Lazy Days of Summer

A "side-attraction" at Zaanse Schans, the reconstructed Dutch village outside of Amsterdam.
I hope it will be a lazy weekend for you, if that's what you need!

My weekend is going to be great. I am supposed to go boating in Iowa..Hope I have fun and get to see sights like this. I hear Iowa has this european feel. I can't wait.
Ginnie Hart: I thought Iowa was a flat cornfield, Ada. grin You'll end up knowing more about it than I do. Have a good trip and come back and tell us all about it.

It looks as old as the old windmills. Love the texture of the peeling paint. Great processing.
Ginnie Hart: Maybe as old, Marcie, you're right. I really do like OLD. smile Thanks.
Nice Ginnie. Waow.. definitely children were happy playing in this boat. Held the previous rope went towards to the opposite side. The tree trunk to framing that was good, Ginnie. The warm atmosphere. Regards from Yogyakarta Indonesia.
Ginnie Hart: You have good eyes, Bram, about that transport rope. It's not far but too far to jump across. smile Thanks.

Looks like a sturdy ride across, very nice shot. You seem to have it down with this color style your using lately.

p.s. now that i understand the schmood, it dont have ton wonder anymore!
Ginnie Hart: I have had fun with this "style," Brian. It feels so me, if that makes any sense. Thanks.

My favourite, so far, in this brilliant series, Ginnie.

This boat is crying out for the company of young adventurers.
Ginnie Hart: Wow. You never cease to amaze me, Ray. smile Thanks.

It looks like a photo from the past. Lovely.
Ginnie Hart: I think it is, Sherri! I have a feeling it's been sitting just like that for a long time. smile Thanks.

Prachtig licht, ontzettend geweldige foto,
love the crop, boats like this are all over the place, they survive no matter what......meer dan je weet.
Again this picture says Holland all over, I think I take the boat and start rowing into the weekend....wink
Bedankt voor de mooie serie, een prettig weekend.
Ginnie Hart: Mooie licht op een mooie dag, Astrid. It even snowed that day, earlier in the morning. We have much to learn about boats like this! They can sit there all alone and look like they have no care in the world...just waiting for the right moment to experience "a good row" again! Ik hou van het!

Looks just as well it doesn't have to "sail" very far to reach the other side smile
Ginnie Hart: Right, Bill. Just a hop, skip and a jump for this old geezer! grin Thanks.

not one of the world's most taxing ferry journeys i'd hazard to guess!
Ginnie Hart: HA! This old geezer has it easy, Trotsky, at this point in his life. He's lucky and he knows it.
I like the lighting in this shot Ginnie.

Have a great weekend.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Bernie. You, too.

I presume this is a kind of mini ferry to get across the water! Lovely details and I like the framing with the tree on the left, and the crop.
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: That's what it looks like to me, too, Ingrid. It looked so charming! Thanks.
You take delightfully sublte coloured photographs, Ginnie, and this is no exception.
Ginnie Hart: And you're a sweetheart, Chad! smile Thanks.

It seems Ginnie that this one has been lazy too ! smile
Have a great and lazy w-e too !
Ginnie Hart: This is one lazy old geezer, Flo. But he deserves it. smile Thanks.
Love the texture, the boat seems retired though.
Ginnie Hart: Retired but not useless, Sesan. smile I like that.

Ginnie Hart: You, too, Klaus, and thank you!

Ginnie Hart: I think we all could say that, DrAW. I hope you get at least one of them! Thanks.

very nice shot, I like the sepia like tone, but it is not all sepia, isn't it?
Ginnie Hart: It's that sepia through certain PS layers, Chantal, that keeps some of the color. I am loving the effect, which is why I keep using it! smile Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: Absolutely, Kathryn. I would love to see where it takes us. smile

Ginnie that boat looks a little like me at weeks end " over worked"
Ginnie Hart: HA! But will you have a chance to just sit there, then, for awhile? I hope so, Vintage.

Beautiful warm tones and textures! I love how the light leads you to the center of the boat...

Hope you have a great weekend, Ginnie and yes, I could use a lazy one!
Ginnie Hart: For me, this boat symbolizes how I want to end my life. smile Thanks, Mary

A great, old "seen-better-days" boat still afloat!
I especially like the common tone over the picture which (for me) has a nostalgic feel to it.
A very effective image.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Don. You have expressed this just exactly as I felt it!

Kathryn (welkome!), I would like to join you, let's boat away for some hours along the grachten, under bridges, passing by windmills and feeling the warm sun on the face, relaxing pure! I admire how sharply you have captured all materials so that I have the illusion to touch them: the rust of the boat, the bark of the tree, the glittering water!
Ginnie Hart: It won't take us long before the boat is full, Philine, and we will be off to Never Neverland! smile Bedankt, mijn vriend!
Evening sun, a boat to go fishing in, a pleasant scene Ginnie, weel spotted.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Les. It's exactly the feel I need for this weekend just beginning!

This ferry has a lot of character. I don't remember the last time I saw one like that actually in use.
Ginnie Hart: Not like THIS one, Martin, for sure. smile Thanks.
Nice peaceful picture for the weekend Ginnie. A reunion lunch is in hand for Sunday, meeting some people I haven't seen for over 40 years, and all female as well.
Ginnie Hart: WOW! That means you've lived a life long enough for it to come around again full circle, Brian. I love it when that happens! Thanks.
Lovely evocative shot Ginnie - but I feel it isn't going to go very far!
Ginnie Hart: Not very far, Chris, but far enough for this little bit of canal! smile Thanks.
I like the tones on this. I beginning to think it's your photographic signature. Nicely done.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, I like that, Kunle. smile Thank you kindly!

Wasn't lazy at all, while I actually would have liked a slow one. But then it was full of offspring activities and thus worthwhile.

Great composition. You should drag the boat on the side and started cleaning and painting - I am sure Astrid could instruct how.
Ginnie Hart: Our weekends are almost always full of offspring activities when we're home, Louis, so I know what you mean. Those weekends just fly and I wonder where they went!
Mmmm! I love this composition!
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, José Angel! Thanks.
