Welcome Committee

First of all, I took this pic at 12:30 yesterday when I arrived from Atlanta on our Amsterdam street...at the absolute worse time to take a pic on a gloriously sunny day!  The "blown" time of the day!

BUT...I took this for Ellie, who has been preparing me for the foul weather in Europe of late.  (It rained all last week in Amsterdam when Donica was here, so I know.)

As I walked towards my apartment, rolling my suitcase behind me, this is what I saw...just 4 store-fronts from my door.  I stopped dead in my tracks, took off my backpack and grabbed my camera.

WELCOME TO AMSTERDAM, Ginnie!

[Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Great title...beautiful shot, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bridge.
Lol, that's awsome Ginnie and Ellie will love it. It's almost like he's saying, " ok take your time, get that thing off your back and take my picture". smile
Ginnie Hart: He kinda reminds me of Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh! grin

Thanks, Johnny.

Ginnie, Ginnie, Ginnie ... What a sad, hang-dog expression. How could this creature possibly look so sad and forlorn in the midst of that blaze of glorious colour! An absolutely smashing shot.
Ginnie Hart: I think he's a dog's version of Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh! I love it. I wanted to go up and hug him. smile
aaaw, this is such a cute dog!!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Fehinti, for stopping by and commenting. smile
Wow. I hope he's cheered up now that you've arrived. These dogs always have such a sad look. smile
Ginnie Hart: I wonder if they know they look so down in the dumps, Red Pen! Just like Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh. You can't help but start laughing.
I'd call that a long old welcome.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Mary. smile

Oh Ginnie, this is just perfect for your soulful blog! What a wonderful dog this is, what an amazing expression. I love it!

And you got *our* sunshine! I knew it had gone somewhere, now I know where it is .. been pouring with rain here for most of today sad
Ginnie Hart: And here I was hoping if it was sunny here it would be sunny there, Ellie! It's just now turning sunny again today at 10a. I didn't think it would, to be honest, based on the last hours.

This dog reminds me of Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh. Soulful is so right. You wanna go up and hug him to death!
Very nicely framed, Ginnie! I like this picture.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Kay. It was terribly "blown" but I tried to make the best of it.
That is a great title to go with this great shot! It made me laugh, someting I always appreciate.
Ginnie Hart: It made me laugh, too, Martin. Thank you so much.
nice shot Ginne, well spotted.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Dotun.
He's got such laid back looks - wish I had the time to pose just like him. Have a nice stay in Amsterdam Ginnie - hope to see more great pictures from you.
Ginnie Hart: You're so kind, Thomas. Thank you. I'm sure I'll have oodles of pics to come. smile
Ohh poor Dog... Give him his bone back at once Ginnie !!!!
Ginnie Hart: You gave me a great LOL on this one, Roland. Thanks.
This is a very funny guy, he looks so sad smile
Ginnie Hart: He reminds me of Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh, Zeb. You can't help but smile at all his sadness. smile
il a l'air bien sage ce chien. g├ęnial
Ginnie Hart: You may be right, O-P. Sadness may be "wise" in his case. I wonder if he carries the worries of the world on his shoulders!
Awwh , you cute cutieey
Ginnie Hart: Sadness has never looked so cute, right, Busola?! smile

Hey have a cool meet with Ade and make sure you take loads of pictures of the girl smile

Suby
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Suby. It was a terribly blown photo but I did the best I could with it. Just had to show it because I wasn't sure he'd be there again.

I am so excited about meeting up with Ade. And yes, of course, I plan to take as many pics as she'll allow! smile Maybe we'll even get one of both of us together (so I'm taking my gorilla tripod!).
Very cute dog.. Well taken
Ginnie Hart: Sad really can be cute, can't it, Shakara!
Bonita foto, Ginnie. Ni siquiera unos colores tan brillantes como estos que nos muestras hacen cambiar la expresi├│n de la cara de estos perros !! lol.

Pretty photo, Ginnie. Not even as shining colors as these that you show to us make change the expression of the face of these dogs! lol.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Jose. He reminds me of Eyeore from Winnie the Pooh! grin

Ginnie - Two of my favorite things. A great looking dog and beautiful flowers. What a wonderful welcome back - for all of us! and you captured it beautifully.
Ginnie Hart: It was too bright for this pic, Judy, but I just couldn't resist it because I was afraid I'd never see him again. As it is, I think he may be thre owner's dog. So maybe on day I can have a nice chat with him (the dog).

You know I just love it when I see you here! Thanks. smile

Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Tim. Thanks. smile

Ginnie Hart: I tried to get a translation for this, Lasiate, but I couldn't. I apologize that I don't know what you're asking. That makes me feel so stupid for not knowing. But thanks for stopping by and commenting.

lovely welcome shot. looks like he ate the last slow moving photographer though or is this in that area where all the dogs sit out front amongst the flowers.
Ginnie Hart: HA! He sure does look down in the dumps, doesn't he. But when I saw him, he was absolutely adorable in that moment.
Wow Ginnie .... really cool, can't wait till tomorrow :d, U sounded soooo warm today! loving the dog, he is soooo cute smile
Ginnie Hart: Likewise, Ade. We're gonna have so much fun getting to know each other. Hope you can get a restful sleep tonight. smile

What gorgeous colors and sunshine. You must have been smiling ear to ear. And good thing your camera wasn't packed away too deep in the suitcase. smile
Ginnie Hart: It was so fun, Ruth. Every time I look at this pic, I smile again.

And regarding my camera, it NEVER gets packed in the suitcase (which I almost always check), but gets carried in my backpack.

Ginnie Hart: Well, Florence. Remember that I'm 61 (62 in June) and this didn't start till a couple years ago. So you never know what's gonna happen while you're still young. grin
I love her/his expression....those eyes...mmmmmm smile
Ginnie Hart: I know, Aksel. It kills me!

Do you remember Columbo's dog Ginnie? Etude was his name, this reminded me of him as soon as the screen opened! lovely shot.

"Oh! There was just one more thing"

Ginnie Hart: It's funny, Mal--I remember Columbo but not the dog! (Must be old age!) But I DO remember all the times I've heard "oh! There was just one more thing." HA! I love it. Thanks, Mal.
