The SC Girls

Okay, so I'm learning something new every day about collages and thank you for graciously hanging in there with me.

Of the 19 of us at last Saturday's SC meet-up, five of us were/are The SC Girls.  Johhny's wife, Marion, Marcello's wife, Erminia, plus Jide's friend, Zsofia, were also there.  But here are the Shutterchancers, from left to right:

Sinem (Suby & Sins House)
Susan (darkred)--NEW from Hungary **
Ginnie (Hart & Soul) with Sinem
Moi Moi (illustrations)
Ade (cremechic26)

If you don't yet know them, please click on their names and go say HI.

**  Please say a prayer for Susan as she looks for an architectural job in London this month.

[Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

You've got a taste for collages, it's very well done sis, who took the shot of you and Sinem ?
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, sir/bro. Mr. Suby himself took the pic of Sinem and me when it was only we three there in the morning before everyone else arrived.
Ok so what day do I appear....lol!

Nice collage, you are really getting the hang of this, be alittle bit more careful with the distance b/w the pics though... try and get them uniform, if you look carefully...the distances are different smile
Ginnie Hart: Believe it or not, Skee, I did that on purpose. sad There's more space around the middle figure (of Sinem and me) because of how it lined up on the grid. How's that for an excuse! Next time I'll enlarge it and see if I can manipulate it better. Still learning adn appreciate the feedback.

I was GOING to put up you guys today and then changed it at the last minute. TOMORROW, I promise. I'll see if I can get you aligned right. grin

I am repeating myself, but this looks like a fun crew.
Ginnie Hart: It was totally fun, Martin. And Sinem really balances out that Suby guy! grin
Wow! The Girls! I imagine a great success in this encounter! smile
Ginnie Hart: It was just fabulous, Jose. Maybe next year you can be there with us. smile
Nicely done, Ginnie. And I like the typography of the collage title. It's got just the right attitude.
Ginnie Hart: Aww. That was a kind thing to say, Red Pen. I did a lot of looking to find what made sense to me. Thanks.

Great pictures, very good-looking subjects, and wonderful presentation, Ginnie.

P.S. Ignore Mr Skee...I don't think he has your great eye, and so missed the fact that you deliberately set this up with different gaps; the symmetry is great.

P.P.S. You are a very strong lady if you held the camera and its "L" lens at arms length to take the middle shot.
Ginnie Hart: You are such a sweetheart, Ray. No wonder I like you. smile

And you can thank Suby for the middle pic. My arm is definitely not that strong. smile

Hi I am up a moment for a few minutes just for a cuppa tea, see your blog and look: "hey! thats you!" Ginnie see you thursday. smile JoAnn (goto sleep; goodnight)
Ginnie Hart: Yes, JoAnn. TOMORROW. I so look forward to meeting YOU. smile
I'm with Ray! The symmetry works for me. The middle shot is wider so I think you did right to balance it visually with more white space (although I understand where Mista Skee is coming from).

Another great collage, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Well, it was funny, Karen, because I did do it that way on purpose but only because I couldn't manipulate the grid well. Later I realized I should have zoomed the pic. smile Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for your encouragement.
Nice portraits! You had a good time!
Ginnie Hart: Yes we did, Wim. Thanks.
Now there's a collection of lovely ladies!

Or should we use a collective noun? I suggest a Clique of Photographers
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Chris. We were a nice Clique together. smile Thanks.
Mmh Ade looks tasty in this. You and Sinem look like Mum and daughter. Susan looks serious but preety. Moira mmh. The one i love the most is Jazz and Sinem. That cat seems to have grown on me. Lovely Ginnie. Superb
Ginnie Hart: Tasty Ade! Hmm. A bit tantalizing, I'd say. And all the others were/are just wonderful, for sure. Thanks, Busola. Charming as always! smile
I wonder what is up tommorrow.
Ginnie Hart: HA! All the other guys! grin

Ginnie Hart: You are so absolutely right-on, Philine. Thanks for that thought.
Excellent !!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!

