Suby & Sinem

First of all, pronunciations are in order:  SHOO-bee and SIN-em.  Host and hostess for Shutterchance's first meet-up ever this past Saturday, September 8, in Milton Keyes, outside of London, UK.

There were 19 of us altogether, 15 who are presently SCers:  one started on Friday--Marcello/mdc--and another started yesterday--Susan/darkred.  The rest of us are old-timers:  Suby, Sinem, Busola, Skee, Duane, John Claeys, Hamilton, Moi Moi, Ade, Steve, Johhny G, Shakara and me.

The rest of this week I'll post more faces to match the names.  But today we have to start with Suby & Sinem.

THANK YOU, S&S!

too bad I cldn't be there... Looks like you guys had good fun!
Ginnie Hart: Next year we'll plan much farther in advance. Suby says we'll have a date 6 months ahead of time! Then maybe we can see tons more of us. smile

Thanks, Bisola.
Lovely one Ginnie. I forgot it was your blog so i had to re wite my comment. yesterday was the best today will be better but tommorrow just fab. I can still feel your hug. Love yah
Ginnie Hart: You charmed me to death, Busola, just like I expected. No, that's not right. MORE than I expected! grin

I have a feeling we'll be hearing lots of good things from you this coming year. smile
eeeeeck, Sexy lovely looking Sinem & who is that bloke besides her? No it's my ugly mug smile

Ginnie it was a pleasure having you around, hope you poor ear drums have recovered from the "healthy" debate of the evening LOL.

It really was a pleasure having you around, maybe next time we will get to see & meet Donika (ps when we going to see a picture of her by the way?)

Got your lovely card, you so sweet smile
Ginnie Hart: It was just an amazing time, Suby (and Sinem) on so many levels. It really emphasizes how important it is to meet people in real life (not just virtually!). I think we all learned to respect and appreciate each other more this weekend, and maybe in that regard it was good it was a smaller group. It made it easy to get a few minutes with everyone.

And now I will know how to "read" you better whenever/wherever I see your comments around SC. My ears are very alive and well...and are still assimilating everything they heard. smile

Have a fantastic week while you recover from all of us. The two of you were better than perfect hosts! Thank you.

Great shot, Ginnie! I love this picture of our friends so much! It's a likey!

Welcome to the new SC'ers as well.

I look forward to seeing more pictures of our friends on SC!!!
Ginnie Hart: I have dedicated this week to the meet-up, Kay, so you'll see many more pics! smile

Thanks for your kind support. You were there in spirit.
Looks like you guys had a good time out there!
Ginnie Hart: We did, Martin. I think having a relatively small group made it easier for us to get to know each other. It was a lovely time!
You are one of the loveliest persons I've met yesterday! Please never change!

*hugs*
Ginnie Hart: I think I adopted you as my daughter on the spot, Susan! You are definitely in my Hart, so you know I will follow you carefully. The Universe is reaching out to you and will bring you what you and It intend for you. I was/am so inspired by you and know that you will go very far in your life. I wish you only the best!
This is such a great idea, Ginnie. I wanted to be European this week just to meet you alll.
Ginnie Hart: Well, you were there in spirit, Mary, and I will do my best to bring you the faces of SC this week so you can feel you WERE there in real life. Thanks for your support.

Wonderful portrait, Ginnie.
The big bear does not look grouchy at all. [grin]
Ginnie Hart: That big bear, Ray, is really a pussy cat on the inside. I learned a lot about him and his gorgeous, lovely wife. Suby wants and expects everyone to be photographically perfect. I told him we all are at different places on the A - Z spectrum, and that while he is much further ahead of many of us, he needs to believe that in our own time/way, we will grow...if we are able. He can push us if he wants but it probably isn't always necessary! grin HA! We all grow during these "real" times. smile

See that's what happens when ever I have to leave a party early, i miss the debates, I miss new people who show up late and I don't get pictures like this. smile Gin can you send me a copy of this please, I only took 2 shots so I'm sadly lacking with images from the day ! Oh and by the way .... your now on my very short list of sisters .

