Christmas Eve

I'm not there right now but this view of the Westerkerk church on the Prinsengracht canal near our apartment in Amsterdam
is in my mind's eye today as I think of Christmas Eve.

[Today I'm in Atlanta.]

Gorgeous shot, Ginnie! What a pretty sight to think of on Chirtmas Eve. May you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you ever so much, Kay! The same to you and Gary!
Aaaqh Amsterdam, I am not too happy wit Amsterdam today as my sister and her family missed their connection from London to Paramaribo and is now obliged to spend Christmas in Amsterdam, instead of by our side. But, I have to admit that this is a beautiful view from prinsengracht and the Westerkerk.

May you and yours have a wonderful Christmas together Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: So so sorry, Patrick! Arrgh! Hopefully something good will come out of this!

Thank you for your kind wishes. The same to you, I pray!
That is a beautiful shot. Such a nice composition and the colour is gorgeous.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you for your kind words, Michael!

Sprakeloos, zoveel mooie herinneringen op DIE brug, Ginnie once I was able to see this in real and I remember that my friend and I were stopping and we just looked at this 'almost in Heaven' view, this is the most beautyful night shot I have ever seen, not only of the thought behind it but for the picture it self, so sharp and so may star-lights, this is some Amsterdam promotion LOVE LOVE it, thanks for sharing, een heel gezellige Kerstavond.......tongue
Ginnie Hart: To make you sprakeloos must be very easy, mijn vriend! You have just made ME sprakeloos with your comment, so I guess we're even. smile Dank je wel, and have yourself a merry little Christmas!

A beautiful photo- with all the lights, the reflections and my beloved Westerkerk! It seems to be a silent foto, although taken in a busy city, and these silent moments belong for me to Christmas! Ik wens jou en de jouwen een sfeervol en gezegend kerstfeest! And I thank you for all the gorgeous, inspiring..... photos this year and your comments, always heartfelt and warm, often funny, sometimes ironical, ful of humane feeling and thoughts, I love that, and I would like to say: Ga door!, and I would like to see you next year, perhaps on 26th January in Amsterdam?
Ginnie Hart: You always have a way with your words, dear Philine, and I would be VERY HONORED to meet you in AMS on January 26th. We will be there then! So let's stay in touch and figure it out! What a wonderful way to start the New Year! Dank je wel.
Very very nice Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Scarlet. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Excellent ma'am. The streetlighting as refelcted in the canal has a yellow shine and then the tower rises in all its colourful glory above that.
Ginnie Hart: As you know, Louis, the canal lights are so very yellow everywhere in Amsterdam. They have their own charm. Thank you kindly...and welcome back. smile
Magnificent night shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: You're so kind, Richard. Thank you.
