Take Me Out to the Ball Game

As I've said, October is the month of our Major League Baseball playoffs and World Series.
I don't know about you but cotton candy is one of my favorite reasons for going to a baseball game!

(and, YES, I make sure I brush my teeth afterwards!)

Without reading your text I have been trying to guess that you were showing! I guessed it!

Mmmmm! I like, too!

Yum, "fairy floss", reminds me I haven't eaten any in a while.
Ginnie Hart: I'm a happy camper if I can get it once a year, Aussie. It doesn't take much to make me smile. smile

Great shot, Ginnie.

Ginnie love the title and the picture.smile
The candy floss sure is the lighter option to the Bacon Buttie!grin
The two colours are very tactful, no falling out which colour to have by they children, young or oldsmile

Have a good day Musketeersmile
Ginnie Hart: I had no idea you Brits called this candy floss! WOW! Don't you just love English! HAHAHA!

Hotdogs are my reason...

Cotton candy melts so fast my stomach thinks my mind pulled a trick on me.

Love the colors...wonderful composition.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, I could go for the hotdogs, Sherri, though I never do, for some reason. But the way that cotton candy melts in my mouth is exactly the magic of it for me. I don't like hard candy but THIS is like wispy candy that has no substance. That must be why I like it so much...like it's really not candy at all. smile
Lovely picture Ginnie. Like the framing and the colors. My granddaughter loves cotton candy. She's only 3 years old and ate 2 of those. This picture is a classic for bringing back memories, excellent composition.
Ginnie Hart: We all have to be Kids from time to time, John, and not care a hoot about our teeth or health or whatever...as long as we don't do it every day, right?! smile

It's a new image from Ginnie....Might be in Atlanta soon.
Ginnie Hart: Are you serious, Ada about Atlanta??? WHEN! Please tell me. I sure hope it's when I'm HERE and not gone again. We'll be in Sedona over the Thanksgiving weekend and in part of December I'll be back in Amsterdam. So when are you talking about???

I know you and Nicholas love this stuff...but it is just too sweet for me!

I love the colors and the composition!
Ginnie Hart: I think because it melts so quickly in my mouth, it doesn't feel so sweet, Donica. I know that sounds weird, but you know I don't like hard candy. This is NOT like hard candy to me. That's why I like it so much. BUT once a year or so is enough. (I forgot to have some at the fair, didn't I!)

I would love to go to a ball game again, I had to smile, I never knew this is one of the reasons you went.....I always thought it was the game..gringrin.

Love the colours and the DOF, going to the ball game is the whole scene on and outside the field.

Have a great day Musketeer, still digesting my Bacon Buttie wink
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, I DO get distracted when I'm at the actual ballgame, truth be known. So much other stuff is going on around me...like cotton candy! Thanks. smile

Oh, Ginnie, sweet memory of childhood days long ago, when we visited the fairground hustle and bustle "Zuckerwatte (wool candy), Liebesperlen and gebrannte Mandeln" were always a delicious part of our little pleasures then! When today I'm looking at your pic it is a very nice collection of glaring coloured things! But I can imagine how yourself and Nicholas are enjoying that sweets! "Gebrannte Mandeln" are still my favourite lekkerli although quite more dangerous for the teeth than your soft cotton candy! Smakkelijk eten!
Ginnie Hart: Do you think children of all ages all around the world know about cotton candy, Philine! I sure do hope so. It's so magical!
Do they have toffee apples too? Enjoy the series. Oh and I like the picture too
Ginnie Hart: Toffee apples at the ballgame, Bill? I don't think so, but why not. I think that's something we have at the fair, especially in the fall, but we were just at the fair a week ago and I don't remember seeing any. Surely they were there...but not at the ballgame. Thanks.

You have a delicious reason to follow the games wink

Oh Ginnie - looks yummy but what I like is to watch them "spin" it onto the paper cone. Makes me think I've not had any in a long time - thanks for the remminder. Love having your pictures....
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Judy, you are so right. To watch them spin the candy onto the cone is such a delight. I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it!

