Church of Our Lady

This is a series of pics from my birthday weekend in June from Bruges, Belgium.

Yup, I'm back to my Bruges series and will finish it before I tell you about Farm Day in Michigan this past weekend.  (Gives me time to work on my pics, duh!)

Another famous church in the city is this Church of Our Lady with a tower 400 feet (122 m) high.
The city is particularly proud of Michaelangelo's Madonna and Child inside.
As you can tell, this was taken during that magical hour when the sun was setting.

[Today I'm in Atlanta.]

Makes you think holy thoughts!
Ginnie Hart: I hadn't thought of that, Mary, but I think you're right. smile
It really does make one think Holy thoughts grin
Ginnie Hart: Something I guess we can all have a bit more of, right, Suby. smile Thanks, as always, for stopping by and commenting.
such beautiful light, holy thoughts indeed smile
Ginnie Hart: I guess there really is a connection between 'light' and 'holy', Patrick. I hadn't thought of it with this pic but I like it.

Ginnie Hart: You're always so supportive, Kay. Thank you so much.

It was a fabulous weekend but way too short! I can't believe we're back. And now I need to sort through my pics! smile

I want to go the Bruges.
Your series is a great ad for this city, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: So glad my pics are tempting you to go, Ray. You will not be disappointed!!
It seems a light of the dusk. I like the tone that gives the light!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Jose.
Fantastic light and a dramatic sky!

You need to run over to weeklyshot.org if you haven't' already. Theme is church.
Ginnie Hart: Hmm. I'll have to check that out, Roger. Thanks for the tip.
lovely as usual Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for your support, Dotun, as always.
Hi Ginnie, I've been missing much of your great posts. This is another great one. What magnificent structure that is nicely captured! The use of the trees for "framing" in the foreground is spot on!

p.s. sorry for my hiatus...work has been a tad bit crazy but hope to be p-blogging regularly again soon! B-)
Ginnie Hart: Welcome back, H. We all have those busy times, so we understand!

As always, I appreciate your support through comments.
tu as choisis un angle merveilleux pour une photo grandiose

Love that flash of gold against the dark sky - the colours are a match made in heaven!

I love the architecture in Bruges, I spent a week there a few years ago and had a great time. Super shot Ginnie. all the best. mal
Ginnie Hart: You know what this city is all about then, Mal! So glad. The pics hardly do it justice. Thanks, as always, for your support. smile
Very nice light on this one! The brick(?) spire is something else. I wonder if they used brick because they had a shortage of rock to quarry.
Ginnie Hart: Good question, Martin. Now you've got me wondering as well. The other church from last week was also full of bricks, not stone, so you may be onto something. Thanks for your comment, as always.
This is fabulous! The yellow building makes it for me - so unexpected. (:o)
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Roz!
Another lovely shot Ginnie. Love the way the sun is hitting the building on the right. David.
Ginnie Hart: That was what made this pic for me, too, David. Both of the buildings together. Thanks.
Great lighting on this one Ginnie. The church is beautiful. Well done, as always!
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, DD. Thanks.
Great sun lights here again Ginnie !
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, as always, Flo.

Magical photographic hour. Excellent result. It seems to me the belgians are timeless people. Also not so vane.

Your reference to Farm Day made me realise I am missing Ellie. You think it is normal to have such a long holiday?
Ginnie Hart: I have been thinking about Ellie a lot lately, Louis, and wonder if she's back home and trying to get her computer fixed. I'd hate to come back home to that! Maybe I'll write her and find out.

Anyway, maybe you're right about the Belgians! I sure felt timeless in that city!
Pure magic. Love it
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Busola.

Hope you had a great weekend Ginnie? Lovely photo of a lovely city!
Petra
Ginnie Hart: We had a GREAT weekend, Petra. Thanks.
Hi Ginnie. Another good use of light - love the gold against the grey/blue. Twilight is indeed a magical time to take photographs. Mike
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Mike. Thanks for your support!
Yes you can tell it is the magical hour, giving the buildings a nice glow. Well seen.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Les.
