photoblog image The Main Attraction

The Main Attraction

This is a series of pics from when we were at the family cottage in Michigan over the Fourth of July.

The lake, of course, is the main attraction during the summer reunion.
Everyone below the generation of us 8 kids we call The Cousins and here are 2 generations of them!  Peter on the right is my sister Ruth's son, with his girlfriend.  Nicholas, peeking out on the left, is my daughter's son.  He just turned 7.  As you'll see tomorrow, he worships the ground Peter walks on.
This is what family is all about!

I still like the light in these shots. Don't tell me that they are smiling this much early in the morning.
Ginnie Hart: HA! NO, NO, Martin. This is at sunset time after a full day of fun and games. The adults may be starting to nod off but the younguns still have plenty of steam. smile
Awww this is so cute....I like the reflections in the water....Nice Happy Shot...:d
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, you sweetie!
Looks like a lot of fun. Beautiful, shimmering water.
Ginnie Hart: I love that time of the day, when the sun starts to set. It sends a radiant, shimmering glow over the lake. Thanks, Red Pen.

Just reminds me I need a holiday sad

Suby
Ginnie Hart: I hope you get to have one soon, Suby. That's the problem when you work for yourself. It's hard to "get away" to give yourself a break. Just do it!

Aw, what a nice looking family, Ginnie! Nicholas is so very cute! Where does Peter's height come from...maternal or paternal side?

Re: the photograph, this is postcard perfect! It could even be a great snapshot promoting family sports. wink
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Kay. Thanks for your support.

Peter's height may come from both sides of the family, actually. Hmmm. I'll have to ask Ruth what she thinks!

And yes, about Nicholas. He wraps himself around my heart in this pic!
Great evening light. And I hope Peter and his girlfriend got a copy of this shot. It's a very nice photo.
Ginnie Hart: Awww. Thanks for the thought about Peter and his girlfriend maybe wanting a print. Never once thought of that! Thank you kindly, Karen.
Awww, that's a very sweet photo Ginnie. Nice light and reflections.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Bridge! smile
My first thought was 'awww' too but then bridge got there before me, i was most disapointed when i scrolled down! wink

This is a lovely shot, it's always nice getting photos with the sun at that angle and it's just a happy memories photo to brighten things up even more smile
Ginnie Hart: It definitely is a "happy memories" photo for me, SL, especially since it's family I love. But as I told Louis, I wanted it to have a universal appeal.
It was all fun and games for you I see . Nice one
Ginnie Hart: I never go out on the lake this time, Shakara, not even once. But I sure enjoyed looking at the fun and games. smile Thanks.
Lovely shot Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Fehinti.
Hi Ginnie...what lovely family you've got! This is an amazing capture of the day in the lake! Very natural expressions! Cheers!
Ginnie Hart: A day on the lake, indeed! For the kids especially, that's what it's all about! Thanks, H.

Great capture with the textured refelction up front.
Ginnie Hart: Ruth's gonna love you for that one, Louis! grin (Peter, BTW, is 24.)

Thanks, as always.

Yes, I do love Louis for that.

And as for Peter's height (6'1"), our dad was 6'2", Don is 6', and his dad is 6'2". Would you believe Don's grandpa was 6'4"? Not the way it usually goes, usually get taller over the generations.

I agree with you about Nicholas wrapping around your heart, and mine, in this one. It gratifies me to no end to see Peter take after his dad in the "child magnet" category. I don't think there's any better indication of character.

Love the photo!
Ginnie Hart: HA! I knew you would like Louis for that. Had no idea Don's g'pa was 6'4". WOW. That is very tall for that generation, you're right!

You have so much to be proud of in your 2 men folk there! Yes, child magnet" is a perfect term for both of them.

Thanks!