What we call candy floss - I love the smell when they are "spinning" it but too sweet for me. Good shot too!
Ginnie Hart: I love that...candy floss. I sure wonder how you Brits came up with THAT!

I had no idea what this was till I read your intro - I thought they were dusters! I like the way the picture conjures up a whole scene in one detail.
Ginnie Hart: Dusters! HA! I had to laugh when I read that, Ingrid, because I just used one of those a week ago at work and, yes, come to think of it, it did look like cotton candy/floss! smile

aaaaaww.....sigh....candy floss....I have to go to hospital today for some test and I've not been allowed to eat (anything) since yesterday morning, I am know drooling all over my keyboard!
Ginnie Hart: Awwww. Poor thing. I sure hope you're okay, Padraig. So glad my candy floss could cheer you up. smile
It looks disgusting to eat .... but then I'm not American. richard
Ginnie Hart: If I'm reading the comments correctly, Richard, it sounds like this is much more than an American phenomenon!!!! smile
Here we call it "budi mai da jhatta" which translated in Englis means old woman's hair
Ginnie Hart: OMG, Navin. That is so perfect a description...but not something I'd want to think of while eating it!!

Sorry Ginnie, tempting as it looks, I'll pass on this one smile But, Wifey and the kids all have sweet tooth's, so this would be one most definitely for them smile Lovely colour tones.
Ginnie Hart: Believe it or not, Fotografa, I really don't have a big sweet tooth. I can't handle hard candy at all. But it must be the texture that entices me...the melting magic in my mouth. I guess I'm an...no, I won't say it! grin
Makes my mouth water.

A very interesting image Ginne. I wouldn't have know what it was; we call it Candyfloss in the UK
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Chris...I've discovered what you Brits call this. It's delightful...maybe as a reminder to floss your teeth afterwards??? smile

I have not had candy floss in years! There's an instant memory flooding back from this photograph which brings a blush to my cheeks (and not one I am willing to share ha ha smile )

Didn't have blue and pink when I were a nipper! smile
Ginnie Hart: It think it always came in white when we were kids, Paul, right? It was like eating a cloud! Maybe that's part of the magic for me. smile

A blush to your cheeks? Oh, wouldn't we love to know THAT story!!

I love this blog. Get to learn neat terms like Candy Floss from our friends across the pond.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Travis. I learn something new every day here at SC. smile Thanks for stopping by again.
Are the pink ones for the girls?
Ginnie Hart: HA! Must be, Wim. Though you get both in one package, I see! smile
By-the-by: in Dutch it is called 'suikerspin', lit.: sugar-spider
Ginnie Hart: Sugar-Spider! Hmmmm. I think I heard about that, Wim. Sounds like a fairytale to me. smile
I would be buzzing around on a sugar high for a few hours then crash.
Ginnie Hart: Believe it or not, Michael, I can handle cotton candy better than sucking on a hard candy! It never affects me in the way I think it should. That's why I think it's magic. smile

In my hometown the most practised sport is basketball. My son plays in one of the best teams in the conference. But sugar candy is not sold at the games. They sell popcorns, instead.

Great photo, Ginnie.

Nice one! Cotton candy or candy floss, whatever the name, it tastes good only if eaten outside (and in the dark).

yummy, cotton candy... I love it... although it is reaaly sweet and not so healthy
Ginnie Hart: Moderation in everything, Chantal...that's my motto. smile
We call this Candy Floss Ginnie but we only get one lump to a bag over here. I like the mottled OOF background these bags are set against.
Ginnie Hart: We used to get one BIG "lump," Brian, but now they're making it multi-colored, I see.

Hmmmmm whats that? Cotton-candy? I'm not sure if I like that blue (strange colour NEH!) stuff, its very SWEET, (made from spinned sugar?) That kinda candy I know I've eaten that when I was a kid, It looked greater and tastier as its tasting in reality... But its an exiting candY, yes! afterwards ... brush your teeth, do so....

Come and enjoy y holiday impressions, we just returned from PORTUGAL...
