heaved a collective sigh of relief, Chad! We're all in this together this time around! Thanks for your part.
Hi Ginnie !
As long as I'm concerned I must tell you that I'm very happy to see "the one we all wanted" finally elected ! A great and good new for the world. Bravo !
And I see you was awaiting this historical date to have retirement .... smileCongratulation for the timing !!

A nice picture for a nice day !
Ginnie Hart: It was nice to have both dates coincide, Zeb, for sure! smile Thanks.
Superb and so well balanced picture! I like your crop and your border. Well done Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
Nicely composed picture Ginnie and the dim mountains really fill that part of the frame nicely.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Brian. It was such a glorious moment and place.

Congratulation to the winds of change! I think that there are many of us in other countries that are very glad for the outcome of this election. smile
Ginnie Hart: I do know that the world is breathing a bit more freely right now, Frida. But a lot of hard work is now in store for all of us. We cannot rest on our laurels, for sure!

Nice image, but I can't help thinking the boat has tuck shop arms.

Not commenting on the election, as I am over it. Four out of 5 free to air TV stations in Oz had it on, and we ain't even America.

(Tuck shop arms = Flabby triceps due to old age, usually found on women who work in school tuckshops/canteens. Same as bingo wings )
Ginnie Hart: HA! You have me laughing out loud, Brian, because the other day at Starbucks a lady looked at my upper arms and exclaimed: "WOW! You sure are buff! I bet you work out!" I told her it was from lifting all those heavy coffee urns! smile But you're right, that fishing boat is one relaxed lady with flabby triceps. grin
great front view

Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Still. I still hasn't hit me. smile
A stunning and beautiful picture Ginnie. Lovely composition with this amazing fishing boat and the background mountain. You captured the fishing boat perfectly, excellent details and clarity. What happened with Starbucks, I thought you loved that job?
Ginnie Hart: I "loved" Starbucks while it lasted, John, but it was very strenuous on my body. Not a job for a 63-year-old! No wonder they start health insurance after 90 days!
wow photo...
the greeny and yellowis ship crashing the color of blue ocean and sky...that's the power of this photo i think...

Ginnie Hart: So good to see you again, dear Kay. I hope YOU are doing well. I do heave hope that things will turn around soon for our country. Thank God!
Desire that this President is the best one for the USA and the world, Ginnie! All we were voting that day! The photo seems to me precious!

So you left Starbucks? What are you doing now? Did you start business somewhere else?
I like the composition in this photo. The colours are great and give sea gives a amazing contrast to the coloured boat.
Ginnie Hart: I'm retired again, Cliff, and will go back to traveling with Donica again. Thankfully the Starbucks arrangement did not last long. It was way too stressful for me!!! Thanks for stopping by again!
Excellent seascape composition, I like how boat's yellows strongly appears on blue sea, even found some fading horizon..
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for finding this and commenting, Miro. That means a lot.
