Bishop, the Barn Cat

This is a series of impressions from our annual Farm Day in Michigan on August 9th.

She does her job well and knows when to rest!
(even non-cat lovers would be impressed)

RELAX and enjoy your weekend!

Happy Birthday to my sister Ruth!

[Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Awh, that Bishop...she gets around on the blogs doesn't she? Love your composition. I reminds me of the way Abigail was lying on our wicker love seat when I captured her eyeing me with one eye. I'm always amazed at the subtle and lovely tones in your images.
Ginnie Hart: This was out on Ruth's porch in the early morning, Sherri, and I wondered what conquests she (Bishop) had already captured that day. Your words are kind. Thank you.

Very sweet. Love the position you've captured her in. Really nice!
Ginnie Hart: Even though this was in the early morning out on Ruth's porch, I had a feeling that Bishop had already had a full day of work. Or maybe because it was the weekend, she was already relaxing from a busy week? smile Thanks, Marcie.

Awwwwwww. That is so cute. I just want to scoop her up. Nice catch with a personality-filled pose.
Ginnie Hart: Gotta have the "awwww" factor ever so often, Red Pen, right?! grin Thanks.
That is a seriously good cat portrait Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: You are seriously kind to say that, Chris! Thanks.
Somebody wants a belly rub.
Ginnie Hart: If anyone would know that, Mary, it's you!

One of the best cat portraits I've seen on SC. So adorable!
Ginnie Hart: Flattery will get you everywhere, Larry, and I mean that sincerely! smile Thank you. You know how to make my day.

........erm.......even the non-cat lovers would be impressed....I have a slightly tiny idea you point at someone who speaks Dutch...grin
tongue This is a great picture, I think/know this Mrs. Bishop has quite a character, that counts on her behalf wink
Congratulations Ruth, I think Bishop will be nice to you today.
Relax and have a great weekend.
...ooops.....almost forgot, geweldige foto, genomen vanuit een mooie positie.
Ginnie Hart: Someone who speaks Dutch? Hmmm. Let me think.... grin Well, you know that I'm not a big animal lover, at least not in the house, but it really IS hard to not fall in love with Bishop, especially when she takes over the porch chair like this in the early morning. Even I can admit that. Ontzettend bedandt voor jouw lieve woorden, altijd.
Very cute and I love the processing in this image...
Ginnie Hart: Awww, thanks a million, Gina.

Awwww that is adorable. My cat would run if I tried to get a shot like this!
Ginnie Hart: HA! I don't have my own cat, PJ, but I'm guessing they do have their own minds, from what I've seen. I wonder if Bishop had already had her conquest for the day, even though it was early morning? But maybe because it was already the weekend, she knew it was time and okay to relax.

I love cats, and you're right, even if I did not, I would be extremely impressed. What a wonderful expression Bishop has on her face, Ginnie! She looks very happy. Her face and her curled up paws are indicative of that. smile
Ginnie Hart: Since you surely know more about cats than I do, Kay, you would know how to interpret this better than I. But I, too, saw a very happy cat! Thank you.

O yes, cats can teach us to find our balance, and your sister has found that! Congratulations to her en een prettig weekeind voor jou and Donica toegewenst van Philine
Ginnie Hart: Finding our balance is something we all need to learn, Philine, throughout our lives. Thanks for that thought and the weekend wishes. The same to you and yours.
Super cat portrait, Ginnie. Love the pose - relaxed but still watching, all the same. (:o)
Ginnie Hart: I like that, Roz...relaxed but still watching. I think that's the way of cats, if I understand them correctly (I've never had one of my own). Thank you...and so glad I've finally met you. smile
il est incroyable ce chat! gÊnial!
Ginnie Hart: She truly is an incredible cat, O-P. Merci.
Happy birthday to sister Ruth. Love the cat...well I wouldsmile
Ginnie Hart: Ruth will be pleased, Bill, about both. smile Thanks.
Ginnie, I just know you'd be such a success with an online photography business. I've got to see your camera when we get together. The resolution is fabulous.
Ginnie Hart: HA! You sure know how to make my day, Bob. grin Thank you. Let's set up an "appointment" for when I get back to Atlanta next week!

awww...just super-cute! i spent ten years trying (and failing) to take just one decent photo of my cat! this is excellent!
Ginnie Hart: Some cats must be asking for their photograph, then, Trotsky, because this took no effort at all, I guess we can thank Bishop!

Gorgeous cat. I'm not a cat person but since my oldest daughter have two cats now, I have to say that I really like them. But only the cats I know ;-)
Ginnie Hart: I have never owned a cat myself, Frida, so I only see them from "afar." But like you, I have grown to like certain ones. This ones doesn't take much effort, truth be known! Thanks.

Super cat portrait Ginnie. They certainly know how to turn on the charm when it suits them. That's why I love cats so much - they are their own master and we are just here to serve them! This portrait just exudes essence of cat for me.

Nice shot! I really like this picture. She looks so adorable especially with her two paws up front like that.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Stanley, for stopping by and commenting.
I recognize that pose!! It says, "I can do no harm, that wasn't me that ate your favorite plant!"
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHAHAHA! I'll have to tell Ruth! Thanks, Will.
I'm not a great cat person Ginnie despite having Mickey in the house when I was a child but this one lokks very calm and contented.
Ginnie Hart: I have never lived with cats, Brian, so I don't know firsthand what everyone else talks about. BUT I have learned over time that they are their own person! smile Thanks.

I missed Ruths Birthday! Crickey! Happy belated birthday Ruth, and this is an adorable picture Ginnie. I love cats but I'm afraid they never let me touch them.
Ginnie Hart: Birthdays just last longer when you're not on time, Ada, so just think of it as an extended birthday for Ruth. smile
Aww, cute puddy tat. I feel I could reach in and touch her cute pink nose.
A very special cat portrait, even non-cat lovers couldn't fail to be enchanted!
Ginnie Hart: You're so right, Pat. So right!