J
Ginnie Hart: The "debate" happened after everyone left, Johhny, with those of us who were spending the night (4 of us plus S&S). It was quite a cultural experience for me. smile

And yes, I'll send you a copy of this. smile

As I told you on your site, I am very proud to stand beside you as the elder stateswoman/man of SC. I guess that DOES make me your sister! I like that. smile

wow. that is such a wonderful photo Ginnie. i really like Suby and Sinem and you as well. so this photo is great. I am so happy you got to meet up with everyone. ~S.
Ginnie Hart: It was really a fabulous time, Sara. I've always felt that it does us good to meet people in real life, not just virtually. A real learning experience. Throughout the rest of the week, I'll keep introducing you to more people!
Oh I was hoping you were going to post photos from the meet-up! Being so far away of course I couldn't go... Looking forward to more great photos of this event from you, Ginnie. smile
Ginnie Hart: This weekend is dedicated to the meet-up, Karen, so you will definitely get your wish. Thanks for your kind support!
I just knew, you would be put this up. I am sure you guys had fun.
Ginnie Hart: Lots of fun, Dotun. And you'll see more the rest of this week. smile

Great photo.. sounds like so much fun.Do you have a group shot?
Ginnie Hart: Believe it or not, Gale, no one did a group shot. In fact, I have a feeling no one ever even thought of it! That is so weird, isn't it! Next year?!

I love seeing them there, how fun.

But I can't believe you didn't find a brick wall above the Thames to sit on with beer and cigarettes in hand for a group photo, everyone looking a bit forlorn, eyes cast into the river!!!
Ginnie Hart: Oh Ruth. How funny that you remembered that! I'm afraid we were never close enough to London for me to even "feel" that I was any closer there than in Amsterdam. But isn't it strange that no one thought of a group photo? Maybe it's because different people came and left at different times.

Thanks, Sweetie.

Ace portrait Ginnie. What a together, in love couple!
Wished I could have been there not not possible this time, hopefully next but this has made me feel almost there!
Ginnie Hart: You understand Suby better when you meet him in the context of Sinem, Jose Ann. It was a real joy to be around them both.

I hope all the photos this week will help you feel that you were there! Thanks.
That's a great idea Ginnie and I'm very pleased to meet them all !!! Very friendly attitude in this portrait. Well done !
Ginnie Hart: It was a great time, Flo. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week's photos. smile

Ginnie you have captured their happiness very well they seem to be a fun loving couple. I can only imagine the laughter and fun you all had. May be next time I will be able to make it. See the kiss went with you as I thought it would!!smile
Ginnie Hart: Yes, the Kiss went with me, Tracy! In fact, Suby was very helpful with his pointers. I was shooting on Aperture Priority the entire day, thanks to him. So I feel like I'm moving up in the world when it comes to understanding my camera. smile

Next year maybe we'll see YOU there. It should be biger and better, for sure.
Wow... wish i was there... it would have been a honour to meet u all !
Ginnie Hart: You would have had a blast, Ferdi. Maybe next year. Suby says we'll start planning earlier! smile

Interesting Ginnie,

To meet the people behind 'shutterchange'-websites,

So you met Moi, John? ....the others names I don't really 'know' except for you tahn, I mean I met no-one by person ... just by blog.
And? Was it worth the journey?

Just wondering.... smile JoAnn
Ginnie Hart: Very interesting indeed, JoAnn. The Moi Moi I met is NOT the Moi that visits us regularly. Her other name is Naomi, in case we get confused. And yes, it was definitely worth the trip. There's nothing like meeting people in person, as far as I'm concerned! Soon it will be YOU. Do we need to wait till we come back in October? Just let me know. Thanks.
brautiful in sepia
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Chantal. I've decided I don't do B&W very well, so I kinda always resort to some shade of sepia.
awwww...such an incredible pair smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Deji, for stopping by and commenting! I was thrilled to meet Suby & Sinem in person and to see how they balance each other out. smile

Looks like a fab meet up smile
Ginnie Hart: It was great, Chris. Maybe next year we'll see YOU! smile
Glad you had a good time, and also found time to take some really good pictures ... I assume the rest will be as good as this!
Ginnie Hart: I sure hope the rest will be as good as this, Bill, as well as a bit mixed up in presentation. However, I just learned how to do a collage today, so I still have a long way to go in creating what I see in my mind. Thanks for your comment.

Come-on, out with the low-down. Have you asked him about 'interesting'?

It is great to read that you all have enjoyed it.
Ginnie Hart: Well, let's just say that ol' Suby and I had a good talk about comments, Louis! smile It was a great time to get to know each other better and to see where we're all coming from. Sinem is a perfect balance for Suby. I was quite impressed with them both, I must say.
awwwww...
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Sam. smile

Great photo Ginnie and they are obviously devoted to one another, a perfect couple!!. I can tell you all had a great time - maybe next time I'll be able to make it too. David.
Ginnie Hart: Next year we plan to start planning earlier and get a bigger bunch together. But for this first time, I think the smaller group was perfect. It'll be great to see YOU, David. I hope it works out. Thanks.
Well look at that! What a happy smiling couple! So pleased you enjoyed yourself. (:o)