You have taken to collages like a duck to water. That from yesterday was just false modesty. Come the day that Ginnie will not thoroughly study something new that she is tackling. smile

Another great collage - does the cat have a name?

Don't worry about the distance thing - uniformity can be boring. There will be other things to look at as well - like frontal view, over the left or right shoulder - and how do you arrange them. Putting some pattern in that can help the overall presentation.

Maybe you can read up on layout design - if you haven't done so already. I am NOT saying anything is wrong with this one. Just saying that arrangement on the workspace can be important.
Ginnie Hart: HA! You crack me up, Louis. Yes, I think the cat's name is Jazz, but don't know for sure. Sinem is the cat lover; Suby isn't. smile

All the frontal, left and right views--OMG! If I had only known I'd be spending this much time on collages, I would have made sure everyone posed exactly as I created it in my head. smile Wait till you see tomorrow's. It'll really drive you batty.
So Ginnie ! Good, very good.
Ginnie Hart: In the end, Flo, I found out I could work with PS and manipulate my pics a bit more than I realized. Thanks for all your help, however. I still like YOUR idea. smile

Thanks for your support!
that works for me!!

nice
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Anachromie.

How nice to see all the girls in one picture smile
Very nice presentation Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Magnus. Wait till you see the guys tomorrow. smile
I look so tired.... JESUS!
The collage looks awesome.... if you redcross me *grins*

If I'm not mistaken you took the picture after we talked, right? That's why the serious look, lol.

Anyway I had my first job interview today. It went well although they will check with other 2 candidates. I really want this. I know I would be good for the role. Oh well, tomorrow everything's gonna turn out.
*hugs*
Ginnie Hart: Bless you, Susan. I had my deepest, most thoughtful conversations with you. Very soulful. But in the end, I took the fewest photos of you. I think I was too busy taking pics of you with my heart and soul.

To have had your first interview this soon after your arrival tells me you're doing something right, Susan! Keep it up!
This looks great and so good to put faces to you all. Thanks Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Gale. It's always good to put faces with names!

Now I need YOURS! smile

Gorgeous smiles, and yes I think that's a smile on Susan's face. Very, very sweet.

I think your handwritten "The Girls" immediately lends the collage a relaxed feel, hence the variable space lengths between images. I totally agree that as good as this is, knowing you, you will continue to perfect this technique and put every collage to shame.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, you sweetie! Thank you, Ruth. Don't you love that font (Annie BTN)!

I had my deepest conversations with Susan. She immediately became my daughter! In fact, at one point I told her she reminded me of Lesley (your daughter--for others who might read this) because of how talented she is. I told her I took the fewest pics of her, I think, because I was taking pics with my heart and soul. I really do wish the best for her as she searches for a job in London.

Little by little I am figuring out collages. I have some bordering issues that I clearly need to work out on PS, but I'm definitely ahead of where I was on Monday. And btw, thanks again for being there for me then!

Ginnie Hart: HA! You are so wonderful, Tracy. Thanks! smile
Superbly done. I would think everyone in the picture wants a copy.
Ginnie Hart: You're so kind to say so, Bill. Thanks!
To me it looks fine and again....I would love to join a meeting like this smile
Ginnie Hart: Maybe next year, Aksel. Thanks.

Another stunning montage Ginnie. You've been making these for ages haven't you? I particularly like the shot of Moi Moi.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Steve, I think Suby took that pic with my camera. I don't remember taking it so he must have! But thanks anyway.

I need to find out how you made the background black on your collage because I like that much better than white!!!

Fantastic portraits of the lovely girls present at the barbecue! Good luck to Susan. I hope she will get exactly what she is looking for!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marcello. It all was so fun and still keenly in my mind's eye. I trust for the best with Susan as well!
Nice to meet you, Ginnie and the other girls. Lovely montage. All the best, Dave.
