I love the tones too, great de-saturation effect. And the scene, well, they look like kids who are grown up somehow.
Ginnie Hart: This reminds me of a "before" photo of two friends who are, as you say, grown up now, Ruth. Friends who bring out the Child in each other. That's what I saw when I first glanced at these girls. They just captured my imagination!

Beautifully executed, Ginnie.

That looks like the "crunchy" variety of sand.
Ginnie Hart: I guess you're right about the sand, Ray...though it was probably more damp than crunchy. It was quite cool and the sun wasn't shining yet. Thanks.

Lovely children-pic- I like that they are not conscious to be photographed by you, they become totally absorbed in their own talking and playing... Prettige pinksteren toegewenst!
Ginnie Hart: They were indeed absorbed in their own world, Philine, even though I was actually quite close to them. It was wonderful to behold. Thank you.

This reminds me of the fun my children used to have, playing on a beach, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: This reminds me of the fun I still have, Chad, whenever I'm at the beach. I saw myself in those girls! smile Thanks.

This is a lovely image, Ginnie - totally natural and unposed. I really like the subdued toning - have you done anything special to this?
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: I actually was nearby to them, Ingrid, but they still were absorbed in their own world. It was delightful.

This actually is a B&W/sepia conversion through the Multiply layer on PS. There are two ways to do it and one keeps a hint of the color, which I'm becoming quite fond of! smile Thanks.
Very nicely done Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear lady.
Very cute and nice subdued colours.
Ginnie Hart: They stole my heart, Nig! smile Thanks.

This picture is priceless, this scene could be anywhere in this Univers, Australia, Atlantic City, even on Texel we could find these two friends for life, I love the colours and the candid. They are totally unawhere of their rurroundings and they don't give a hoot who sees them... Have a great day.
Ginnie Hart: I was very nearby them, Astrid, and you're right...they didn't give a hoot that I was there with my camera. This could be you and me in our Child Personas, there on your Texel beach. And if so, I know which one you are! smile These girls just totally stole mijn hart en ziel!

What a lovely picture of two friends who are probably, at the moment, very special to each other. Let's all hope this friendship stays when they are grown up.
Ginnie Hart: Wouldn't that be splendid, Brian. Kinda like an eternalized moment! Thanks.

Very nice shot Ginnie. I like the expressions you have captured, specially the apprehension in the face of the one on the right
Ginnie Hart: I had a feeling the older girl was trying to convince the younger to run down to the ocean with her. It was a priceless moment for me. Thanks, Navin.

nice sentimental pic

well processed

love the subdued colour

if i were to nitpick i'd say the background was about to swallow them
Ginnie Hart: Always feel free to nitpik, DrAW. I always appreciate your comments. Thanks.
Ginnie, this shot is perfect, how adorable and innocent. If only adults got along so well. You captured a beautiful moment.
Ginnie Hart: You were the first to use that word, John: innocent. I think you have nailed it on the head! Thank you, as always.

Excellent with the conversion. Is it only desaturation or did you have other tricks as well.

I'll put it in my likeys in the meantime.
Ginnie Hart: Well, you're kinda right, Louis, and kinda wrong. smile When I use the Multiply layer in PS and then convert to B&W/sepia, there are two backgrounds to chose. One lets no color through but the other does, with just a hint. I have started using that one a lot because it gives more of an ageless feel to it. But I do think you could achieve the same look just by desaturation. Thanks.

Good to see that there are still kids who have a childhood. I came across too many who were grown up well beyond their years when I was teaching.
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Ron. I was never a child growing up...not much of one, at any rate. But now in my sunset years, I'm learning to be one! I became these girls the minute I saw them! Thanks.

Hi, I grew up near Port Stephens and spent a lot of my younger years around the area. Now I am over 1200 kms from there. This pic brought back some lovely childhood memories of my sisters playing - thanks.
Ginnie Hart: Awwww. Then this is for your sisters, Brian! Here's to happy memories.
Great tones. Nice work with the saturation!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Thomas. It's good to see you again! smile
