Down but Not Out

This has been sitting in my unassigned archives since forever, and because Roger had wished to see more of the bike in my post from the other day, I thought I'd oblige.

Sure hope your weekend is going better than this.

Today is my 300th post!   :)

[Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

very nice conversion, nicely composed, love the use of light here. basically i really like this
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Asiko. Thanks.
Congratulations! Hope to see many more!
Ginnie Hart: You wouldn't believe how many bike pics sit in my Unassigned folder! You'd be sick of them if I showed them all. But maybe I'll sprinkle them in here-n-there. smile Thanks, Frank.
Congratulations, Ginnie, on 300 posts. Hope to see 300 more from your cross continent journeys.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Mary. It still strikes me funny how we count our posts by the 100s here on SC instead of by the years (as we do on my other blog). But when in Rome.... smile
Congratulations on 300
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Aussie. smile
Congrats on 300! Good looking bike wreck too smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Martin. smile

300! Well done, Ginnie.

I like this pic of what appears to be a very old-fashioned bike.

I am a little surprised to see it has a electric dynamo on the front wheel...I thought those things had been totally replaced by AA technology years ago.

Old stuff! Still functional! Somehow, I feel a sense of companionship with this old bike!
Ginnie Hart: As you'd imagine, Ray, we see every kind of technology imaginable with the bikes here in A'dam. And every color, I might add. I think it would be fun to match people with bikes as we match people with dogs! smile Thanks.
Nice one Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Chris.

Ginnie - As always - a really imaginative photo. Congratulations - 300 - and I've loved EVERY ONE of them. Think about it - you're just getting going. Keep up the great work!
Ginnie Hart: Judy from Southern California! I always love seeing your name here on SC. I think you're my greatest fan. smile
After China the Netherlands must be the bicycle capital of the world! Nice capture again.
Congrats on your 300 posts. I still am not done looking at all of them. And till now all of them are great! Keep m comin....
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Fausto, I think you're right (I've only been to Taiwan but I'm sure it's similar to China!). Thanks for your congratulations and comment. smile
Lovely tones! I love this shot smile ... you can see that the right handlebar is missing a grip. I wonder if it was nickedwink
Ginnie Hart: One just never knows, Bisola. I'm guessing anything can happen here in Amsterdam! Thanks. smile
Well done on your 300th anniversary! Love this shot - the light is great and the composition spot on. Another ordinary sight transformed by your vision.
Ingrid
Ginnie Hart: You're so kind, Ingrid. Thanks!
Many congratulations on no. 300 Ginnie.

Like the tone of this shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Bernie!

Sweet bit of processing, Ginn. Lovely sepia tones, actually it has more of a silver gelatin look to it. Poor bicycle....
Ginnie Hart: It was blown sunlight, Andrew. It was a nightmare to make it presentable. But thanks anyway! smile
Great texture and effect here with your sepia tone which well suits your subject Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Flo. smile
HAPPY 300TH to Grannnnyy.....hurrraaayyy :d
Excellent Toning!wink
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for the congratulations, Sweetie. smile

Ginnie Hart: Awww. You're just saying that 'cuz it's true, Petra. (HA! I had a friend who said that every time someone complimented her.) You really honor me. Thank you. And I see that you and I are basically tracking each other when it comes to numbers. smile Yes, up to 400. Bring them on!

congratulations on 300. This picture does make me laugh since I work in Amsterdam and this could be my bike.
Beautiful coloring. How did you do that (I'm a novice when it comes to photography so I'm grateful for any advice).
Ginnie Hart: So you're from Holland, Scarlet, and you work in Amsterdam! Maybe that means we can meet up some day. It's so fun when bloggers can meet, as far as I'm concerned. Welcome to SC. I think you're find a very nice community here. I was such a novice with my camera when I started here last October but have grown by leaps and bounds in observing what others do.

In this pic, I have done photo manipulation through PhotoShop. I'll write you more in an e-mail. In the meantime, thank you very much for stopping by and commenting.
Well done Ginnie - 300 shots, I wonder how it feels to look back over them and assess the changes made in style, quality and subject?

As to your 300th pic another well lit shot that has plenty to say. Fantastic. Mike
Ginnie Hart: To be sure, Mike, I feel I have grown by leaps and bounds here on SC simply by observing! I have so much more to learn, but that's part of the program, as they say. Thanks to YOU for your kindest support along the way!

Happy 300th, my friend! Really hope to see your great shots every day, until my last day of life!
Ginnie Hart: Oh my, Saed. You are so honoring and, of course, flattery will get you everywhere! smile But surely you will outlive me and by then you won't remember me. However, I do like the thought. You're a sweetheart. smile
Congrats on 300 Ginnie smile
Great toning in this one.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Sir!
Oh! Ginnie, I return backwards to congratulate you by these 300 pics! Fantastic pics. Thanks to share them with us! I wait for all the following ones. As my Jewish friends say, improved 1000 more!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Let's hope there are 1000 more, Jose. But that sure is a lot. grin Thanks.

Congratulations!!! The perspective and composition on this one are so very nice. Excellent job. Love the lighting too.
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Ruth. Always so encouraging. Thanks.
300 that's impressive - congratulation grin

I like the part of not including the whole bike in this pic....nice light as well...those bricks adds depth too
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for your comment, Aksel. It means a lot. smile
Hi Ginnie! Congratulations for your 300th post! It's a good one, I like the way you treated the light... Regards, Laurence
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Laurence!
Congratulations on your 300th shot. They just keep getting better!! All the best, Dave.
Ginnie Hart: You're so kind, Dave. Thank you!
It only seems like last week when you celebrated your 200th, where does the time go?

Mal has already said it but I feel the same so I'm saying it too - Shutter is a better place with you in it. I've learned so much visiting your blog and your comment today about Edgar Allan Poe gave me pause for thought and a whole new avenue of imagery to explore so you are an inspiration too!

Congratulations on 300!
Ginnie Hart: It's always an honor to inspire anyone, Jose Ann, so your words mean very much to me. SC has been very good to me and you are very much part of that for me. I'm very humbled. Thank you kindly!

Ginnie, ditto Jose's comment about Shutter being a better place with you in it. I so agree. You make the web site a special community...I'd say you are the Shutterchance ambassador of kindness!

All my best congratulations and wishes to you,
Kay
Ginnie Hart: I cannot imagine a higher honor, Kay. You've made my day. I pray I can keep up with that moniker for you and everyone else. Thank you, my dear lady!
I like this shot very much !
Great angle, tone, contrast etc.
It is like, there is a story to be told
Ginnie Hart: Yes, I'm quite sure there is a story here, Gustav. Thank you kindly for stopping by again!
The way you accomodated the lights was just superb. The idea is just swell. I got a few bike shots. Me thinks i should churn them out. Love it Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Absolutely, Busola. Churn out your bike pics!! smile
