Happy Birthday

Only once in my life have I attended a church service at midnight on Christmas Eve in order to sing Happy Birthday to little baby Jesus at the beginning of Christmas Day.
So as this page opens at 00:01 on Shutterchance today, I say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!

This church is the St. Nicolaaskerk that stands catty-corner across the street from Centraal Station in Amsterdam.

[Today we're in Atlanta celebrating Christmas with Donica's family.  But we'll be flying to Michigan from December 27 - 31 for my family reunion.  Happy holidays to all, in whatever way you celebrate this time of the year.  See you again on January 1st.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!]

Een gezellig Kerstfeest voor jou en Donica, this is a very stunning picture of one of my favorite chuches in Amsterdam, comming out of Central Station it cannot been missed, majestic and proud, with this picture I know a part of your heart is here too and isn't that the spirit of Christmas, open your heart to the world and dear friends, I am glad we could meet and share some good times together and great laughters, a day without laughter is a day not been a live, Merry Christmas to you and Donica! and 'see you' next year wink tonguetonguetongue ( have some fun in Michigan and hope you have lots of snow tongue )
Ginnie Hart: A thousand gazillion YESes to your Christmas sentiment, mijn vriend! Hopping back and forth between Atlanta and AMS today and this holiday season is just par for the course, of course. smile May your own celebration today be even better than you could imagine. And yes, I hope we get LOTS of snow as well!

I have seen St. Nicolaaskerk , too, sorry, with a cursory glance, coming out of Centraal Station AMS. Your wonderful warm-coloured pic now has transformed this church "tot Zijn (Gods) eer en heerlijkheid", a really dignified Christmas-pic (combined with your friendly greeting) to celebrate this feast! (It is interesting to compare the different Christmas-pics in the various photoblogs.)

Happy holidays to You , Donica and your families! I' m glad to see you again in the New Year -in your pics and -so I hope- in reality!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Philine, you are so right about the different Christmas greetings as seen here on SC. When you put them all together, it pretty much covers all the bases. I guess my part is to remember the reason for the season. After all, I grew up in a preacher's home! smile

May you have the happiest of Christmas days this year, Philine, and maybe soon I'll be meeting you!

It looks like a big birthday cake, Ginnie but, if he were alive today, I doubt Jesus would still be a baby...there is at least circumstantial evidence that he had grown a beard by the time he was 33. [grin]
Ginnie Hart: Ah, yes. But at Christmas he's always a baby! How interesting, right?! Thanks, Ray.

I wonder what is going on with Shutterchance. I view the buddies link and the update status is the same as monday. Ithought everybody must be fighting an enormous hangover, maybe Shutterchance is tongue
Ginnie Hart: It was well worth the one time I went, Louis. Very touching indeed...full of anticipation as the clock struck midnight! smile Now, Happy New Year.
