A Hunting We Will Go

So, at Kinderdijk (Child's Dike), Holland, where the 19 windmills live, the kids must play!
If you go to Astrid's site
, you'll see her version.

Therefore, No Mutters (Motorbikes)!

I'm somehow relieved they don't allow motorbikes to mix with ol' fashioned pedal power. Love the color cast in this image.
Ginnie Hart: I agree, Marcie. The sound would be so out of place! Thanks.

Great photo like the colour tone.would the windmill be pumping water or crushing grain?
Ginnie Hart: The windmills were/are for pumping water, Vintage. There was so much water that they had to build 19 windmills to pump it out! Amazing!

Really like seeing how you and Astrid have a different take on places you visit together, Ginnie.

Eerrr...where are your [non-motorised] bicycles?
Ginnie Hart: We drove the car 30 minutes from Astrid's house to get to this place, Ray, so we had no bikes. We could have rented them but it was more fun to walk with our cameras, stopping every few feet to take pictures. We spent 2 hours there. And yes, it's always fun to see how 2 photographers see the same thing...with different eyes. We decided long ago that she does the macro seeing and I do the landscape seeing. smile

Brede glimlach hier mijn vriend, I never knew you took my picture while I was in action, I have to admit I like what I see, I am talking about the windmill wink.
It is like Ray said, we go together on photo-hunt and we never end up with the same pictures.
We have our own personal style, point of view, PP, thats makes it so much fun to look after the 'hunt' at the results, I just realized we never look at the pictures while we are 'on the hunt'.
Bedankt voor de ontzettend gezellige dag, het is een hele leuke foto geworden.
Ginnie Hart: It's because of our photo hunts, dear Astrid, that I have learned how much different photographers see things...differently! It is one of the reasons why I love our photo hunts. Thank you for taking me to your world there in Holland. Maybe one day I can take you to mine here in the States. Ontzettend bedankt.
That is priceless. You girls do have fun.
Ginnie Hart: For sure, Michael, when we can be foot-loose and fancy-free, we have loads of fun. Thanks.

a lovely pic which combines so many details-first "your" molen, then the dream-team-partner Astrid with her camera, then the hints to typical Dutch things like fiets and bromfiets! I very like the Dutch words 'bromfiets' and 'brommen' because they let sound the horrible noise of these vehicles-brrrrmmmm!- here we enjoy a peaceful and quiet scene, a typical Dutch scene!
Ginnie Hart: I LOVE that new word for me, Philine. Brommen! I started laughing when I did an online translation search and it came up with "mutters." That's when Astrid told me it was correct. What a great word and a fun sign. Thanks, Philine.
Nice shot Ginnie...an artist at workgrin Tell Astrid that Rucksack camera bags make carrying the stuff round much less of a pain in the shoulder!
Ginnie Hart: I'm the one that carries the backpack, Bill, so I don't tell her anything. I let her learn by observing. grin Thanks!
You gals having way too much fun smile
Ginnie Hart: Every time we get together we have way too much fun, S&S. I have never laughed so much in my entire life! I'm like a little kid whenever we're together. smile Thanks.
Love the tones, Ginnie. What fun you two do have. (:o)
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Roz, we are laughing more than we're not. Good medicine for the Hart & Soul!! smile Thanks.

Terrific shot of the other photographer in action. Always nice to see.
I will have to be careful tomorrow, as V and I are heading out on our first photo hunt together.
Ginnie Hart: You will have a blast, Aussie. Both of you will have to refer to each other in a post for the same day, like we did. It will amaze you how differently you both will view things. That's the glory of it! Have fun. I'll be thinking of you. smile

Nice to see the connection with both of your photographs taken at this spot, together.

Excellent colours
Ginnie Hart: We have such fun, Paul, when we do this. I guess that's what photography is all about! Thanks.
The photographer being photographed! lol! But you know what? This one makes me even more wistful to return and visit the Netherlands again. I live for three years on the border by Roermond. smile
Ginnie Hart: If you ever plan to go back, Alex, PLEASE (alsjeblieft!) let me know! I will want to show you around. smile Thanks.
You sound as if you and Astrid have some really good times together Ginnie, I have been reading your latest entries on your blog. I like this and I also like Astrid's take on the same scene.
Ginnie Hart: We have such great fun together on our hunts, Brian. I guess you can't keep "good" photographers down. grin thanks.

I like this shot of the shooter very much. The setting for this beautiful windmill with the waterway adds to the interest and appeal. Nice shot.
Ginnie Hart: It was so much fun for us, Don. Thanks.

I'm also a fan of shooting the shooter.. especially so when the shooter is in a funky pose.. grin This one though is just lovely..
Ginnie Hart: I have another one of my sister shooting, Rian, so I'll maybe put that up next week. It IS fun to get photographers doing their thing! Thanks.

The Dutch word "brommen' is a rather funny word like the German "brummen" too because the one word has some different meanings : not only the "bromfiets can "brommen", also a bear,a fly ("bromflieg"), an unfriendly man ("brommig/brommerig/brompot" or mumbling into his beard so that I can't understand him), my head (in German), to sit in a prison (in German). "Dus niet brommen" can mean quite different "things", hahaha!
Ginnie Hart: I LOVE words like that, Philine. A play on words is always up my Gemini alley. smile Thanks.

Philine is so right, I tried to explane all of these things to you, but you know me, I talk English and Dutch to you and than it gets difficult sometimes to figure out 'what is what' but brommen is such a nice word, brommen in Dutch is also to go to prison, for when you are inside the prison one starts to mutter/brommen....
Als we Philine toch niet hadden met haar mooie Nederlands, geweldig!!!! tongue
Ginnie Hart: Philine is our SC Wikipedia, Astrid. Don't we just love her!
Excellent shot Ginnie. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Pat. smile
I like the way the photographer leads you to the Windmill .... richard
Ginnie Hart: In this place, Richard, the photographer ALWAYS leads you to the windmill! smile Thanks.

You shouldn't allow people to stand in your way when taking pictures. Otherwise a great picture!
Ginnie Hart: Usually I don't put up with "just anyone" standing in my way, Louis. Astrid seems to have wrapped herself around my little finger! smile
GinnieAstrid/AstridGinnie! I have liked hard this dual work! This is an excellent idea. Bravo, friendly!
Ginnie Hart: Yup, that's us, José Angel! smile It's hard to separate us when we're on our hunts. Thanks.
A photograph technically DOF that was perfect. Why? Yes... because BG was still joining with POI. Salute Ginnie.
Regards From Yogyakarta Indonesia.
Ginnie Hart: You know how to make me smile, Bram! smile Thank you.
