Brings back memories. It's been years since I've played badminton. Good details and tone.
Ginnie Hart: Memories for me, too, Red Pen because in high school days, my siblings and I used to play like mad! We had our own teams (8 kids grin ).
Can I come and play?

Oh yes this does bring back memories. The only place I really played was at my grandmother's house. She bought us a badminton set so that we had more to do while we visited her. I usually played by myself ironically...
Ginnie Hart: How could you play by yourself, Jen! WOW! That would be quite the sight. grin I love it.
"Kock" was the ball to play badminton. In our country of so many stories about the history of world badminton. The composition that was good with colour that was typical. Regards From Yogyakarta.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Bram, the shuttle cock! I guess it's played almost everywhere around the world!

Ginnie Hart: I sure hope not, Larry. grin

It's been years since I've played this game and when I saw this shot I remembered that's called the "birdie". I never could figure that out.
smile
Ginnie Hart: Awww. You're so right, Sherri. The shuttlecock is the birdie. I had forgotten that. We used to play some mean badminton in our day (in my family of 8 siblings)!

A celebration of my favourite racquet sport!

Hello again!

This composition is very simple, the muted colors rock, and thought of somebody possibly picking up this shuttle cock for a game just sound like fun.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Brian. I didn't play that day but wish I had put the camera down long enough to do so!

Prachtig hoe deze foto herinneringen tereugbrengt.
I bet it was a 'hot' game while played.
I love the colours and composition, I am looking for a clover 4.....wink
Ginnie Hart: I knew you'd be looking for a 4-leafed clover! I just knew it!!! grin Whe we siblings were much younger, we played some mean badminton. We could have tried out for the Olympics. smile

Yes, I agree with Astrid "herinneringen terugbrengt"! We called this game "Federball" and we played it all over the day on the street (this was then possible!), on the meadows and zelf in the hofje achter het huisje! A wonderful soft, often silent, almost poetical ball-game: "Feder"-ball, and you have depictured this little gentle thing- nice colours and composition!
Ginnie Hart: It's one of the more affordable pieces of sport's equipment, Philine, isn't it! smile
I used to play this
Ginnie Hart: So glad you're one of us, Chris! grin
tu arrives à avoir des photos d'une telle densité qu'un simple volant fait un objet d'art!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, O-P. Some objects just stand out, don't they!

Oh, we've been playing all summer at our cottage. It's so fun. Ginnie, I love the tone in the "Farm Day" series. It's lovely.
Ginnie Hart: You're so kind, Frida. I love that so many are playing or remembering badminton. We played a mean game growing up as siblings!

How can a "pena" (portuguese word smile) laying on grass make such a fine image? "Ginnie" is the answer, of course! smilesmile
Ginnie Hart: Now I'm blushing, Lina!
I like this, Ginnie! Nice old tones!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
In my days we used them proper shuttlecocks 'wiv fevers' on them. It's a great game and too damn fast for me now .... richard
Ginnie Hart: HA! I didn't play this time but maybe I would have said the same thing, Richard?!

Great game that anyone can join in (even Ingrid has been known to stir herself). Like the balance of the shot ;o)
Ginnie Hart: I can just see Ingrid stirring herself! grin You just made my day, Mike.

Lol at Mike - anyone would think I was lazy or something! To tell the truth badminton did rather show up the lack of my hand to eye coordination skills! I like the simple compositioin of this and the muted contrast of red and green.
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: I know, Ingrid. The image of you stirring yourself has me quite tickled. grin Thanks.
Years since I've done badmitton. Who would think this would make such a cool shot? Good eye.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Jennie. We played a mean game growing up. There were 8 of us siblings and we were fanatics. smile

Just returned after a while away and yours was the first I had to review.

I've just taken a look at a few of your latest submissions and really like what you've done with the presentation of your Farm Day shots.

Always innovative. Good work as always Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Colin. That means a lot coming from you. Welcome back.

We take raquets and shuttlecocks when we go camping but its allways too windy!!
Ginnie Hart: It's one of those games easily transported, Padraig, and played almost anywhere...and cheap with cheap equipment! Good for you.

Your eries is a rich evocation of our timeless memory. Very fine!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Still.
I don't quite think this one works for me Ginnie. I normally like your muted tones treatment, but there is something unappealing about this grass. I like the idea and composition but not the colour.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, of course, Bill! This is not one of my favorite images by any means. Let's just send it to the bottom of the heap. I agree, totally. Thanks for admitting it. smile
Great shot. A very strong composition and I like the muted colour.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.

Great way to finish a series. It loooks as if someone had forgotten it on the grass after finishing the game.
GAME OVER! grin
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure that's exactly what happened...probably when they were told it was suppertime! Thanks, Albert.

Wonderful composition! I like the colours here. Funny thing I just went playing badminton last monday after 7 years again. It was great!
Ginnie Hart: It sure seemed to bring back happy memories for a lot of people, Cliff! smile
